Importing Open Site Explorer Into Raven Tools
-
I have just started to use SEOMOZ and Raven Tools at the same time. What is the easiest way to import Open Site Explorer link data (.csv extension) into Raven Tools so that I can manage my link building campaigns? If somebody knows an easy way to do that I will appreciate. Thanks in advance!

I wish someone had told me that before!!! Will save me bundles. Thanks Jon. Cant believe I missed that function.

There are a couple ways to go about this. The first is to do what Scott Griffiths said. Export the data and then edit it to fit our link import format. The second approach is to just use our Research Central tool, which pulls in the same backlink data from the Mozscape API. That tool will allow you to directly add links to the Link Manager, individually or in bulk. Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about. Hope that helps!

All we did was to create a spreadsheet template where we re-mapped the appropriate columns. We then load in the export data from OSE, transform it into the new template, and then exprt this as a CSV ready for import into Raven Link Manager.
Not elegant or automatic, but it works.

I'd love to know this too. Great idea

What outreach tools do you use?
I was wondering what an SEO with years of experience used to perform outreach campaigns? What software (Buzzstream, Inkybee), what email service (MailChimp), what prospecting tools (Buzzsumo)? What's the ultimate pairing of software and tools for maximum results (with the best client-facing KPIs)?

Links from non existant sites?
Hi! I'm new at all this 🙂 I've taken a look at the backlink profile for one of my sites as it's seems its been hit by this last Penguin update. I'm finding links to my homepage from sites that no longer exist, like this one: http://mikimoto-pearls.org - does this hurt my backlink? I mean, I would figure it does since there's nothing there? If so, how do I get the link removed? Do I even need to? Disavow tool maybe? Thank you!

Links from other sites in our network
I work for a large publisher with many websites, and it's common for our biggest sites to link to smaller sites within the network. These links are follow, site-wide, anchor text-optimised footer links. I think it's obvious that these links are harmful to the smaller sites that are being linked to, but it's hard to convince others of that, particularly because the toolbar PR benefit is very obvious. Do you think it would be better to: a) Remove the links completely b) Keep the links, but make them nofollow c) Keep the links (as it's not harmful) Thanks

Best On-Site Internal Linking Practices?
Hi everyone, Our company works extensively with ecommerce website, and we're beginning to wonder with all of the impending Google updates what our best bets for internal linking practices will be, in particular when it comes to menu options. We typically set up our navigation with top-level categories in the main menu, then drop downs to the sub-category level pages. Our question is, should the links in the drop-down menus be followed, and if so, should they be followed links across all pages of the website, or just on the homepage menu list, or not at all? We're trying to figure out what will pass the most internal linking power without being too much and overly "spammy," I guess. Thanks for your input!

How much important is the connection between content and backlink relevancy?
My question is about the connection between web page content and backlink relevancy, how much it is important? Let’s have an example: If I publish a guest post about “cell phone model review” and get a link back to my website which is on the subject of “cell phone monitoring”. Now my question is: Is this a relevant and good quality backlink? As content is about “cell phone Model Review” while the backlink is about “cell phone Monitoring”, How Google would take this as if; 1- Anchor text is “cell phone monitoring” 2- Anchor text is URL based
