Paywall usage question on First Click Free

We have some list pages on our site that we would like to use a paywall for to get users to do a free registration. The first 2 times they view a "list" page (from anywhere) they see the content fine. If the user registers or logs in they can see all content.
My question is if a user hits our site and they look at 2 list pages. They leave the site and then via a google search result they find another one of our list pages. When they click on that they get to our site but the paywall pops up. Is this a problem? First Click Free documentation says that they must be able to get there on the first try.
Since we let people look at 2 lists free are we ok? Does googlebot have an issue crawling our site if we do that?
Without the paywall our conversion rate was about 1-2%.

Are you doing this with a cookie? If so, it shouldn't be a problem. Last I checked, Googlebot still denies cookies.

Matrix or variant product options question
Hi all,I'm interested in what the community on here think about matrix products aka variant options for products on ecommerce websites from an SEO and ux perspective. I work for a startup in a relatively greenfield industry which we are trying to disrupt. Brand new ecommerce website. The status quo in the sector is to list lots of similar individual products in the same category with the main difference between them being the physical dimensions of the product e.g. Length or height etc Based on this, my view is that we could obtain an advantage over the competition from a search perspective by grouping these products together to display a single page for the main product featuring "options" for the customer to select from on the page. In some instances this could group maybe 20 products together into a single page which would otherwise be individual products and individual pages. This gives us a single page for related keywords and page authority etc (if of course we develop the page in the right way and don't accidentally create crawlable urls when options are selected) This approach might take an ecommerce site with 5000 products down to 2500 products. My view is that this also creates ux benefits enabling customers on the site to find products faster and checkout rather than scrolling through pages and pages of the same items trying to find the right size. So bounce rate lower, better engagement etc all things which contribute to a better page. The challenge I am faced with is convincing everyone that this is the best approach. Everyone in the sector doesn't do it this way so culturally I'm up against it in terms of getting people onboard with the approach. Should I persevere or am I barking up the wrong tree? Question about conversion rate in ppc

I really don’t have any data to compare to… For example, this is campaign from the insurance niche from the uk : Clicks – 132
Impr – 6,958
CTR- 1.90%
Conversion – 20 (Not inducing the one that calls the office)
Conversion rate – 16%
Total cost – 704£ How can i know by these number that the campaign is working ? Same here (T-shirts campaign for the Spanish market): Clicks – 1,219
Impr – 26,177
CTR- 4.66%
Conversion – 56
Conversion rate – 4.5%
Total cost – 493€ Probably you will say, check how much you spend and how much you got back ?
This is also a problem for me. I can see the numbers of the conversion but because we are not eCommerce so i cant really know the total income. Do you know if there’s is a way that each for quote that coming to our system
so i will know where it came from ? Like a comment in the url or something ? I think that 90% of our income/quotes comes from the organic as we are ranking very high in Google so its a bit mixed in the system. Any feedback or tips here on this will be very welcome…0 -
Adwords shows clicks but no conversions in GA
Hi Folks, I was wondering if anyone has come across a similar situation, I have setup adwords campaigns and included these in my Google Tag Manager setup and deployed the GTM snippet to a clients site. In adwords I can see clicks (2,000+) however in Google Analytics I can see only a handful ot conversions. Is there anyway I can test/track a conversion to ensure that it is being processed and report correctly? Also within AdWords Conversion Tracking I have noticed that under the "Webpages" tab that pages other than the pages that should have the conversion code on them are listed. Have I setup my Adwords camapign or GTM tags incorrectly? Any and all feedback or insight would be greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Identifying crawler clicks
I have a website where i register outbound clicks on some affiliate links. But when crawlers and search engines pass my site i get clicks registered which are not customer clicks. How can I identify these clicks and not save records of them? -Rasmus

Question regarding eCommerce sites, relative URLs and secuirty certificates
We recently installed a new SSL certificate on an ecommerce site. Our IT Director is insisting that all pages on the site must be coded in such a way so that the address bar maintains a green background when a visitor is navigating the site after navigating to a secure page or logging in. I have worked on many ecommerce sites and never has this been an issue. Amazon does not use the green bar....but they are Amazon. In order for this to work, he is insisting that all internal URLs be coded as relative instead of absolute. How bad is this for SEO or does it really not matter that much? How crucial is it for trust and security? Opinions welcome!

Youtube Adwords click/visit discrepancy
We started a Youtube ad campaign. Over 2 days we got 60 clicks. However on our site we only measured 19 clicks. We used Kissmetrics to do the measurement. We're trying to figure out if the problem is on our end, or whether people are clicking but then closing the tab before the Kissmetrics JS loads. We're going to implement adwords conversion tracking to get a second measurement. But I was wondering if anyone else has experienced big gaps in how many people click a Youtube ad and how many actually visit the site. We got about 40 people who viewed the video 100%. I'm hoping bots aren't an issue with Youtube ads.

Question On Product Review Video Production
We are looking to make reviews of many of the products we have on site (staff reviews). The only problem I am having is our products are not stored at our office (nor can they be as they weigh hundreds of pounds and are super expensive to ship). So what would be a good solution to show in the video? Should we just do a slide share of still shots of the products with a voice overlay or try something more of a hybrid that uses a whiteboard? The products themselves cater to gardeners and the DIY crowd so it doesn't need to be super involved.
