What keywords would you suggest for interesting concept?
-
Not sure if it's OK to ask just about anything as long as it is relevant, but I would love to hear thoughts about good keywords to promote an app that will make it easy to migrate/move phone data and files - contacts, photos, music, calendars - from one phone - like a BB, iPhone or WinMo - to an Android phone or device?
I'm having the darnest time coming up with phrases that people who are searching for such an app would use?
Thanks
-
Copy, share, migrate, transfer and move are the main terms which come to mind. "Access files" can possibly work as well.

Thanks Ryan; Yes, I know about the keyword tool, I was just seeing if anyone else had certain keywords that came to mind when they think about it - just to see what others are thinking and if they match keywords I'm thinking of.

I would use Twitter to get some ideas. I.E. when I used search.twitter.com
For: "Move Phone Data" I got a lot of great ideas for possible keywords to optimize for

Then when you have a few keywords you can use the advice from this article:

Google AdWords Keyword Tool is excellent in this regard. Enter in a phrase and it will show you many other related phrases. You can also see the traffic generated for each phrase along with the difficulty in ranking for the phrase.
If you need more ideas, try to find apps which perform a similar function for other software. Examine their sites and keyword usage.

Site Ranking for keywords that they haven't targeted in content
There is a site that I am constantly battling for the #1 spot for a particular keyword and I can't see that they are doing any link building, they are not using any anchor text for the keyword "at all" just their company name (not exact match) and their content doesn't even contain the keyword. I used Open site explorer to analyze their activity, but they are doing something I can't figure out from that data. Any other tools to use? I have higher quality links than them, post content nearly 5 times per week to my blog and their blog hasn't been updated in ages, I kill them in social media, there isn't one instance that they are better than my site and I only build quality driven links, no blog comment crap and get featured on lots of industry blogs for our work. I distribute my content very effectively, I just can't figure it out. They were no where about 5 months ago now they are tearing it up for lots of keywords in the industry top spots. I can build a few links and surpass them, but I have to do it every week or so and I think they are doing something fishy. I just want to figure out what they are doing and bury them. I don't want to post their url and mine here as I don't want them to see this post in search results.

Long tail keywords / Close variations of keywords / Duplicate Content
In a classified site, people usually search for the same item with different keywords which are often very close to each other and point to same set of results: e.g. honda civic for sale
Competitive Research | | razasaeed
used honda civic for sale
civic for sale
used civic for sale
used civic All the above keywords should actually lead to same results i.e honda civic for sale. Our competitor is creating a page for each one of these www.sitename.com/q/honda-civic-for-sale/
www.sitename.com/q/used-honda-civic-for-sale/
... and so on Basically they create a page for each high traffic keyword they encounter where as we have very structure search. How to compete with that ? They are ranking on all these long tail keywords because of separate landing pages though most of the pages are duplicate of each other. 98% same content (all are showing honda civics) Should we go that route OR optimize our single page focusing on keyword with highest traffic and hope google will rank us for the related keywords as well ?0 -

Question About Keyword Difficulty Report
If I am trying to assess the difficulty of ranking for a longtail keyword phrase that is 3 or more words long, should I put that phrase in quotes when I enter into the Keyword Analysis Tool or not? For example, let's say I want to see how hard it would be to rank for the phrase "best educational resources for teachers". Should I enter into the keywords analysis tool as "best educational resources for teachers" or just as best educational resources for teachers? Which one would give me the most accurate difficulty assessment for that phrase?

Suggestions on Handling Copycat Spammer
Hello, We're looking for suggestions on how to handle a copy cat spammer. Another website (therichest.org) has been directly coping our posts and re-writing them just enough to fly under the Google radar. They end up outranking us and we've optimized, hired seo consultants, and run every test/review possible and everyone agrees that we should outrank them at the end of the day. However, that's not the case. Here's an example: Google: nicole porche net worth therichest.org ranks 1st. The webmaster is waiting for us to post and the moment we throw up a post, they copy the post. Our link is: http://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/models/nicole-porche-net-worth/ It would be ok if we were able to get a clear idea on why they outrank us but no one is able to give us a clear answer on why. They're also using some kind of strange redirect system with these domains: http://celebrity-salary.com/ http://celebritysalary.org/ http://www.therichest.org/celebnetworth/ http://www.richestcelebrity.com/ http://www.celebrity-networth.com/ http://celebritynetworth.org We also noticed that their FB likes sit high in the 3-5k Likes range which doesn't make sense when their FB groups have less than 100 followers. *mini update after talking to my partner - we'd like to offer a $500 bounty for the best response. It'll be for anyone that can help us try and identify any black hat techniques they're using, and offer some white hat suggestions for us to optimize ahead.

How do I find the best converting keywords
I rank decently on local search for some of my keywords but find that the traffic coming to my site is not from those keywords. I also find that they never convert to sales queries. Is someone able to help me out with that? Thanks My domain is www.hykano.com
