Guest Blogging
-
Hey Guys,
I've been reading about the power of guest blogging and it seems like a fun way to build links. However, finding blogs that allow guest blog posts is a bit tougher than I thought. I read about MyBlogGuest.com and some other guest blog networks. Are these legit and am I on the right track when searching for blogs that will allow a guest post?
Thanks!

What I like to do with MBG is list all the blogs available on MBG, then sort by number of posts, this way I know I got a good chance of getting a post on there if I contact them.
Then systematically copy the url into Google and use the MozBar to look at the domains data.
So for example I found one yestarday which had the following stats:
Domain Auth: 50, Page Auth: 69, Moz Rank: 5.2, MozTrust: 5.6 with 315 linking root domains.
I friended the blog owner, and I got an article scheduled for today with 2 links one in the body and one in the byline.

MBG usability drives me nuts, but it does work. You need to invest time into learning how it works & to get the most out of it. Also you need to make sure not to give crap, weak sites your content

trying to be humorous here... read with a smile on your face
People who own popular blogs get a lot of requests from "marketers" who are trying to place a link, a shout out, a mention or any other form of detritus that connects to their website on that popular blog. Usually these people are simply trying to mooch on the bloggers popularity and effort.
Occasionally the marketer will offer a blog post or some other type of content that is usually among the worst chest-thumping grammatically-incorrect crap that the blogger has ever seen, mentioning the product or the website at least once in every sentence surrounded by superlatives that are typically misspelled... and if the blogger does a search he finds this detritus has already been published on at least a hundred other low-quality websites.
Very rarely the blogger receives a genuine gift of content that will not stink up his blog and that he is actually willing to publish. These rarely come from marketers and usually come from people who simply have a message that they want to spread.
So, if you have genuine, unique, substantive and informative content that the blogger enjoys and is motivated to share with his visitors you have a chance of seeing it published on a high quality website. If that happens the blogger or webmaster will certainly be open to future messages from you and be receptive to additional gifts of genuine, unique, substantive and informative content.
.... oh... one more thing... be really careful if you are going to hire a PR company to help you with this... The blogger knows that most of them are nothing more than spammers and their messages generally have a higher density of crap than is allowed by law. There are a few exceptions to this rule.

Blog hasn't ranked since reposting.
Hey Moz fam! I had a blog that was doing pretty well for the target keyword. Unfortunately, to make a long story short, we had an image in it we weren't supposed to so I unpublished it for a few days while we got that sorted out. Since republishing (with all the same content) it has not gotten a single impression. I inspected the URL and it is totally eligible but nothing in the way of organic traffic. Any ideas on how I can recover?

No URL for my blog?!!!
I use a website provider for my website. Sadly, although it has an integrated blog, the blog posts title does not get included in the URL. So now, with my limited knowledge of SEO I'm wondering if blogging is still worth it? Any thoughts Greatly appreciated! 🙂

What platform is it better to write my blogs
In a nutshell, I have a website and on the web site I have a rolling blog updated regularly with informative ,interesting and non pushy original material. However . I notice that my website blog has a lower page and domain Authority than my original platform which is on Googles very own platform "blogger" . Should I use Blogger or the website ? or would it be better to promote the website blog on blogger ? or am I over thinking this ?

We currently are using blogengine.net 1.6 and it's proving to be an SEO nightmare, with link loops causing infinite "duplicate content". I am trying to find the best blog solution as far as ease of use, clean content and good SEO. What do you use? What do you suggest? Thanks!

Blog at blogspot
Hi My website provider doesnt yet have the function to integrate blog under my domain name so the blog is at blogspot. Inevitably there will be quite some links going from blog to differnet pages on my site. I havent yet incorporated a clickable link from my homepage to blog. I am not sure wether to do this or not. Will this just reduce the value of the links going from the blog ? Thanks
