Is it better to target fewer keyword terms more often throughout a site or more keyword terms less often?

For example we have 5 different briefcases styles on our site with 5 different colors each.
Is it better to have them all target the same keyword term:
ie.
Men's Leather Briefcase Bag - Examiner No. 5 Black Leather | Ghurka
Men's Leather Briefcase Bag - Examiner No. 5 Brown Leather | Ghurka
Men's Leather Briefcase Bag - Examiner No. 5 Tan Leather | Ghurka
Men's Leather Briefcase Bag - Examiner No. 5 Black Twill | Ghurka
Men's Leather Briefcase Bag - Examiner No. 5 Navy Twill | Ghurka
etc.
OR
Men's Leather Briefcase Bag - Examiner Leather Bag for Men | Ghurka
Leather Men's Briefcase Bag - Examiner Leather Bag for Men | Ghurka
Leather Handmade Briefcase - Examiner Leather Bag for Men | Ghurka
Men's Designer Business Bag - Examiner Leather Bag for Men | Ghurka
Leather Men's Laptop Bag - Examiner Leather Bag for Men | Ghurka

I would go with the latter.
Remember that the keyword, meta title, description and h1-tag on the pages should be as distinguishable as possible AND be as descriptive as possible.
Also, you should consider if the page for the brown leather bag is more or less equal to the page for a black leather bag. If the only difference is a couple of words I would consider a canonical link for each color to the "main color" page. Duplicate content would make it hard for you to rank.

Hi Taylor, in my opinion it's alawys better to variate your keywords just because you may achieve more traffic focusing on different keywords that only just one. Moreover focusing 5 different pages to the same keywords will only led you to cannibalize one with the other.
I'mnot google but if I see your title I don't know which page to rank for men leather briefcase bag. You got 5 pages so google will just choose one and discrad the others. In the second example you're highly targeting your pages to a specific keyword and avoid them to compete with each other. Google will be more aware on which page to choose for each thing.

Why I am ranking for irrelevant keywords
My website is e-commerce and used to rank for all industry related keywords like buy widgets, cheap widgets, online widgets in top10. And suddenly my website was hacked and to resolve this hacking issue i have re-write all my dynamic urls into static pages after that new pages are indexed and ranking well. But after few months i have notice few changes in keywords ranking going down. But suddenly after Google Algo (EMD/Panda) update on Sept 27 i lost all my positions. But i have notice small percent of changes in keyword positions like when Google Algo (EMD/Panda) is rolled out i lost my keyword positions from 1st page to 200 page and after working on over optimization and low quality pages the keywords are came back to 100 pages. Recently i have notice that my web pages ranking for irrelevant keywords. For example, let's say i used to rank for home page for these keywords; buy widgets, cheap widgets, online widgets but now am ranking for different inner pages say (guide pages). Can any one suggest me whats wrong..

I have two pages ranking for the same keyword.
The index page and the targeted landing page for that keyword. They have different content, title, meta but I am competing with myself for the main keyword in the industry. What is the best way to fix this? 301 the keyword page to the index page?

Duplicate Page Titles and Keywords
Still new to this SEO world, so please bear with me. I have an eCommerce site so one of the issues is duplicate content and page titles. So what I was thinking was this...for each product that I sell I have 4 or 5 keywords that I have targeted. For example for personalized iPhone cases I have decided on: iphone 4 case personalized, monogrammed iphone 4 case, personalized and monogrammed iphone case, preppy phone case, personalized iPhone case, monogrammed iPhone case For each of my products I was going to a product description (ie: trendy color block diagonal stripes) and a targeted keyword. But I was going to rotate the keywords through so as to try to avoid the duplicate page title issue. Will that help? Thanks much, Shara

Too many on page links on ecommerce site
I have an online store with 10 catagories, many of those have subcategories. I have a tree style navigation menu on the page. This helps people quickly find what they need. However, I end up with about 125 links on the page that way. Does google really penalize me for this? Is there anyway around this? Advice much appreciated!

SEO Titles and Keyword Density
Hey guys, I'm doing some on page SEO for a few clients and I've always wondered about this question. Keywords with accents
Hi, We are running a website in Spain to teach touch typing to children (www.mecanografia.com). Our main keyword is mecanografia (touch typing in Spanish) which is official written with an accent on the i. Our SEOMOZ on page optimization report was initially an F because we set the keyword mecanografia without an accent and on the page we use the grammatically correct version with an accent on the i. Once we added the keyword with accent to SEOMOZ our rapport was upgraded to an A. Our question is: how does Google treat accents. Is it necessary to optimize for words with and without accent or does one version suffice. Users search about 50% of the time without using the accent. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
