-
Target terms:
Flower Pots, Plastic Flower Pots (in order of importance)

2. Flower Pots - Plastic Flower Pots with Free Delivery
3. Flower Pots - Plastic Flower Pots from [Brand]Which one would you choose and why?
If you want to produce another type please do but explain why you think yours is better than the above.
Thanks

Nice come back.
Don't really have anything else to say, your argument won me over on the first read.
Thanks.

Plastic Flower Pots for the house and garden with free delivery
Is more UX friendly then Plastic Flower Pots - Free Delivery!.
I would use what you propose only if I thought that adding the word "house" or "garden" was going to increase the keyword reach of the optimization. I would not add them unless I had keyword frequency that convinces me that they will qualify the page for a much larger number of queries.
People do not "read" the SERPs. They "scan" the SERPs.
For that reason I believe that
**Plastic Flower Pots - Free Delivery! **
will be read and understood by more people. The free delivery is not lost ad the end of the title tag.
I also believe that this shorter title tag is stronger optimization.
Why doesn't Google head more in the direction of descriptive titles rather then shorter the better?
IMO, shorter is better for the searcher and for google.
Which of these slaps the scanning searcher's face with the product and free delivery?
Plastic Flower Pots for the house and garden with free delivery
****Plastic Flower Pots - Free Delivery! ****
I believe that "free delivery" is lost in the longer version.
-
Thanks,
Do you think this shortened version will allow the keyword to hold more weight?
From a quality point of view this:
Plastic Flower Pots for the house and garden with free delivery
Is more UX friendly then Plastic Flower Pots - Free Delivery!.
I know your version EGOL will work better end of, I just think my version which is written for the user (as Google always recommends) is more descriptive of the page.
Why doesn't Google head more in the direction of descriptive titles rather then shorter the better?
-
I would use this.....
Plastic Flower Pots - Free Delivery!
It gives you both "flower pots" and "plastic flower pots" as exact matches in a very short tag.
"Free delivery" shouts a value proposition and elicits clicks.
This title tag is short, very clear, easy to understand.
If my brand is visible and easy to recognize in the URL I would not repeat it in the title tag.
-
Nice, thanks everyone.
I'm a big fan of the 'keyword + CTA + Brand' form but sometimes it just flows over 70 chars so to be safe (unless its a big brand) dump the brand term.
One thing im trying to do is not dilute the key terms but at the same time not sound like a robot, I think this structure is a killer for CTR's - Keyword, Keyword, Keyword | Brand.
-
I would suggest "flower pots- plastic flower pots with free delivery" ... reasons same as above, though I would suggest possibly using "plastic flower pots with free delivery | brand" to remove the repetition which can often be seen as spamming and keyword stuff especially as you are then likely to use the term again in your meta description and url
-
I'm not big on the keyword-overstressed /redundant keyword titles. I think this is just as effective:
Plastic Flower Pots [brand]
or
Flower Pots - Plastic [brand]
and use "free delivery in your description. If that's too trim for you, I'd go with #2 or #3 - minus the "with" or "from".
-
I would also go with:
Flower Pots - Plastic Flower Pots with Free Delivery | [Brand] (if possible)
If not as Tom says, make sure Free Delivery is stated in the Meta Description and Prominently H1/2 tagged at the top of the page.
-
Tricky one, because I think including free delivery is a big call to action and quite often you see an increase in click-through rates when you use it.
I am also a fan of including your brand in your title tags.
Would this work for you?
Flower Pots - Plastic Flower Pots with Free Delivery | [Brand]
That's 62 characters, so it shouldn't be truncated unless your brand name is particularly long. If it exceeds 70 characters with your brand name, I would use:
Flower Pots - Plastic Flower Pots from [Brand]
And include free delivery in the first sentence of your meta description, so it's not missed.
Just my two pennies!

Tags - Good or bad for SEO
We are getting Moz errors for duplicate content because tag pages share the same blog posts. Is there any way to fix this? Are these errors bad for SEO, or can I simply disregard these and ignore them? We are also getting Moz errors for missing descriptions on tag pages. I am unsure how to fix these errors, as we do not actually have pages for these on our WordPress site where we are able to put in a description. I have heard that having tags can be good for SEO? (We don't mind having several links that show up when searching for us on google...) As far as the SEO goes, I am not sure what to do. Does anyone know the best strategy?

Should title contain the term Top 10?
One of my clients' run a hyperlocal marketplace (have different pages for each city) to hire music teachers. Should the title be "Hire Violin Teachers, Tutors from Boston"? or "Top 10 Violin Teachers of Boston". I prefer former title as it has 2 keywords - "violin teachers", "violin tutors" than latter. But my client argues that "Top 10" has a strong affinity to attract users that would increase CTR. Am I right? or Is he right? and Why?

Do you say Browser Title or Page Title?
I have seen much more use of "Page Title" of late....in fact hardly any of "Browser Title" except by some folks who are using a very old CMS. We need to go with one at my workplace to avoid confusion. My vote is Page Title. Thoughts? Thanks, Tim

How to separate your - keywords - and | Brand name in the Title Tag
I have traditionally used hyphens (-) and vertical bars (|) to separate out keywords/brands in title tags. A client has asked if other characters will work such as tilde (~), apersat (@), forward slash (/) etc. Are there any special characters we should steer clear of?

To enter keyword meta tags or to not enter keyword meta tags?
I've been doing SEO for awhile, but new to SEOMoz. I'm surprised that SEOMoz does not recommend keyword meta tags. I didn't enter them for the longest time because I know Google doesn't care about them. However, I did read that other search engines DO use them. And therefore that is why you should have them. I teach my customers about SEO, and I know it would be much easier for them not to enter or worry about the keyword meta tags. However, I would love to hear opinions here. And to Bing/Yahoo put any weight into them or is it only really small search engines? Thanks! Hilary

Title and Heading Tags
Firstly I would like to comment on how helpful this site is. I haven't posted much before but have been reading tonnes of answers for many months now and have been finding it really useful. I used the SEOmoz scanner and the main problem highlighted was duplicate content so I started to add 'customer product reviews' I had received and unique 'further information' to each page (hopefully this was the right thing to do to solve duplicate content! : ) ) Then I looked at heading and title tags. Currently I set title tags for each product page to be "Brand Name- Product Name" but after doing some research we are thinking of putting Keyword Description of Product | Product Name | Brand Name (around 60 characters long). So is this the advised thing to do and create unique titles that are relevant to each specific product page for over 200 pages we have? In addition, any advice on setting optimum tags would be great. We keep reading varying tips online. I gather ideally h1 needs to be a shorter keyword rich version of the title tag? Many Thanks
