Indexed pages in Google webmaster tools
-
Hi Mozzers,
Very quick question. Google WM tools interface has updated and I want to confirm I'm looking at the correct figure.
If I look up 'Your site on the web' / 'search queries' / then the 'pages' - this is correct indexation figure yes?
This differs from the 'site:' command but that's always the case.
Can anyone confirm,
Thanks

As fair as I know, there is no other equivalent of this value. You should wait 1-2 days, usually big G is fast at checking the sitemaps and showing up some relevant data.
Also you can now test your sitemap data with the GWT so it will benefit from more than 1 part your work if you submit your sitemaps.
Cheers!

Thanks guys - what if the sitemap has not been indexed yet? Its not been submitted so is there not an equivalent of the 'site:' command in WM tools with no sitemap submitted?
cheers

Hi Gareth
Those, to my knowledge, are only the pages which received impressions (appeared in Google search results) and only for the last month. This is not the number of pages Google has indexed.
Using the site: command like you mentioned is the best way to get the number of pages indexed. Also, if you've submitted an XML sitemap to webmaster tools and you know its complete, WMT will tell you how many pages out of your sitemap are has indexed.

Hi Gareth,
If you want to check the number of indexed pages in Google then go to:
site configuration -> sitemaps
There you will have URLs submitted and URLs in web index.
I hope that helped,
Istvan

Duplication in landing page
This is driving me mad, I have a site that for some reason google and moz pick up the landing page as a duplicate. They see "mysite/" and "mysite/index.html" as two different pages and giving me warnings for duplication. I have no 301 included at this time and I am using foundation as the base. This is occurring both on a localhost test bed and live....... anyone got an idea how to correct.

Google Authorship Problems
Hi, I seem to be having a few problems with getting google authors set up on Wordpress. I've set up my G+ account, put the link to my blog http://appointedd.com/blog/ and then registered it on the yoast plugin. However, I'm not sure it's set up correctly and I can't seem to be able to get it to work. I'm hoping a fine someone here has experience in this as I'm a little flustered. thanks.

Source page leading to a 404 pages in reports
Hi everybody, I wonder how to find and quickly correct 404 errors in my crawl reports : SeoMoz says me "http://domain.com/this-page-is-dead" is 404, but I can't figure out a source page where a link to that url appears. I tried a google link:http://domain.com/this-page-is-dead request, with no more luck. I imagine the trick is trivial, but I need it 🙂 Moreover, why do not show a list of pages referring to this 404 page on reports ? Thanks, Loïc
