I'm working on an e-commerce site and I'm having trouble determining how to find keyword targets for similar product pages. The company sells posters and they have three posters for Babe Ruth: Babe Ruth Winning, Babe Ruth Attitude and Babe Ruth Desire. After doing keyword research, I found there is a good amount of traffic for "Babe Ruth Posters" but none for "Babe Ruth Winning Posters," "Babe Ruth Attitude Posters" and "Babe Ruth Desire Posters."
How can I differentiate these three product pages? Can I optimize them for a term that doesn't have traffic, hoping that one or more of these pages will come up when someone enters the search term "Babe Ruth Posters."

Sometime keyword research tools show that there are not to many people are looking for certain keywords, but it doesn't mean that this keywords are bad. It is probably recommended to optimize for the keyword "Babe Ruth Posters" however it is not bad idea to optimize for two other keywords phrases too, they have main keywords in it too.
As well I noticed that sometime some of my clients coming up with keywords which are "not known" by keyword tools but even though they are being used.
Optimization of each page according the content is good idea. If it is "winning" poster then it is winning poster. Especially if you have separate section or product with word "winning" in it it will be recognized. Of course all optimization and decisions are up to you.

SEO is not an 'exact' science, you can only follow some best practices and do your best. One of the best bits of advice I can give you is to use some keyword diversification on the product page. Mention a variety of keywords around your topic - 'Baby Ruth Winning Posters' (in the title) and 'Babe Ruth Posters' (in the content) and even 'Babe Ruth' and 'Posters'. Focus 50% on keyword research and 50% on what makes sense to users.
Do you have a parent level catalogue page that just lists 'Babe Ruth Posters'? Focus your on page keywords more around "Babe Ruth Posters" and leave out the specifics.
Always look back at your stats. Check your rankings, check your Google Analytics. Find landing page entrances by keyword and measure the conversion rate to your goals.

Hope that helps

Moz Keyword Competition Analysis Tool
Hi Just been having a play around with the Moz Keyword Competition Tool and noticed that the reuslts given in terms of exact match searches is different from the data in the actual Google Adwords keyword tool even though the Moz tool pulls its data form the Google Adwords index so technically should be the same right? Was just wondering if anyone else had noticed that or if I am missing something. All you help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers

Keyword Strategy for an E-Commerce Site
I've seen this touched on in other posts but have read conflicting answers and am hoping to get some clarification. What should my keyword strategy be for an e-commerce site in an industry that has moderate to high competition for it's short-tail keyword phrases? Should I try to optimize my homepage for the highly competitive, short-tail keywords, while going after the long-tail, and less competitive (but less traffic, too) on my product pages? What's a good rule of thumb as far as the number of keyword phrases to target per product? Thank you
