What can be done to optimise a Facebook fan page for search?

I was wondering if there are any tips to help a FB page rank well for a given search term?
Any help welcome!

To further enhance how a crawler sees it, or any webpage, you can turn off CSS and browse as Googlebot.
Use the default user agent plug in for Firefox
Use the web developer plug in to turn off CSS
Also, shutting off JavaScript is good too.

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for the quick response. IS it possible to add GA code to the page somewhere?
Thanks.

I'll share two ideas and hope others can add to them.
1. Treat the page like any other web page. A search engine crawler will.
2. Log out of facebook and view the page. Ensure the page is accessible while not logged in to facebook, and all the content is visible. The way you see the page while logged out is how the crawler would see it.

Videos perform poorly on facebook...why?
I have a facebook page with 42,000 Real fans. Images, screenshots, links, questions, etc all perform well. But videos get 0 interaction. If I get 5 likes that is saying something. Why would facebook not send out my videos to people? Is there a way to increase them? It is very frustrating to post our youtube videos to get no response. My fans are most 13-30 yr old gamers, so videos should be right up their alley.

Benefits of getting inbound links to your Facebook account to go through your domain?
Hi, I was browsing a magazine recently and came across an advert that had a text of: domain.com.au/facebook When you visit this address you are automatically redirected to their Facebook account. It got me thinking, is there any benefit to this? It's the first time I've seen it and I presume they get links from outside sources to their FB account to go to domain.com.au/facebook rather than facebook.com/sitename Thanks

Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. Is there value in a presence on them?
I have a client (professional practice) whose father is a marketing professor. He is pushing the client that he should have a professional page on social sites. While I believe having FB likes, shares, Tweet links, +1, etc. on the page, I really am ambivalent about building pages specifically for social media sites.

What can Google tell from a video?
I notice that Youtube apparently does kind of an automatic transcription. What can Google tell about a video? Is it comparing text from a voice recognition transcript? Can it take compare the waveform of a video signal and see how different a video is from another video? I'm putting together a variety of videos that are similar for different pages and wondering how much do I have to change for each video. I remember one time I attempted to launch a video that was an exact copy but with a different file name, title and tags and Youtube said, "hey, that's the same video!" Thanks!
