Worth It to Post on Blog ? Need Guidelines and Tips for Newbie in Search of Links
-
I'm searching relevant Blog for pages where I can post content about furnace filters.
I want to build link to my online store http://www.furnacefilterscanada.com
In a SEO point of view, is it worth it to post content and leave my URL?
Here are some example of blog I leave content today using my name, jean nichols:
some need ''admin'' approval:

Takeshi is right, but I'll chime in that the whole purpose of SEO is to increase traffic to one's website. It follows that if your targeted blog comments produce an increase in traffic, then they have boosted your SEO program.
The link Takeshi sent is a fantastic reference. I highly recommend it also. It is one of my favorite blog posts of all time and I refer to it often. He is right that there are probably some quicker "wins" in terms of tactics (in comparison to blog commenting) on that list.
Cheers!

The blog you left a comment on is nofollow, which means it has little to no SEO value.
Honestly, comment links may have some value, but it's almost never worth your time if you are just doing it for link building purposes. There are dozens of link building tactics you could be using that will have a much bigger impact on your rankings. Here is a good list of ideas:

I think blog commenting can still certainly be effective for SEO when it's done right. I think you're on the right track. I read your first comment and I have a suggestion that hopefully will make your comments more authentic, and hopefully then, get them read and noticed a little bit more.
If I were you I would completely disclose who you are and that you are in the business of selling furnace filters. Do this above and beyond just putting it in your link. Be authentic and conversational. The beginning of your comment started out good, because I felt like I was getting some good information and advice. But the end (particularly when you asked me to Google a specific term), struck me as a pitch, and that was a bit of a turn off.
Can commenting work? Yes. Just remember to be real, write conversationally (no marketing-speak) and above all, give more than you get.
Good luck Jean, I hope this helps!

Why am I getting links in my link report from sites that no longer exist?
So, I have a link report from Link Detox. And I'm going through all of them and considering what sites need to be removed. and trying to find emails and contact webmasters. There is just one odd thing i'm starting to see more of. A lot of links are on websites or webpages that no longer exist. The link no longer exists. Some of the domains are even available for purchase. Why are these links showing on the backlink report and are they really harming my website? Also, do I need to add these links into the disavow document that I will submit to Google?

Greetings! Actually, got an doubt on linking to external site. The thing, i have working for roof marketers site. They have covered roof products. Each of the products have a page along with major keyword. Actually, i do link from other pages[internally]. But, i remove the third party-link which has with main keywords. Since already the site/my client site having pages for that main keywords. But client really want that link. meaning the links which they have given to direct to third party[product producer] site. So what should i do at this case. Can i just past RAW link like [http://www.thirdpartysite.com] or what do i do. But my client wants that link to be in content area. Hope you would understand my long explanation and case Please help us. Thank you

Blog's Homepage isn't indexed even though posts are
My blog http://www.cleanedison.com/blog/ doesn't seem to be indexed by Google even though my posts seem to get indexed within a day or so. Is this not necessarily a bad thing? I feel like it would be nice to search "CleanEdison Blog" and get the homepage. The robots say: name="robots" content="noodp, noydir, noarchive" /> Is there anything I can do? P.S. My posts that get picked up by larger entities generally get ranked lower than the offshoot even though I have a rel="canonical" tag. Anything I can do there?

Facebook Mentions...are they worth the effort to get as back links?
I'm currently focusing on link building for one of the websites I work on. In reviewing past customers, I see quite a few that do not have a blog, but do have social media pages like Facebook, for their business. I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to get them to "mention" the website with a link and brief comment from their Facebook page. Thanks for any/all input.
