5xx Server Errors
-
Hey all,
Recently my site has seen a rise in 5xx errors which have all popped up since the first of the year.
Our company made a big announcement on 1/4 which drove a lot of traffic to the site, which I thought may be a reason for the sudden errors. But the errors have since continued. Also, the crawl from last week showed no errors at all (which I'm sure was a fluke)
Taking a closer look in GA, the pages that are receiving errors have not been visited for months.
Is this a random occurrence or should I consult someone to investigate our server?
Thanks,
Chris -
The crawl is showing that the errors are happening on very specific pages, so it may be a simpler solution like what you're describing.

One client I recently worked with had CloudFlare installed and it was causing tons of 500 errors. We removed it and they went away. Like I said see if you can identify specific pages it's happening on and isolate the code that is on those pages only. Good luck!

Thanks for the input, guys.
Looks like the move to make right now is double check code, then if the problem persists, dig into server issues.
-
This could also be something as simple as a bad code on some pages too. look at those old pages and see if there is a template or something associated with these pages that only they share. Might be isolating a script or disabling a plugin.

5xx errors refer to server errors, and can be caused by serious issues with the way your server is configured. I would definitely look investigate it further.

Error Code 902 & 403
Several thousand of these popped up on my Crawl Report and the links appear to be searches, i.e. below 902: http://thespacecollective.com/index.php?route=product/search&tag=nasa+ma-1+jacket%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F 403: http://thespacecollective.com/index.php?route=product/search&tag=periodic+table+tshirt%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F I don't want Moz, let alone Google finding this kind of nonsensical link but I don't exactly know what the problem is or how to fix it. Am I right in thinking these are pages people have searched for? Can anyone shed light on this please?

SEOmoz showing crawl errors but webmastertools says no errors, need help!
Hi this is my first question and i couldnt find a similar question on here. basically i have a clients website that is showing 150 duplicate page titles and content errors plus others. SEOmoz analysis is showing me for example is 3 duplicate hompage URLS: 1.www.domain.com 2.domain.com 3.www.domain.com/index.html all 3 are the same page. after explaining to the guy (who built the website) the errors, he ensured me that the main URL is URl 1. and the other 2 are 301 redirects. however SEOmoz analysis doesnt seem to change the results and webmastertools doesnt seem to show any errors at all. also if i try all 3 URL's there are no redirects to URL 1. any help or clarity would be awesome! Thanks e-bob

90% of our sites that are designed are in wordpress and the report brings up "duplicate" content errors. I presume this is down to a conical error?
We are looking at getting the Agency version of SEOMoz and are based in the UK Could you please tell me what would be the best way to correct this issue as this appears to be a problem with all our clients websites. an example would be www.fsgenergy.co.uk Would you also be able to suggest the best SEO plugin to use with SEOMOz ? Many thanks Paul

Lots of site errors after last crawl....
Something interesting happened on the last update for my site on SEOmoz pro tools. For the last month or so the errors on my site were very low, then on the last update I had a huge spike in errors, warnings, and notices. I'm not sure if somehow I made a change to my site (without knowing it) and I caused all of these errors, or if it just took a few months to find all the errors on my site? My duplicate page content went from 0 to 45, my duplicate page titles went from 0 to 105, my 4xx (client error) went from 0 to 4, and my title missing or empty went from 0 to 3. On the warnings sections my missing meta description tag went form a hand full to 444. (most of these looking to be archive pages.) Down in the notices I have over 2000 that are blocked by meta robots, meta-robots nofollow, and Rel canonical. I didn't have any where near this many prior to the last update of my site. I just wanted to see what I need to do to clean this up, and figure out if I did something to cause all the errors. I'm assuming the red errors are the first things I need to clean up. Any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated. Also if you'd like me to post any additional information, please let me know and I'd be glad to.

Is this an error in SEO Moz Pro Web App?
In the rankings section if I add these two terms to monitor They are both monitored: Fresh fish fresh fish Do search engines give more weight to capitals on some small scale or is this an error in the app? Thanks, Daniel.
