Yoast Wordpress not working
-
Hey everyone,
In looking through my site and doing some Google searches of titles we've written, it appears that all the posts we're making aren't showing up in Google search results.
Example: If i paste the title of this post Netflix CEO suggests partnership with HBO, but HBO quickly nixes the idea into Google, it does not pull our post. Given the uniqueness of the headline, it should pull up our website in SERPS, but it doesn't.
My assumption is that this Yoast plugin simply isn't working, but I doubt it's Yoast's fault. The site is not set to private, so that's not the problem. I'm also noticing that my sites description isn't showing up either.
Can anyone help me solve this problem, please?
-
Ok, fair enough, heres another obvious request, never having this problem, or knowing much about your site, means most will be clutching at straws just suggesting the obvious, like ...tried reinstalling? I know it seem daft but just wondering. May "work".
-
Christopher,
I disagree that the Plugin is working properly. If it was I should see my posts from today, yesterday, and so on, which I'm not.
-
My home page and post meta descriptions aren't working despite them being filled out (screenshot)
-
When I check the source code on /tag/ pages, I do not see "no index, follow" even though it is checked in the settings.

As previously stated it seems to be working fine in the respects of what you questioned. Maybe when you checked it just hadn't yet been indexed?
Also just see whats indexed aready, all t he titles can easily be tested and seen there, https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ie=UTF-8&ion=1#hl=en&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&q=site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fthetechblock.com%2F&oq=&gs_l=&pbx=1&fp=30a6c33f3783380b&ion=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1366&bih=643
or
site:URL and have a looksy at whats indexed.

Yoast or Premium SEO Pack?
Which one is better Yoast or premium SEO pack excluding that one is paid & other is free. Because when we are doing SEO $39 doesn't make a huge difference as compared to the work we do right? Which one will you suggest out of the two?

301 redirects in Wordpress vs. making old posts that you no longer want your audience to see private.
I'm working on Wordpress at the moment changing the content of a page on my website. The page has a lot of educational information and each section is unique. I had to go through and edit each section on google documents and now I'm posting all the new pages and making the old pages private on wordpress. Is this a good idea? I'm worried google will still crawl my private education pages and think these are duplicates since the new pages somewhat resemble the old. Also, should I be 301 redirecting all the old education pages to the corresponding new ones even if they are private on wordpress? I understand that the 301 redirect should only be used if you want the old page to go to a new one. What i don't understand id weather this will still be relevant or work if I've already made the old page private on wordpress. Thank You!

WordPress Duplicate URLs?
On my site, there are two different category bases leading to the exact same page. My developer claims that this is a common — and natural — occurrence when using WordPress, and that there's not a duplicate content issue to worry about. Is this true? Here's an example of the correct url. and... Here's an example of the same exact content, but using a different url. Notice that one is coming from /topics and the other is coming from /authors base. My understanding is that this is bad. Am I wrong?

Why does the site I am working on have so few visits from organic search results?
Hello! I am not very experienced with SEO, but I am trying to help out on a site that has been around since 2010 and has well over a thousand pages of high-quality, original content, with more being added all the time. Only around 65 of the site's daily visits come from organic search results; this seems very low. There has already been significant SEO work done on the site. Is there something about the site that strikes anyone as obviously getting in the way of organic traffic? The URL is ellenjovin.com. I would appreciate any thoughts you may have. Thank you very much!
