Reached No. 1 for my Keyword, what next?

Hi,
After months of targeting, promoting etc... I have now reached Google.co.uk rank position 1 for my phrase "creative recreation trainers" and I stand at rank 3 on Google.com.
I am happy with these results as this is the phrase I targeted and this is the brand I wanted to rank first for.
But were do I go from here?
I am thinking I change brand and try work some magic on that, but still continuing to add backlinks etc... to the Creative keyword phrase?
What would people advise?
Also can anyone do an analysis of any sort on that keyword phrase and/or the url http://www.designerboutique-online.com/all-clothing/creative-recreation/ and tell me some good points, bad points, what to do next and so on?
Any help would be great.

Ah...as a one man SEO firm, I can understand that you're worried about pushing yourself too thin when it comes to marketing your keywords.
However you always want to diversify your portfolio, only ranking for one keyword can hurt your business and your website, as Google might see it a bit too spammy. I'd keep an eye on "creative recreational trainers", but I'd definitely focus on your other keywords including "armani jeans" and "vivienna westwood shirts". -

Yeah I will be moving onto other brands eg. armani jeans, vivienna westwood shirts etc... but what do I do about the creative recreation trainers phrase? Leave it, top it up now and again, continue to market it along with other brands?
As a one man team, too many brands and I find it impossible. So taking 1-2 brands and trying to do well on them.

When you say expand my keyword list, should I expand around the main brand eg creative recreation kaplan trainers or black creative recreation trainers?
Or should I move onto another brand completely? And just top up my Creative Recreation Trainers occassionally?
When you say run tests, what tools are there to check these? Are the grade reports in SEOMoz any good?

Find out what content people are viewing on your website and what people are sharing, use this as a basis to not only expand your keywords but your business as well. If there's a certain piece of content or item that your customers like, find a way to market it.
Just because "creative recreational trainers" is ranking high, doesn't mean you should stop marketing. Find other keywords similar to your niche and go after those as well.

In short: Focus on widening your reach. Expand your keyword list and create more content for those keywords. Also- run tests on your site to see how you can better convert existing traffic.

Keyword strategy for wordpress category base blog in competitive industry
Hi friends, We have a client in the movie review blog industry, which we are aware is highly competitive, but we have tons of content (over 10,000 unique posts) and a good team of reviewers for fresh content. I was wondering about any input on keyword variations for our SEO Title of our wordpress main categories, like "Movie Reviews". I was thinking a modification to "Latest Movie Reviews", but the competition is only slightly less, and still seems questionable for attaining eventual rankings. "Best Movie Reviews" is slightly higher than "Latest Movie Reviews" but the competition still seems tough. What would be a good long term strategy with these category pages, any suggestions?

Google Keyword Tool Alternatives
Hey All, So ever since Google shut down the Keyword Tool we have used the keyword planner and a few other tools only to find they aren't quite the same, I was wondering what everyone is using now to get there keyword research and average traffic estimates ? We previous used keyword tool for phrase match and now not much offers phrase match or provides us with what seems as accurate results. We have tried Word Tracker after a numerous amount of research to find a alternative to the keyword tool, and found that the results are very different from the Google Keyword Planner, 1 noticeable result would be of "Web Design Melbourne", in Word Tracker it showed the average search of 9,900 (per month or year I'm not sure) and we compared that to the Google Keyword Planner and it showed 3,000. I have looked over a number of tools and found they weren't quite what we are looking for (Word Tracker, SEMRush, Google Keyword Planner) so I have turned to the MOZ Community. So my first question for everyone would be: A) what do you use for Keyword research and average search estimates now (any good tools with phrase match)? B) If you have used Word Tracker have you found accurate results in your keyword research? If you have found any tools that have proved beneficial and useful please let me know 🙂 (paid or free) Thank you

Anyone want to test out my keyword research theory?
Hi all, I'm relatively new here but not new to the world of SEO / SEM. Over the years I've loved using SEOmoz and other tools but of course have found certain limitations with respect to how I like to work. That's the case with any tool / service. So over the years I've put together a keyword research / competitor analysis process that has worked well for me and I'm wondering if it might also work for others. I've spent the last 15 years of my life as a director of a range of companies, mainly in printing but also in systems development, marketing, etc. I spent a large percentage of my time developing systems and tools to help me with my search engine marketing. I've now sold all my companies and I'm semi-retired, somewhat bored, and would love it if I can assist others with the process I've used over the years. I'm curious to know whether SEM professionals agree with the way my system ranks search terms from "best" to "worst". If you're interested in testing this process and telling me if you think the resulting list of search terms that I come up with for your website is "spot on", "not bad" or "horrible!", then please read on. My key motivation here is to educate myself as well as others. I'm not charging for any of this... If you give me your website URL, your top 5 competitors and your top 5 search terms, I will return to you: a complete list of search terms including "niche" and longtail search terms you can then... really easily filter out irrelevant search terms, thus creating a list of negative keywords, ready to import into your Adwords campaign. easily group your search terms in "education" and "purchase" search terms so I can analyse these two groups of keywords separately see which words are used most often across all the search terms so you can easily create keyword specific Ad Groups in your Adwords campaign. You can tell me which options you prefer: broad match, "phrase match" or [exact match] when getting search engine results specify any country you want the SERP results for, or even any city. I will then: do all the keyword research, getting the latest (live) Google SERP results combine all competitor metrics (page rank, domain age, juice links, etc) and search term information (search volume, CPC, search term length, etc) together to give you a list of search terms ranked from "best" to "worst" do the same for both organic search terms and paid (Adwords) search terms do the same for both direct search terms and niche search terms take into account "word count" (number of words in a search term) as longtail keywords generally higher-converting search terms And you can adjust things to change how the keywords are ranked: specify "thresholds". eg; you can ignore the really competitive search terms, or ignore the really short search terms specify "weightings". eg; you can put a greater emphasis on search term length, or a lesser emphasis on cost per click As a result of the keyword analysis, it'll also show you who your organic and adwords competitors are based on all keywords, or just your top ranked ("best") keywords. In that competitor data you can see: which paid ads appear at the top, side AND bottom of the results page which organic results are shopping, image, video, and local results all the metrics for each competitor (page rank, domain age, juice links, etc) All of this is is handled in a simple web interface that I threw together recently. It's really simple, merely asking for your site and preferences and then an interface to view / sort the results. Interested?

Once I have your basic details, I can get a keyword list together simply (using my internal process / software) and then you need to do some basic sorting, particularly if your search terms are in an industry that I know nothing about. Your input will be required. From there, give me 24-48 hours and I'll return 2 lists of search terms: "organic", and "Adwords". I'd love to hear your opinion about the relevance of the search term lists. I hope it will also spark some interesting discussion and hopefully help people learn a bit more about keyword / competitor research. Should I set up multiple websites with keywords in the domain?
I work for an e-commerce brand that manufactures sells 2-3 uniform products for medical professionals. Of course, we set out originally using our brand name as our domain name, and we will continue down that path. However, our best products are the premium lab coats we sell, and we're currently facing an uphill battle for the keyword combo, "lab coats" which is 44% competitive. In our ranking analysis, we can see that we're up against 2 major competitive forces: extremely high domain authority (i.e. Amazon & Ebay), and stores that have the phrase "lab coats" or the word "lab" in their domain name. We recently dropped the hosting package we had with the domain www.scrubsandlabcoats.net (which was redirecting to our primary domain) and our ranking dropped almost immediately afterwards. We put that site back up and now 301 redirect it to our main site but it doesn't look like we restored whatever it was that was in place on that site (before my time) because our rankings haven't improved back to where they were a few months ago. Question is: Would it make sense to purchase a domain with the combination of our brand name and the words "lab coats" and then put up a few pages with links to our top productus OR would that be no more effective than what we already have in place (www.ourdomain.com/lab-coats.html)? Also, any guesses on what kind of crazy set up we used to have on that other domain (scrubsandlabcoats.net) that was helping us in the past? Really appreciate the help!

Keyword Search - another site bypassed me and they are not ranked well...
I was trying to optimize the keywords "music for kids" . This is a no brainer because my URL is "musicforkids" My On-Page Report Card for "music for kids" gives my site a "A". The on page report card for the other site gets an "F". But the other site comes up number ONE in the organic Google search and my site comes up number three. The two sites above me receive a crappy on page Keyword report for the key words "music for kids" but they still come up above me for that search term. What's the deal?

Can you track multiple domains with the same key words and not use up your keyword limit?
I have roughly 7 domains that I am trying to monitor with the same set of keywords. Is there a way to do this without using up your keyword limit. They are the same words just different sites.

Keyword Trouble
Having the worse time trying to figure out what keywords to use on my website. Run a E commerce site and we sell HID lighting and aftermarket Lighting or High Intensity discharge lighting. Now when thinking about why people would come to our site...the obvious reason would be to buy HID kits. BUT here is the problem, Every keyword that i throw into the seoMoz keyword difficulty tool or any other tool whether its Google or whatever comes back as super high competition for that word. Now i find low comp words but they don't really relate to my site and could kill my bounce rate percentage. Not sure what i could do or if anyone has any tips that can point me in the right directions. It sounds like i am going to have to muscle my way through this one. Any help please guys.

How accurate is the Keyword Difficulty Tool for international markets (specifically Australia)?
The difficulty percentage on several keywords is identical for Google.com and Google.com.au and I am wondering why?
