On-page SEO reviews
-
Hi everyone
I was hoping someone could point me in a direction on where I could get my website's on-page SEO a review with recommendations. Title tags, meta description, code, H1s, content and so on...
I know you can find most of what I'm asking online, but I would like a professional with a new set of eyes to help out.
Thanks in advance for your time in helping!

Hi,
There's a few things you can do straight away. I'll assume you're trying to rank for' Windshield Repair' for your homepage and 'Windshield Repair Austin' and other keywords for each of the 'Service Area' pages.
- Add keywords to your alt image tags. Currently the main image is 'crack auto glass' which isn't great from a SEO or usability point of view. Make sure they are not just plugged full of keywords, but actually describe your site and the image.
- Rename the main image as 'windshield-repair-austin.png' or something similar (depending on page). Ensure the other images have a good naming structure too.
- Use the keywords on each page you're trying to target. E.g. for http://www.autoglassrescue.com/service-areas/austin-tx you'll probably need to use a play on words so to speak. Something like "We offer the best windshield repair Austin has to offer". That way the keyword 'Windshield Repair Austin' is in the exact order of wording (you currently don't have it at all on that page).
- Better use of H2 tags - be more descriptive and think of sub headings that describe your site a little better
- Avoid cannibalization - don't target 'Windshield Repair Austin' on both the homepage and inner page. Focus on 1 page for each keyword (i.e change page titles etc so homepage focuses on generic terms and inner pages on location specific terms).
- Get more links! http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.autoglassrescue.com%2F You've got very few linking domains.
Hope this helps!

Of course the SEOmoz tools will highlight any on-site optimisation issues, or you could try the Screaming Frog crawler.
-
There are also a few programs that can automatically check a few things for you (headings, inbound links, metas etc). One such tool is seo-report.co.

Wrong page ranking on SERP, above more relevant page
Often I will see the wrong page, something less relevant to a particular search, appear higher on the SERP than a more relevant page. Why does this happen and how can it be remedied? I found this Moz article, has anything been written on this topic more recently. Thanks! https://moz.com/blog/wrong-page-ranking-in-the-results-6-common-causes-5-solutions

Review rich snippet with reviews hosted on customer feedback company's website?
Is it possible to enable rich snippets for reviews that are not visible on the page in question? A restaurant's Wordpress website mentions the average rating but the actual customer feedback and reviews are displayed on a page on the website of the feedback company. Would it be enough to implement a small widget (displays star rating, number of reviews and links to the review page) and add microdata/J-SON to convince search engines that the reviews are legit? Thanks in advance! Bas

Is it better to create more pages of content or expand on current pages of content?
I am assuming that one way of improving the rankings of current pages will be to create more content on the keywords used... should this be an expansion of the content on current pages I am optimising for a keyword or is it better to keep creating new pages and if we are creating new pages is it best to use an extension of the keyword on the new page – for example if we are optimising one page for ‘does voltage optimisation work’ would it then be worth creating a page optimised for ‘does voltage optimisation work in hotels’ for example and so on? I am guessing maybe both might help, this is just a question I have had from one of my clients.

Homepage SEO
Hi I have designed my site with about 10 pages which focus on my main keywords. My question is what should I do about the homepage? Do I focus on a keyword on just my brand name? The homepage is a showcase of all my services and a bit about us. Thanks

Removing OLD pages
Dear all, I was removing tons of old pages from my directory (about 400 pages), I was setingup a 404 custom page, all is fine, so when I go to an existing page I get a 404 and redirected to my 404 page. The problem is Google Webmaster tools list all these pages as 404, and never clean my list (1 year til now), so I assume something is wrong. Question what is the best way or natural to remove old pages from one directory? Note: previously I tryed add on these pages the NOINDEX/NOFOLLOW meta tag and I got from google Soft-404. Thank you

Canonical URLs and SEO
After publishing my new wordpress website my on page analysis shows two canonical urls on my homepage. In checking the source code the Yoast SEO plugin states my canoncial url is www.homepage.ca/ This is the only one showing. Having said this I do not add the trailing slash to anything on my url structure. Could this be why the on page analysis tool says there are 2? If so is there any way to resolve this?

Are blank Product Review pages bad for SEO?
Hi there, I'm running a new e-commerce site (BoatOutfitters.com) and have a question about our product review pages. On our current campaign, we have a lot of duplicate page content errors. When we export the data, it's almost all blank product review pages (since we are new, we don't have that many product reviews yet). Our product reviews aren't run through javascript, so we originally did not add them to a robots.txt file - however, I'm now wondering if it's worse to have all of these duplicate blank pages, or is it not affecting our SEO at all? Should we just wait until these products have reviews which will benefit our SEO and then they won't be considered "duplicate pages" - right? Sorry if this has been answered before - new here at SEO Moz and just looking for some help. Thanks!
