I would use what you propose only if I thought that adding the word "house" or "garden" was going to increase the keyword reach of the optimization. I would not add them unless I had keyword frequency that convinces me that they will qualify the page for a much larger number of queries.
People do not "read" the SERPs. They "scan" the SERPs.
For that reason I believe that
**Plastic Flower Pots - Free Delivery! **
will be read and understood by more people. The free delivery is not lost ad the end of the title tag.
I also believe that this shorter title tag is stronger optimization.
Why doesn't Google head more in the direction of descriptive titles rather then shorter the better?
IMO, shorter is better for the searcher and for google.
Which of these slaps the scanning searcher's face with the product and free delivery?
Plastic Flower Pots for the house and garden with free delivery

I believe that "free delivery" is lost in the longer version.

I know your version EGOL will work better end of, I just think my version which is written for the user (as Google always recommends) is more descriptive of the page.

I would use this.....
Plastic Flower Pots - Free Delivery!
It gives you both "flower pots" and "plastic flower pots" as exact matches in a very short tag.
"Free delivery" shouts a value proposition and elicits clicks.
This title tag is short, very clear, easy to understand.
If my brand is visible and easy to recognize in the URL I would not repeat it in the title tag.

I'm a big fan of the 'keyword + CTA + Brand' form but sometimes it just flows over 70 chars so to be safe (unless its a big brand) dump the brand term.
One thing im trying to do is not dilute the key terms but at the same time not sound like a robot, I think this structure is a killer for CTR's - Keyword, Keyword, Keyword | Brand.

I would suggest "flower pots- plastic flower pots with free delivery" ... reasons same as above, though I would suggest possibly using "plastic flower pots with free delivery | brand" to remove the repetition which can often be seen as spamming and keyword stuff especially as you are then likely to use the term again in your meta description and url

I'm not big on the keyword-overstressed /redundant keyword titles. I think this is just as effective:
Plastic Flower Pots [brand]
or
Flower Pots - Plastic [brand]
and use "free delivery in your description. If that's too trim for you, I'd go with #2 or #3 - minus the "with" or "from".

If not as Tom says, make sure Free Delivery is stated in the Meta Description and Prominently H1/2 tagged at the top of the page.

Tricky one, because I think including free delivery is a big call to action and quite often you see an increase in click-through rates when you use it.
I am also a fan of including your brand in your title tags.

That's 62 characters, so it shouldn't be truncated unless your brand name is particularly long. If it exceeds 70 characters with your brand name, I would use:
Flower Pots - Plastic Flower Pots from [Brand]
And include free delivery in the first sentence of your meta description, so it's not missed.

What does Google consider a "Duplicate Title Tag?"
Do the title tags have to be exactly the same, or can they have some of the same keywords but different context? Hypothetical example: Home Page = Raising a Kitten, Tips & Tricks for a Healthy Cat Sub-Page = How to Cat-Proof your Home when Raising a Kitten Since both title tags has "raising a kitten," "cat" and "tips" would this be considered a "Duplicate Title Tag" even though the pages have completely different content in them? Image Alt and Title?
I'm building a quotations website. Each quotation will have between 1 and 5 images (picture quotes) associated with it. The images will be featured as thumbnails (image gallery) on the quote post itself. How should I handle the image alt and title tags so that I rank better for a quote in image search, and also strengthen the ranking signals on the quote post itself? Take for example, a photo of a beach and a photo of the sun. Both have the same quote on it: "Laughter is an instant vacation." Should the quote itself go into the alt tag? while the description of the image goes into the title? Or should the quote go into the title? Would this be correct? Title: Beach with children playing in the sand. Alt: "Laughter is an instant vacation." Title: Sun shining in the sky. Alt: "Laughter is an instant vacation." What about if the quote is very long? Google has said they like when the alt and title tags are short.

Google Results Title Tag HELP
Can anybody tell us why Google changes your title tag in the SERP? Title Tag length and UTF-8
Hello seomozers! Today I've come to one interesting question about Title Tag lenght in UTF-8 coded content. It's relevant to description tag lenght too. So, as we all know SEO best practices recommend that my Title tag should be under 70 (or 75) characters. Now, we have a website which is UTF-8 coded. That means that our special characters (some lithuanian letters) at the end gains +4 or +5 characters in length. So Google Webmaster Tools in our case report that some Title Tags are longer than they should be (exceeded by those +4 or +5), but in SERPs we see clear and not trunctated Title Tags (which means that our title tags are displayed correctly in UTF-8). The question is - should I believe in SERPs and don't take any action or maybe should I notice Google Webmaster Tools recommendations and shorten those tags ? Well, I do believe that at the end it's not so important, but I'd like to hear some more opinions on this simple situation.

Does it matter what text you wrap in an H1 tag?
Typically H1 tags are reserved for page headings, i.e. on a blog post the blog post title is very often the pages H1, or top-level heading as the W3C puts it. On the SEOmoz home page they currently have "SEO Software." as their H1 tag, which seems perfectly reasonable and to me fits the W3C criteria. However, what if the primary keyword for SEOmoz was "seo community" so they decided to wrap just those two words in the sentence that follows on their home page and maintain the existing style of the words "seo community" with CSS. (see attachment) Are there any arguments against doing that? Would Google be able to detect this? If so, would Google care? I do believe the overall importance of the H1 tag has lessened to a degree, however I still believe they are valuable to an extent and would love to hear anyone's thoughts. 7NZcD.png

Meta Description Tags and Rankings
Hi there, I have a lot of pages set up on my site but most have no content. If I add the correct meta description tags to those pages, will that help rank for the root domain? I am slowly getting the content added for each page but wanted to see if I could boost rankings in the meantime. http://www.petmedicalcenter.com Example: most of pages under "Services" are blank.
