What are the best back links for a review site?
-
This is specifically for reviews for web hosting or VOIP services. Very technical. Where should I look for sites to get backlinks from?
-
Links from anything to do with that field.
- Providers
- Suppliers
- Tech Blogs
I would actually start following some of the major companies on Twitter, and see who or what they link out to. Hopefully they start following you!

Links From Unrelated Sites
Ok, I know this has kind of been answered, but... I have a website that helps people find lawyers. I also have a lot of friends who are musiciansand singer songwriters. I could get these bands to link back to my page. Should I do this?

Anyway to get old back links back?
My site ranked in the top 3 for my keyword for many years until someone hacked into my blog in December 2012, which is a subdomain. Google saw I had malicious malware on my domain and removed my site from being indexed (I think that is the word). Basically, I was no longer in the search engines. My domain and products have been featured on blogs and other places for many years (2 celebrity sites for gift guides), but not many are coming up (actual links with anchor text, not spammy links). I even have one on a friend's site and one in a directory. When I went to Google and put link:www.site.com , I got 1 link. I have seen a few, so I know they exist. Now, I am on page 3 and have not moved from this place since getting it back up in December 2012. For all of 2013, I thought I would have to wait it out, but now, I fear that waiting it out hurt me. Is there anyway to get Google to look further back and retrieve old links? Should I submit the high ranking ones? I am just wondering if I lost all my hard work in the past. Please advise.

Links Removed from Site but not Google Webmaster Tools
I have a new client who has been fighting to get past an unnatural links penalty. One of the biggest reasons behind it was that they paid to get a followed link/ad on a blog network, well this ad ended up being a site wide link which ended up giving them thousands of back links within a few days. After getting the owner of the blog network to remove the link i manually spot checked a handful of pages and used screaming frog to crawl looking for a link referencing their site. From what i can tell they are all gone. However they are still in Google Webmaster Tools as well as Google's index and it has been a couple months since they have been removed. Does anyone have any advice on getting them removed from Google's entities even though they are already off of the website? Thank you in advance,

Linking back to a high authority site
I have an odd situation. One of our most powerful links comes from a not-for-profit whom we have an advertisement with. That ad gets us half of our business. Recently, they slipped for the term that got them the traffic that flowed to our site. I was thinking of linking back to that page to boost them up a bit. Their page is a deep page on a high authority domain with only a few links. I am an authority site for my niche. I'd like to boost them up without diminishing my rank for other related terms. I'm willing to consider linking to them from my homepage, blog or link page. To play it safe I could just link build to them from outside my domain. Can I just link to them and its not a big deal?

Site Published Our Guest Post but Removed the Link Back
I recently developed a nice article for a career site and they agreed to publish it as a guest post. Once they published the article I noticed they had removed the link back to my site in the byline. What is a best way to approach this situation? Would you ask them to take down the article if they are unwilling to link back to your site?

For a new site, does it matter which sites I get back links from first? I.e., are the first back links more important than later ones?
I've heard that when a site is new, the sources from which it gets its first back links are very important -- that the early links are more important for ranking than later links. Is this true. If so, what would be some good places to get these very first links? Thanks.
