.com domain is an iframe copy of a .net domain?
-
Hey folks,
This one is over my head. I'm helping out a friend's dental office website (www.capitolperiodontal.com), and their home page source code points to the .net TLD for its content apparently:
| |
<title></span>http://www.capitolperiodontal.com/</title> http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html" /> rows="100%" id="dd_frameset_0001"> src="http://www.capitolperiodontal.net/" name="dd_content_0001" framespacing="0" frameborder="0" noresize="noresize" title="capitolperiodontal.com" /> <noframes></noframes> My idea was to load all the content from the .net to the .com, then redirect the .net to the .com as it has better domain authority and is, well a .com.
Any insights what this iframe biz is all about and if my strategy above is ok?
Many thanks folks!
john

Thanks a bunch for confirming this for me, I thought this was just odd and wanted to make sure there wasn't some kind of pertinent reason for using such a technique.

Hi John,
IFrames are very bad, especially if its embedding the entire site content. Search engines can't read inside IFrames making them NOT search engine friendly.
I would recommend doing what you have stated:
- That you make www.capitolperiodontal.com the main site by moving all website files to the root of this domain.
- Then do a 301 redirect from www.capitolperiodontal.net to www.capitolperiodontal.com. This will allow you to keep any ranking, authority, etc.. to pass to the .com site.
Let me know if you need any other help or info.

Domain forwarding or redirects for SEO?
Hi all! A client of mine owns several top level domains which are not in use, let's call them example.nu, example.de, example.net and so on. The current website is example.com.

When checking the technical status of the unused domains I realized that all but one are forwarded (via DNS) to example.com and only one has a 301 redirect. Should I redirect all of them by means of 301 or let them stay forwarded? Very few of the domains have any other sites linking to them. Any thoughts would be really appreciated! Jesper0 -

Domain not ranking in Google
https://www.buitenspeelgoed.nl/ is a domain acquired by our client. Previously this website was on http://www.buitenspeelgoed-keupink.nl. With the old domain they were ranking top 30 on 'buitenspeelgoed' in google.nl. Now with the new exact match domain they aren't ranking any more (for months). However, the website is indexed, as you can see on http://1l1.be/nz I don't know what to do anymore. Need some advise. What we allready have done the last months: made adjustments to the 301-redirects (this was originaly setup wrong by the webdesigner (de) optimized the homepage on 'buitenspeelgoed' (strange is the fact that the Moz robot can't access the site). Checked the robots.txt to see if the website was blocked for Google Checked the meta robots to see if the website was blocked for Google Disavowed some spammy (old) links which linked to the old domain Checked Search console > Fetch as Google if there isn't any Malware of some kind (and to see if Google can access the site) Checked Search consol to see if there manual spam actions (isn't the case) Checked for duplicate content by copy/paste some texts in Google and see if any other results are showing up (isn't the case for most of the texts) Please let me know what we can do.

How do we build rank on a domain with an offsite blog?
We have a site (domain y) that we'd like to integrate a blog into but our team doesn't have the bandwidth to do this. So, we've been exploring the option of building the blog in WP and hosting on a separate domain (domain x) and redirecting from domain y to it. My concern is how this affects or undermines rank value on domain y (effectively all the value from the blog resides on the blog domain x). How might we go about integrating an offsite blog into the core domain while maintaining search value? Is there a way? Thanks!

Openx IFrame and tracking in Analytics
Hi, We're running our own adserver and we use OPENX. The problem is with the iframe invocation type that we have been using to show ads on pages. My question is: How can we track the ad clicks that are being showed in the iframe? I know the method in Analytics to count outgoing links as pageviews or events but I am not sure how to do this for clicks for OPENX Iframes as they don't even include Google Analytics tracking code inside the iframe. any ideas appreciated

Do Domain Extensions such as .com or .net affect SEO value?
In the beginning of SEO days, it was going around that .com is the best for SEO and that .net is not as good. Is there any truth to this, and what about .org or .edu? I always hear that .edu sites have high PR. Is there any rhyme or reason to this, or all they all equal? Thank you, Afshin Christian-Way.com

Using hyphenated sub-domains or non-hyphenated sub-domains? What is the question! I Any takers?
For our corporate business level domain, we are exploring using a hyphenated sub-domain foir a project. Something like www.go-figure.extreme.com I thought from a user perspective it seems cluttered. The domain length might also be an issue with the new Algorithm big G has launched in recent past. I know with past experience, hyphenated domains usually take longer to index, as they are used by spammers more frequently and can take longer to get out of the supplementary index. Our company site has over 90 million viewers / year, so our brand is well established and traffic isn't an issue. This is for a corporate level project and I didn't have the answer! Will this work? anyone have any experience testing this. Any thoughts will help! Thanks, Rob

Top Level Domains
Howdy Everyone, I have a website that will span multiple countries. The content served will be different for each country. As such, I've acquired the top level domains for different countries. I want to map the cop level domains (e.g. domain.co.uk) to uk.domain.com for development purposes (LinkedIn does this). I'm curious to know whether this is adviseable and if mapping a country-specific TLD to a subdomain will maintain local SEO value. Thanks!
