Competitive Domain Analysis Question
-
When looking at the Competitive Domain Analysis I noticed that I am the only one amongst my competitors that does not have a link from DMOZ. The problem is, I do have a link from them. When you search for my site on dmoz.org you can find my site and it has been that way for quite a while. Anyone know any possible reasons it may be doing this?

DMOZ doesn't have any value nowadays. I would prefer to concentrate on other areas to improve.

In my experience, OSE sometimes takes a (long) while to 'notice' links. Perhaps that's it?

Domain Authority Goes Down After Https change
We just moved our domain from http to https. We have been at a solid 89 for domain authority for the past year, but this month we are now at 88. Does changing to https cause the domain authority to go down and is this just a temporary fluctuation?

On-page grader question
Hi there, Getting to know the Pro tools and can't find an answer to this. Can someone explain for me please? Using on page grader, I found a couple pages with an F. I scrolled downWTO where it shows the keyword phrases and under each, the URL. Clicking on the first keyword "Building site alarms"it tells me off essentially for not optimising the page for that term. The URL is "construction site security systems" which are different to building site alarms which also have their own page. I don't understand why is Moz associating this keyword with this page? I certainly haven't told it to. Please he

Duplicate Content Issue because of root domain and index.html
SEOMoz crawl diagnostics is suggesting that my root domain and the rootdomain/index.html are duplicate content. What can be done to ensure that both are considered as a single age only?

Sudden, drastic drop in # of links and root domains on website?
Noticed that my links and root domain numbers had dropped by ~40%, seemingly overnight. Any idea what could have contributed to this (Toolbar update???)?

Do new Mozzers realise it takes effort to respond to their questions?
I see a lot of people asking questions and getting some pretty good responses, but the people who are responding, often do not get a thumbs up for their answer. If you are new and you are reading this, then you maybe do not understand that a thumbs up actually helps the person who gave their time to answer your question. There are several ways it helps, including giving feedback that the answer or the attempt to answer was actually useful, that you learned something or you appreciate the time it took to check your questions and give you feedback that you don't get in other forums, where you might be ignored for weeks or months. This is a collaborative forum and we are all here to learn something and to pass some of our knowledge to others who need it. Not every answer we give needs a thumbs up, but if you got something out of the answer, then, surely it is worth a second of your time to say "Thanks, that helped me" or "Yes, I agree with this"

What are followed vs non-followed links in Domain Analyis report?
I'm new to SEOMoz and wondering if some nice person can put this into plain English for me? 🙂 On the Competitive Domain Analysis report there are green follow / no-follow links and blue followed / non-followed linking root domains? what is the context of the green & blue circles? is there a better or worse visual representation that I should aim for - more dark green, more light green or about half & half. thanks in advance

Press Release - using moz bar/OSE is reading domain not page? How? Why?
A question posed by Christopher Glaeser from early today:low PA high DA, had a follow up response from him providing 2 urls from PR WEB for separate press releases: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/11/prweb8923419.htm (HP White) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 47 DA - 36 http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/12/prweb9051351.htm (Golfer's Advice) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 1 DA - 96 I kept scratching my head as to how a press release of 6 weeks ago had garnered such attention from a company that would not seem to have a huge traffic due to more obscure product offering and scientific subject (Analyses of Armor Industry versus Golf Advice).

Then I realized that for HP White, Link Data was not about the PR. The url from mozbar was HPWhite.com not the above, I did not notice until I used OSE where same thing was happening. When I cut and pasted the above press release url for HP White and placed it in OSE this changed: PA - 49 DA - 96 (2 links 2 linking root domains) For Golfers advice (0 links from 0 linking domains) Note to all: the links to the PR WEB release for the HP included a low end directory type link and a link from PR WEB (. For Golfer's Advice there was not a link back to the release from PR WEB: Note that Golfer's Advice is a newer release (6 weeks). So, any link from HPWhite release would equal more juice to HP White and PR Web and Vocus. Any link to Golfer's Advice from release offers......???? to Golfer's Advice and who cares to Vocus and PR Web. So, I guess this begs a couple of questions: Why the mozbar link analysis difference for one versus the other? Does PR Web treat some differently than others? Who benefits most from me paying a PR Web to do press releases for a client, PR Web and Vocus or my client and I???? I have tried to order the images to make sense: L to R top, then bottom is last. Authority On Authority Question
Hi, What does it mean when seomoz shows our domain authority as 43, but our homepage authority as 52 or higher? More recently, the two used to be roughly comparable at around 52. Maybe it doesn't matter, but it did change and it makes me curious. Thanks!
