Hi Swimby, has your question been resolved? You've received some great answers!
-
Irving's exactly right here. External ranking factors could well be responsible for how the page is doing.
HOWEVER! If your page is ranking an F for on-page optimization, it means you are probably wasting some of the power of those off-page factors. This may not be an issue at the moment, but remember - your competitors are continually working to improve their pages that are competing with yours. So you should be using everything in your arsenal to make your pages harder for the competition to beat.
Fixing your on-page may not improve your already top rank, but will almost certainly help you keep that top ranking longer in the face of increased competition.

Your URL may be successful because of external and internal link juice being passed to it. The F grade only takes into account page optimization.

This actually happens quite a bit and specifically for long-tails.

Can you provide the url and keyword you are referencing?

Reducing number of site pages?
Hi, I am looking through my site structure and I have a lot of pages left over from the days of article keywords. Probably 7 or 8 years ago, someone sold my husband on article key word pages. I have slowly gotten rid of a lot of them as they have fallen out out of the ranks. I would like to get rid of the rest, probably 5 or 6 pages. Will it hurt my rankings to delete pages and redirect them? My customers really like the simplicity of our site and I want to keep it that way, plus clean up flags that Moz is telling me is a problem. I think its easier to keep less pages top notch than have to worry with a lot of them. Especially since my customers aren't viewing them. Thanks in advance!

Number of keyowrds
Hi there, my question: is there a limit of keywords we can optimize for? I mean my site has 12-15 different pages I can optimize for different keywords. I just heard that it's convinient not to optimize for many keywords o criteria. Is that right? Thanks in advanced.

Is it a problem to have the same phone number on two websites in same niche?
is it a problem to have the same phone number on two websites in same niche? For instance if I had two completely different websites for one painting contractor client. All the content is completely different other than the logo and phone. It is in the same niche for "spokane painters and spokane painting contractor" .. will google see the same phone and penalize?

Can somebody help me with a "Grade F" report
My Seomoz account tells me i've got a Grade F for my on-page optimalisation. The report said there's no single "on page keyword" usage at the whole page. Can somebody tell me what went wrong? If you take a look at my website: www.oceandrivers.nl, you'll see that i've used the keyword "prive chauffeur huren" everywere. In the URL, the H1 etc. (See image)

Does reading grade level affect rankings? What level should I write for?
Search engines measure the reading level of your page. But how does it affect ranking? Should I be aiming more for a low or high Flesch–Kincaid grade level?

Ranking on page 5 for a 1% difficulty keyword
Hello mozers, I am going crazy over this. I have designed a new site www.smh.cz. The company name / kw is unique (Smolikova Mikulas Hendrich), but it appears on page 5 on Google.

Yahoo and Bing is fine (in top 3 positions). All the on-page factors are ok too.
All the smh.cz pages are indexed on Google. We have done a 301 redirect of two other domains (sm-legal.cz and smm-partners.cz) which were websites for the firms prior to forming a new one. I am scratching my head over what does Google dislike so much. Any thoughts? Can the smh.cz domain - which previously had some dodgy insurance content - be the reason? Your help is much appreciated.
