One product two audiences, two pages or one

We have a product on the site that is used by two different groups of people, who refer to it with different terms. One group refers to it as "Lace yarn" plus around another 15 similar terms and the other group refers to it as "Crewel wool" with also 15 similar terms. I am having difficultly deciding how to approach this. At the moment it is on one page (http://www.renaissancedyeing.com/en/category/threads-yarns/crewel-wool/). would it be a good idea to split this into two pages?

As it is now I saw H2 = Category, I would try something like Crewel Wool - Swatches, etc.
To me, the meta description is the most underutilized tool in most web site arsenals. You can do so much with them. So, do that and as you go clean up what you can. It will all help.

Now I can't remember why I was hesitating over splitting that page.
Yes, I have the ongoing task of creating 200+ meta descriptions for the site There are H1's. Would h2's be preferred over highlighting relevant phrases in the site copy?

Simon,
I would personally go with two pages. Knowing you have two distinct types searching for this in two distinct ways, look at traffic for each query and you will likely see enough traffic going to each to warrant strengthening by dividing.
Do note that you really need to look at better on page SEO as well. That way, you improve your odds of someone finding you and when searching someone coming to your site (no meta description means the search engines are coming up with those for you. By not having H1, H2 , etc. you are missing opportunities to improve your ranking).Hope this helps,
Robert

Well I would create two pages if you think that you can produce good quality unique content in relation to each product term on an individual page. As you have two audiences you could target each for input such as reviews to help make each page unique.
The advantage for each is that you can clearly target the individual term in relations to page title, header, content, url name. Then if you look at ideas to build links to both you will succeed.

URL structure of the page: Does this one need to contain the most important keyword for better SEO?
Hi everyone, I’m trying to get "air-conditioner-repair.html" to rank higher for the keyword "air conditioner los angeles". I am wondering whether or not I should change URL to "air-conditioner-los-angeles-repair.html" to get better results? Will be thankful very much for any advise you can offer!

Too many links on product pages
Hello, What do you do if there are too many links on product pages? With 18 products per page, there's 2 links per product for 120 links on many pages. There's 50 products in many categories, categories are at most 1 click from the home page. Should we use pagination or not? Thanks

Old pages
I have a site where I have 5,000 new products each year, I never waned to deleted the old pages due to links pointing to them and keywords. But I now have 20,000 plus pages, does having that many pages spread out my link juice or does it effect me in any other ways over having a site with 5,000 pages or should I keep not deleting old pages so I dont loose any links? Along with that I currently do not link to my old pages from my site so Im guessing google does not get to them very often if at all, if you agree to still keep them should I link to them somewhere? Because the products are not that simiiar and they do bring added value I dont think canonical would work here

On Page Optimization Reports
How is it determined which terms and associated urls are chosen when SEOmoz tracks your On-Page Report Card? I'm receiving a lot of F Grades for terms I'm not really interested in and a lot of terms I'd like to be tracked aren't. Is there a way I can manually choose which terms and pages I'd like to be shown?

Can I have a strong brand category page and a strong product page?
It seems Google base and other Comparison Shopping Engines like to see the brand in the product name. But, on my category page for that brand, website optimizer tells me including the brand name with each product is cannabilizes links. For example; I have a page for jewelerABC with 20 pieces of jewelry listed as well as original content about jewelerABC. I do not currently name these products as xyz by jewelerABC. This page comes up nicely in the serps. But in Google base The top listings for jewelry by jewelerABC seem to have every product named xyz by jewelerABC or JewelerABC xyzs. What is the best way to optimize.for both? Stephen
