Soliciting articles and allowing author links?
-
We are trying to build up article content on our website, and are looking at soliciting fresh articles from authors on various subjects, and in turn give them an author link back to their website or blog in exchange for writing the article. Our website has massive traffic so this would be a good thing for the author.
My question is this: If I put a couple of anchor text links into the article, having them pointed at various pages on my site, and then allow the author to link back to his site, will I lose the link love in the anchor text? Or does it depend on the number of anchor links I have? Like 3 to 1 type ratio.

Thanks again Alan!

Yes, you want lose too much, i think the gain will out weigh the loss.
since we are talking about internal linking, here is a doco i think every one should read.

its a bit old, but the guts is still true.

Thanks Alan. So basically, if I anchor text 3 or 4 times in the body, above the author backlink, and point my hyperlinks to internal pages, I should get positive link love from Google, as well as have original, relevant content on my website pages.

yes it goes on a ratio, but it is not simply a straight split. the first link on a page get more, links in the main content are better then those in the footer and the sides. External links may take more then internal.
Article sites normaly have about 100 links pouintingback to their ownn siite so that they lose little.Linking out is no all bad, if the site you link to is relevant or has high authority it can be a positive. but if you opne your site to articles, you will have to review them as you will attract spammers who want to like to crap sites.

Link value from high authority domains vs low authority domains. How big is the difference?
Hi Guys. Could you send me in the direction of some quality information on link value. i.e) How much 'link juice' do you get from high authority domains vs low authority domains. Also, I understand the Moz value for DA is logarithmic, not linear. Does this also mean that a link from a site with a really high DA would be exponentially higher value than a site with a low DA. You know....like orders of magnitude better? Cheers in advance, I love you guys 😉 Isaac.

Spammy Links in MOZ but when I go to the external link I can't find a link to us
I was going to try to contact webmasters to see if they would remove some of our spammy links. I see alot of them in MOZ but when you go to the site our anchor text is not there. Is this good? How often does MOZ refresh external links. Please see: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/anchors?site=www.totalvac.com None of the links for the anchor text vacuum cleaner parts vacuum part... in MOZ exist? Do links from the second page of an article pass link juice?
I have been writing for some sites with a high overall page rank and the articles are being viewed as quality by search engines as well. However, they usually put a link to my site at the very end of the article and then break the article down into two pages to increase ad revenue. It seems that I'm not getting much credit for that link even if the page has a high SEOmoz/PR score. I want to know if I am getting the benefit from these links. If not, how do I make sure I get the most bang, even if my link is on a second page of the article? Here is an example of what I mean: http://www.forbes.com/sites/theyec/2012/08/22/kanban-for-customers-how-to-increase-transparency-in-your-business/

Pros and Cons of Links in Articles
My question pertains to articles that I'll be submitting to certain article directory sites. What are the pros and cons (If any exists) of adding links to the body of an article for certain keywords vs. just adding a link to the website at the bottom (i.e. visit us at www.somewebsite.com) ?

Too many external links vs linking root domains - good or bad?
Hi guys, After the latest Linkscape update, we noticed that our website have 424,671 external links with 4,395 linking root domains, so roughly 100 links/domain. Does Google consider this to be a negative thing or we do not need to worry about it. Many thanks. David
