How do I know my SERP
-
Is there a tool to tell me my exact SERP?
I am trying to find a company on google. I have looked through hundreds of pages. Is there a tool to tell me exactly where it is currently ranked for a particular keyword?

I agree with Reload that tracking rankings isn't as important as it once was due to the ever increasing personalisation of search results. We keep track of the rankings for our SEO clients but usually keep that data in-house (unless a client requests them) because oftentimes clients will become fixated on the current ranking of a particular keyword. Instead, we provide data on the visits from each keyword, the number of different keywords that generated organic traffic, conversions/sales and ideally all of those numbers will gradually increase over the long-term.

Hi Joseph,
Streamline has made some great suggestions for rank checking software. In addition you can use the rank tracking within SEOMOZ or use Rank Tracker (http://www.link-assistant.com/rank-tracker/). It will save you a lot of time.
Bare in mind though with the ever increasing personalisation of results in Google, just use ranking reports as an indicator of performance. Not the ultimate metric.
Hope that helps

There are several rank trackers out there. I currently use www.cuterank.net. If you already know the keyword you want to find a website in the SERPs for, CuteRank should work for you.
Another tool is www.semrush.com, which will tell you all the keywords a particular website is ranking for.
Finally, I just saw that you have looked through hundreds of pages... if a website isn't found on the first page, let alone the first 10 pages or top 100 results, it might as well not rank at all since most users rarely ever dig past the first few pages...

SERP Ranking Page Filp Flop Confusion
Hello all, I've been having some weird stuff going on between one of my landing pages and the Homepage. What's happening is, the page showing up in the SERP keeps flip-flopping, but not only that, when it flips to the landing page it will drop 70 positions. Then when it flips back to the homepage it goes back to around position 19. So confused about what is happening. I think the two pages are fighting for the same keyword as they both have the keyword in the meta title. Homepage >( <title>PresenterMedia - PowerPoint Templates, 3D Animations, and Clipart</title> ) Landing Page >( <title>PowerPoint Templates at PresenterMedia.com</title> ) I've seen other answers about the flip-flopping thing, but not sure about dropping 70 positions thing that is going on. Does this huge drop tell me the better page to rank is the homepage instead of the landing page this targeting this keyword? Any help would be greatly appreciated

301 redirect to WWW on a 2 year old website with good SERPs and organic traffic?
Hi everyone, Recently someone pointed out that my website can be accessed in both ways i.e. by typing www.example.com or example.com. He further added that Google might identify this as duplicate content and penalize my website. So now I'm thinking about 301 redirection from non WWW to WWW using htaccess method. But my website is 2 year old now and I'm getting some decent traffic from Google. Will this redirection have an adverse effect on my rankings? Is there any other way to resolve this issue? I don’t want to lose my current rankings or organic traffic. Any help would be very much appreciated. P.S. Currently Google index my website pages with WWW.

Has anyone tested or knows whether it makes a difference to upload a disavow file to both www. and non-www. versions of your site in GWMT?
Although Google treats both as separate sites, I always assumed that uploading the disavow file to the canonical version of your site would solve the problem. Is this the case, or has anyone seen better results uploading to both versions?

Sudden 50% drop in SERP rankings
Hi, Our website is well established and has been growing every month until around Jan. 6th 2013. All of sudden our search rankings on Google dropped dramatically (nearly 50%). We getting tens of thousands fewer visitors through search results than normal. At the same time as the drop (almost to the day) we changed our forum software from Vbulletin3 to Vbulletin4. The forums are on a different subdomain, and our forum developer said there is no way the change would affect the main site. Is that true? So far, we have not been able to figure out what caused the sudden change. Maybe a Google update?

Searching on root domain words = ranking on > page 10 in SERP
Hello, Our website wingmancondoms.com (a new condom brand) is not ranking in Google on the keywords "wingman condom", and I don't know why. In Yahoo and Bing everything is allright. I saw on this forum that it is maybe best to change my language URL's to wingmancondoms.com/nl /de and /fr instead of a direct URL like http://www.wingmancondoms.com/wingman-kondome (german translation). But is this our problem or are there more problems. Google is indexing our page well, no errors etc. Any other possibilities?

Same day our sitemap finished processing in G WebTools, our SERP results Tank!
Need a little help troubleshooting an SEO issue. The day our sitemap finished processing in Google Webmaster Tools, almost all of our keyword serp results tanked. Our top 4 keywords routinely were placing from 11 - 33 rank in serp result and now they're not even on in the top 200? Would the sitemap processing have anything do do with this or should I look somewhere else. FYI: Site is build in DNN, sitemap is fine and robot.txt file is good. Open to all suggestions!!

Server crashed - What should I do regarding Google SERP´s?
We have several travel websites in Uruguay since 2003. These sites have a very high PR and Trust. The server where all our sites are hosted has crashed and we have been for 2 days now trying to fix all this mess. We hope this problem will be fixed today. Please I really need to know what should I do regarding Google. I mean one of our sites has been ranking in top 1 positions for more than 150 keywords. Will we loose all that? What can we do about it? It´s the first time this has happened to our sites.
