Back Links
-
Hi there,
I have been guest posting on blogs trying to build some back-links into my website, which so far is going not too bad, however I was wondering when writing these guest posts should I limit my post to let's say 2 back-links per guest post? If 2 back-links are going to different pages on my website, does the first back-links in the guest post have more value than the 2nd back-link?
Kind Regards,

I agree. Looks like we are all on the same page. However, again depending on the link profile of the client, I wouldn't do 1 style of links only. I would suggest doing all kinds of links, follow, nofollow, directory links, guest blog posts, press releases, donations scattered all over the web over a period of time. As long as they are all related links, they all add up. Plus you don't want competition to see which links helped you. A natural link profile will have all kinds of links, not just mostly directory links or mostly comment spam and so on.
I would suggest not overdoing any 1 style of links. That does not look natural in the SERPS.

Hi Doug,
Yes, higher up in the article is always something I try to do.
I do a lot of guest blogging however as you can imagine it's very time consuming, do you use any other strategies in getting back-links into your clients website manually?
Over the years I have stopped doing things like directories, PR releases , article submissions.

Thanks for the reply.
Have you guys measured this in anyway, as you know there a lot of things out there on what is best practice.
Kind Regards

I normally try to add one link, high up in the article, if possible, linking to a page you're trying to promote that is relevant to the hosting blog/article.
Putting a link in the article content can help if your content gets scraped.(You may earn another backlink!)
Of course, guest blogging isn't just about earning the backlink. If you need to add additional links to provide better value to the reader then I would do so. A backlink that contributes to your ranking is one thing, a back link that also delivers referral traffic is even better!

I completyely agree with RankSurge, limit it to just one link in total - that's what I practise by.

Thanks for the quick response.
Yes, I think I agree with you on this, I have a similar strategy for internal linking.
Thanks

You should only include one link in total in your post. I know others might have different opinions, but if you are trying to build a link profile, each site should have it's own set of unique inbound links.
By having 2 or more links pointing to different pages, you are diluting any link juice you might get from that post.
Just my $.02

Other websites copy content and giving a link back
Hi, I've just noticed a few back links in Google Search Console, I was excited. But when I saw the backlinks, 2 other websites that had completely copied my content and then gave a backlink to my website. Is this bad for SEO and would google penalise my website for this?

Links from same server or not?
Hello, I make websites so every website I make has a backlink to my website. Currently all my websites are hosted on server A, but my OWN website is hosted on server B. I plan to move my website to server A too. This will indicate that all the backlinks I have currently are from a difference server, now all these links will come from the SAME server. Will this have any results on my positions? Is this something that you have to take into account? Jeroen

Using an SEO Agency to build one-way links for you via link exchange
There are a number of SEO agencies which offer link building as part of their SEO offerings. I believe they build one-way links to the client site, by offering another link in exchange to the liking site. So, if the client site is "C", and link is being requested from site "A", the site "A" owner is offered a link from site "B" in return. Is this a good and/or recommended practice?

Back linking: Relevance or Domain Authority?
For back linking, what is more important for increasing rank for organic searches on Google? I've noticed that linking on sites with high domain authority that have some or no relevance boost my keyword ranking. However, does back linking on relevant sites help if their domain authority is not so high?

Building Links
Hi everyone, I am new to SEO and in the process of building links the clean way. Any suggestions on how exactly I can find websites that are linking out to quality websites already? I went thru most of my competitors link building strategy - and 90% of their links are done either thru link exchange or paid links. So looking at my competitors strategy does not really help. So I need to find websites/blogs/forums that are ready to link to me if I can show them some useful content. How do I find these websites first? Please help! Cheers! Arjun

Links on the same keyword
When is linking from one particular keyword to much. At what point could link building from one keyword be considered spam and potentially delist a site ? Is it possible for a site to be delisted for having to many links from the same keyword ? Heard linking from the website name is more important following recent changes. I try and link from a selection of 3 to 4 keywords. Thanks for your help
