Keyword Question: How to Target my Niche
-
Hello,
I'm a health coach helping people with multiple sclerosis. Here's my website:
bobweikel(dot)com
What do you think the top 4 local keywords would be for my niche? I'm in Boise ID.
I'm thinking
MS Boise
MS Boise Idaho
Multiple Sclerosis Boise
Multiple Sclerosis Boise Idaho
With your intuition, do you think these are valuable keywords for a coaching site? Also, can you think of any other keywords? I want this 100% white hat.

Sorry for the very late response, I was traveling and busy in office once I got back, thanks to penguins, pandas and the rest of the zoo.
To answer the second part of your question the keywords need to be revised accordingly. I would focus on NLP therapy, NLP Practitioner, NLP life coaching as primary seed keywords. For MS related keywords it would be best to focus on lifestyle for MS keywords.
And yes, the title goes well with your service, though its longer than 65 characters.

Sangeeta,
Thank you. That makes sense. A possible title is
NLP Health Coach | MS Treatment Center & Therapy, Multiple Sclerosis, Boise Idaho
Except that my services are not at a center, they're at my office, and I don't do therapy, it's more like life coaching than therapy.
Your thoughts?

Hi Bob,
I would not go with anyone of these keywords. You need people looking for treatment to come you your website. That way they will convert better. So even if the search numbers are few, your primary keyword should be
MS Treatment Boise
multiple sclerosis treatment Boise
MS treatment center Boise
multiple sclerosis treatment center Boise
MS therapy Boise
Multiple sclerosis therapy Boise
We have tried this and with good results; if you do not append the city name you can add geo metatags for the best local results.
However your website is more geared towards NLP. There are almost nil searches for NLP and MS together.

SEO Menu Question
I have a question regarding to the SEO benefits of different types of menus. Recently, I have noticed an increasing number of websites with the sort of menu like at www.sportsdirect.com, where there is only one main dropdown and then everything is a sub-menu of the sub-menus if that makes sense. Is this approach more, less or equal beneficial to what you see at http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ where there are multiple initial dropdown menus? Appreciate the feedback.

Internal Duplicate Content Question...
We are looking for an internal duplicate content checker that is capable of crawling a site that has over 300,000 pages. We have looked over Moz's duplicate content tool and it seems like it is somewhat limited in how deep it crawls. Are there any suggestions on the best "internal" duplicate content checker that crawls deep in a site?

XML sitemaps questions
Hi All, My developer has asked me some questions that I do not know the answer to. We have both searched for an answer but can't find one.... So, I was hoping that the clever folk on Moz can help!!! Here is couple questions that would be nice to clarify on. What is the actual address/name of file for news xml. Can xml site maps be generated on request? Consider following scenario: spider requests http://mypage.com/sitemap.xml which permanently redirects to extensionless MVC 4 page http://mypage.com/sitemapxml/ . This page generates xml. Thank you, Amelia

Meta Keywords Good or Bad
Hi All, I've been reading more about the meta keyword tag and why it may not be a good idea to include them on pages and am looking for thoughts/feedback on this idea. If you have employed this tactic, can you give me some insight into any results you saw. If you decided to not employ this tactic, why did you choose not to? I wan to understand all sides of this before employing any changes to my company's websites. Thank you for your help!

Zero visits from keyword in Google Analytics
The keyword "business engagement in outsourcing" shows 0 visits. I have a look at Seomoz post at - http://www.seomoz.org/blog/advanced-google-analytics. According to it, "If someone makes more than one visit to a site within the same "session" and each visit comes from a search but on different keywords, then both keywords will be included in the keywords report - the first with 0 visits and the second with 1 visit" In my GA report, i could only see 0 visit for the above keyword. Why is 1 visit not being shown ? On reading the blog, http://webanalysis.blogspot.com/2008/04/google-analytics-tips-and-tricks-why-do.html#axzz1UPqhMV7o i am more confused, as it says "Google Analytics, assigns the visitors activity to the first keyword " . which is NOT what seomoz suggests
