Yahoo/Bing cache date went back in time
-
Within 12 hours of submitting a new site to Yahoo/Bing webmasters it was ranking #3 for the primary homepage search term and in the top 5 for about a dozen other. On 7/23 the rankings were steady or climbing with the most recent cache date of 7/21. Now the site only comes up when searching for the domain name with a cache date of 7/11.
I launched the site about 14 days ago so I am not expecting results yet but I had never seen this happen so I am just curious if anyone else had.

Everything has straightened out and the results are steadily climbing to the top. I had never seen it before and have not noticed it since so I suppose it was a fluke.

I haven't heard of this happening either, and sorry that you didn't get any other comments on the post. Now that it's been a couple of months, what's happened with the cache date? Did things straighten themselves out?

Does Google considers the cached content of a page if it's redirected to new page?
Hi all, If we redirect an old page to some new page, we know that content relevancy between source page and this new page matters at Google. I just wonder if Google is looking at the content relevancy of old page (from cache) and new page too. Thanks

Does cached duplicate content hurts seo by Google
If we have duplicate content or pages cached in Google which has been indexed months back, still it hurts the original pages? Old URLs with cache can be seen now in Google when we search for the same URLs.

Timing of actions
Hi Just got a question looking at the general timing of events and wanting to know what is the norm. I've seen on here recently talk of eBay losing ranking in the last few days, and here in the UK news, we have had info today of security issues at the company stemming from being hacked late Feb - early March. Are those two events linked? If so, what is the mechanism by which google would affect the ranking of an established company like this, for an issue like that? And more generally, what are the typical timings of cause and effect with regards to google responding with demoting rank for more general issues? Thanks in advance...... tom

How important is Social Media for building domain authority / Google rankings? Are there any cases?
I really would like to know if someone tested the importance of Social Media for Google rankings.

Are there some sites who build authority only by doing good social media?
Ofcourse, I know it is all about the mix (content, linkbuilding, social media, etc.) but how important is it?
I know many sites who rank good without any form of social media, but I do not know any sites who do only social media and rank high. I hope there are some good cases which give good insight. ps. I know it becomes more and more important...0 -
Spam Back Link Removal Problem.
I have just paid a lot of money to have spam back links removed from directories owned by the same person, the links were on pages that were set up for me without me knowing, at the end of each url is my domain name, the links have been removed on the page leaving a directory page with no other links on however the url is still there with my domain name at the end of the url and in each search box is my domain name, I have asked for the pages to be removed altogether as I did say before I paid the money I did not want my domain name on any of his directories, he has come back and said leaving my domain name in the urls is not a problem as far as Google is concerned, can anyone please advise, I can ask for a refund from PayPal, there are over 768 links on different sections of a number of directories. Thank you inadvance.

Disavow cache
Hey everyone, Currently helping a website that has been penalised and we've been going down a heavy link removal process as it has a pretty bad link profile. Our first disavow request has been rejected, and I was wondering.... When submitting a reconsideration request, do Google only know when a link has been removed when it's cached? If so, should I leave it a while for a reconsideration request as it might take a while for the cache to be updated Thanks

Did anyone else get a massive drop off in Bing recently?
Only for one set of my keywords. But I fell from first page to off the map in one fell swoop. Did this happen to anyone else? Should I be worried?
