Personally I wouldn’t put barriers in the way of a download, however I'm sure you will get a lot of debate about that one and at the end of the day it's what you consider to be of more value, the fact that the pdf is being downloaded or you have the information from the people who then know your going to contact them after a download.

Either way I would use a combo of QR code / printed shortlink and include analytic tracking data. Then if you do chose to collect email data first you can measure the conversion from who went to the data entry page from your exhibition any how many email addresses you collected ie:

I believe it does matter. You should choose with or without the www and stick with it (however your site is currently formatted).

Technically speaking with www is a different URL that the one without www so you link building efforts would be split across two domain which would not be cool.

A portfolio is not necessarily time-specific therefore it is not a post type such as a blog. A portfolio is just that, a portfolio of your work that you have completed (ie static) so why would you need to keep updating it. If you need to update/new articles then you would use the post type (blog).

In your case I would recommend not going down the post/blog route and use a custom taxonomy (ie portfolio) as using a post to publish your portfolio will also be available as rss and is also considered as time-specific.

Think of it this way if you already rank for 'Townscript' with the domain name being a match. Why would you need to use this word throughout the whole site titles. I would recommend using it on some generic pages such as 'About Townscript' etc.

Use the title for something better, something more descriptive (wow just think of all that extra space!).

In short the content contained in the iframe will not be indexed. I have previously used iframes for this reason to ensure that they do not get indexed.

The advice to use sub domains is a wow in it self from an SEO point of view. Sub domains do not pass authority so it's basically like having a new domain for each sub domain.Folders would have been a far better solution in my opinion.

I agree with Mark re archiving products. Although our products don't expire as quickly as yours appear to do I use http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/standalone-google-sitemap-generator.html on a cron job to keep our sitemap fresh.

I also exclude some of our over dynamic URLs using this tool from appearing in the sitemap.

Unfortunately yes you will need to 301 the subdomains back to the folder structure.
