Yo-Yo-ing rankings - what's going on?
-
I'm getting a little fed up and exasperated - if I'm honest!
Our seoMoz rankings are yo-yoing on a weekly basis - extremely. One week we're in the top 3, the next week, we're not in the top 50. The week after that, we're back in the top 3. Then we're outside the top 50 again.
I understand rankings go up and down sometimes - but this is every week, without fail. Not only that, but I also check my rankings with cuteRank and Firefox's Rank Checker and while those rankings are consistent with each other - seoMoz's rankings are always different and the only ones that Yoyo.
Further, it's not just our rankings that Yoyo - it's those of our competitors too. They follow the same pattern except that when we go up, they go down, and vice versa,
I'm just a little lost and unsure what to do, and I can't believe really that this is a true reflection of what is happening to us on Google every week. I know rankings change but surely Google aren't throwing us around like this?
It is making doing any SEO on the site impossible because I never know where I stand.
Any ideas or help would be wonderful. Thanks.

Although I don't have an explanation as to why your SEOmoz rankings vary greatly every week, I can offer some suggestions/ideas to get over this little issue.
Have you tried e-mailing the SEOmoz customer service team (help@seomoz.org)? They might be able to look into your specific case and diagnose any technical problems.
In the mean time, have you tried creating a completely new campaign to see if the same thing happens?
What about using the rank tracker that is NOT part of the PRO web app? It has weekly updates and if the same problem occurs you can try manually refreshing the rank once every day.
Lastly, a little more legwork here but you could also try running your rank checker about the same time SEOmoz updates their rankings in the web app/rank checker tool. Maybe you might see a difference there?
Best of luck!

Links don't add up
Sorry if this is obvious, but I'm new to seomoz. I've run an analysis for one of my pages and it's showing 624 total links - 118 internal and 6 external. Why doesn't the sum of the internal and external links equal the total links?

How to rank 1000s of subcategories [E-commerce]
Hi guys, I run an eCommerce store that has 1000s of subcategories, yes it's a lot but my niche requires that many. Using Traffic Travis, SEOmoz and other tools I can say that these are Easy/Very Easy to get ranked for. (Sounds good, but it's not that easy) If I'm honest my site has on site SEO done however I don't have unique content on each of the sub categories as it would take to much time, should I spend my time adding unique content to each one? I also need to increase page authority to my inner pages, how can I achieve this? My competitors on each subcategory are linking to there other subcategory should I do the same? I'm just not sure how deep linking works. My niche is printers/ink that's why I need lots of subcategorys however I'm just lost on what to do at the moment and I really need to increase sales! Thanks for reading.

Rank tracker accuracy
Hi there, When using Rank Tracker tool from Research Tools of SEOmoz and Google Ad preview and Diagnosis tool I get 2 very different results for the ranking of the same keyword. On the Rank Tracker my website is ranked at position 28 on Google US. As I have a Google adwords account, I use their Ad Preview and Diagnosis in selecting Google.com and United States as location for the same keyword. My website comes at position 6 in the list of organic results. Which one is accurate ? Thank you in advance.

SEOMOZ stopped counting local results as a rank?
I had a terrifying experience today upon receiving my weekly rankings report that stated I had dropped out of google for the majority of my keywords! However upon further inspection it would appear the report is not including local results in the ranking (my page shows up #1 but is a local result). This didn't happen before, did something change that I didn't know about?

Does the Moz Toolset offer anything like Raven's Backlink Explorer from fresh index
It seems like a useful feature where I can see what backlinks look like right now vs. the last monthly Moz dataset update. That is mostly because my site is new, but wondered if I was missing something. Thanks, Steven

What's with the new Q&A set up?
In the old Q&A set up your response was automatically given a thumbs up by you so that you got a mozpoint for every response you gave. Now you have to manually thumb up your responses. Why was this change made? Can we get it back to the way it was?
