How can I improve my rankings in Google with help of seomoz
-
Hey guys,
I have joined seomoz today and set up campaigns for my sites. I got reports about keyword rankings, errors, notices etc.
But I am still confused about how to use seomoz in order to improve my rankings.
My point is does seomoz provides any services for improving position in google or simply seomoz provides only reporting?
These reports are good but my ultimate goal to join seomoz is to improve my rankings for my each website and each post.
Please help.

Webinars are also a good way to get caught up

White Board Friday is a very quick and dirty way to get campaign knowledge and tactics

Before you can even think about tools and reporting you need to have a foundation for where you want to be in a year, 2 years ect.. - these above resources can help you find what you are specifically good at in SEO realm and how to get better in other areas.
If you start with reporting, tools and just focusing on "Better Rankings" you will only be looking at the small picture and setting yourself up for a race you won't win.

I forgot to say: read Rand's post: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-do-i-find-a-good-seo

Hi Bhadresh, I have found that SEOMoz is an excellent source for reliable information on any topic in the SEO realm. Your ultimate goal may be realized- over time, because its a process, not a quick fix. If you put in time to understand and utilize the information in your reports, take advantage of the SEOMoz tools, read the two SEOMoz blogs and the Q&A forum on s consistent basis, you might surprise yourself with what you will learn and how much your own skills will improve. It's unavoidable. And who knows, if you put it out there, perhaps you'll even gain some valuable recommendations for companies that can assist you. Get to know the folks here- build a sense of who you can trust and potentially build a relationship with.

Thanks for your reply.
I can understand that no software can improve my rankings but what I am looking for is proper instructions i.e. what to do and how to do to get your rankings higher in google or get quality traffic on continuous and long term basis.

Hey David,
Thanks for your quick reply.
As I am complete newbie as far as seo is concerned so I am looking for ways to improve my rankings in Google.
I tried lots of services by other seo company or person but till date nothing worked out. In fact I tried some seo services with good reputation on fiverr.com but no results found.
I am not good in seo, link building, social media marketing and other ways which can boost my rankings and ultimately get quality traffic so I am looking for someone who can help me out.
Lets hope on seomoz I can get it.
Thanks again.

Completely agree. Additionally, any software that sells itself as being able to help your rankings is either lying, or using dodgy techniques that will be picked up and wiped out before long!
-
BJ, I'm afraid SEOmoz isn't going to do a single thing to improve the rankings for your website.
What it will do though, is give you tools, education and ideas to help you do this yourself. That's what you pay for if you sign up.
This is a process, not a single event that you pay for and get results - the good news is that if you spend time here, learn some good techniques and implement them into your marketing, good things will happen over time.
-
SEOmoz isn't affiliated with any of the search engines so there is nothing that SEOMoz can really do to actually help you achieve higher rankings for you.
The only way you can improve your rankings is to employ tried and tested best practise techniques and use the SEOMoz tools available to help you research, track and improve your chances of progression.
I don't believe there is a piece of software out there that can genuinely improve your rankings.

Can Someone explain why this site ranks #1 and #2? I am confused.
Hi everyone, Here is my problem. This site: https://247ride.com/town-cars/ ranks for bunch of really good keywords. Such as lax car service, car service to lax etc. The keyword does not appear in Title tag, and only partially on meta description. The site's DA is 23 and PA is 22. Less than 29 links overall, and linking domains 8. Why in your opinion Google is ranking this page #1 and #2 for many competitive keywords. I know it's a hard question to ask but any input would be greatly appreciated. I am working really hard to rank for same keywords and so far i am at #11 position. Thanks in advance, Davit

Help.. there was a html and php version of my home page on my server for about a week. Now lost all rankings!
Our home page has disappeared from the Google SERPS completely. It won't even show for a search of our business name although other internal pages appear. Site appears in bing for our keywords but not for our business name. When I republished the site I got a message saying there was a php and html version of the site on the home page. I deleted this immediately but was then advised by another staff member that they had also got that message the week before but not done anything about it - so I think it was out there for about a week. Could this be the cause of the ranking drop? We have also done the following: Checked GWM for robots issue, manual action, crawl errors, blocked URLs - all good. Some crawl errors on other pages relating to broken links. All sorted and marked as fixed. Checked for duplicate content - redirected non www version of site to www Checked back links Removed video from home page that was temporarily unavailable when we did fetch and render Added canonical tag Added H1 tag that was missing Coding checked - all looks good There has been no change to the content of the page. We have fetched and rendered and resubmitted for indexing but it's still not coming back in SERPS it did for a short time the other day and then after a couple of days disappeared again Prior to all this it had ranked really well for our most important keywords for years. It's not a new site. The page is indexed as it comes up when doing a site: search. Please can anyone help? Nobody seems to have the answer and we don't know what else to do. The site is NSFW NSFW https://goo.gl/dwA8YB Main keyword sex toy party

How to reverse declining Google rankings?
We have a long established business since 2004 and have been fortunate that having been one of the original companies in our industry, we have always enjoyed strong Google rankings. Unfortunately, these have been steadily declining over the past couple of years and a comparison of August to date against the equivalent period last year has seen a 20% drop in traffic from Google. We don't believe that it is being caused by a penalty and rather is the result of some strong players entering our market and tightening their focus which has caused us to take a dip in rankings. We are guilty of being complacent in our SEO - largely due to not knowing what to do and being scared to touch it when it was working in case we broke it! - but now it's time to fight back. We still have a strong site, good traffic levels and a strong product offering. We have knowledge of SEO and resources in house, but are not experts by any means. Our current plan is to: perform a technical site audit, fixing the issues highlighted by the Moz Pro Software put strong emphasis on our blog, writing daily about the latest news and events in our industry provide weekly content articles which are more in depth than the daily blog articles and which will be of interest to our community undertake surveys and publish infographics and statistics with the hope of being picked up in national newspapers Are there any key elements that we are missing out in this plan, or is that it in a nutshell? Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Previously ranking #1 in google, web page has 301 / url rewrite, indexed but now showing for keyword search?
Two web pages on my website, previously ranked well in google, consistent top 3 places for 6months+, but when the site was modified, these two pages previously ending .php had the page names changed to the keyword to further improve (or so I thought). Since then the page doesn't rank at all for that search term in google. I used google webmaster tools to remove the previous page from Cache and search results, re submitted a sitemap, and where possible fixed links to the new page from other sites. On previous advice to fix I purchased links, web directories, social and articles etc to the new page but so far nothing... Its been almost 5 months and its very frustrating as these two pages previously ranked well and as a landing page ended in conversions. This problem is only appearing in google. The pages still rank well in Bing and Yahoo. Google has got the page indexed if I do a search by the url, but the page never shows under any search term it should, despite being heavily optimised for certain terms. I've spoke to my developers and they are stumped also, they've now added this text to the effected page(s) to see if this helps. Header("HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently");

Can a Hosting provider that also hosts adult content sites negatively affect our SEO rankings on a non-adult site hosted on same platform?
We're considering moving a site to a host that also offers hosting for adult websites. Can this have a negative affect on SEO, if our hosting company is in any way associated with adult websites?

Any idea why I can't add a Panoramio image link to my Google Places page?
Hey guys & gals! Last week, I watched one of the Pro Webinars on here related to Google Places. Since then, I have begun to help one of my friends with his GP page to get my feet wet. One of the tips from the webinar was to geotag images in Panoramio to use for your images on the Places page. However, when I try to do this, I just get an error that says they can't upload it at this time. I tried searching online for answers, but the G support pages that I have found where someone asks the same question, there is no resolution. Can anyone help? PS - I would prefer not to post publicly the business name, URL, etc. So, if that info is needed, I can PM. Thanks a lot!

Help! Why did Google remove my images from their index?
I've been scratching my head over this one for a while now and I can't seem to figure it out. I own a website that is user-generated content. Users submit images to my sites of graphic resources (for designers) that they have created to share with our community. I've been noticing over the past few months that I'm getting completely dominated in Google Images. I used to get a ton of traffic from Google Images, but now I can't find my images anywhere. After diving into Analytics I found this: http://cl.ly/140L2d14040Q1R0W161e and realized sometime about a year ago my image traffic took a dive. We've gone back through all the change logs and can't find where we made any changes to the site structure that could have caused this. We are stumped. Does anyone know of any historical Google updates that could have caused this last year around the end of April 2010? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Ranking Factors for Google
Yesterday a blog post appeared on SEOMOZ titled 'A Tale Of Two Studies' - http://www.seomoz.org/blog/a-tale-of-two-studies-google-vs-bing-clickthrough-rate It suggested some of the ranking factors Google and Bing take into account when ranking. A few of them I want to talk about: Social Signals, Age of Domain and H1 HTML Tag So I thought age of domain and H1 both had some weight in Google? I guess not! And social signals, now I know it gives some weight but its right up there in the list for both SE's, so should getting likes, tweets, plus1's now be part of my everyday link building?
