How can I check if the FOLLOW,NOINDEX tag is working?
-
Hi everyone!
After reading about pagination practices, a few days ago we introduced the <meta name="robots" content="FOLLOW,NOINDEX" /> tag, to prevent duplicate content.
You can find an example below:
http://www.inmonova.com/en/properties?page=2
I have been checking yahoo site explorer and result pages still get indexed. My question is:
Am I doing something wrong? Is the code incorrect (follow, noindex - noindex, follow)? Or does it just take some time to have effect?
Thanks in advance.

Excactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

There are sites out there like http://www.noindexchecker.com/ that will help you double check your work

Thank you very much for your quick responses!
I will wait patiently to see those dulicates drop down

Daniel is correct. You just need to be more patient.
Websites are crawled in pieces. The crawler can grab 10% of your site each day. It depends upon the popularity of your site, the popularity of the content within your site, how well your site is linked, along with other factors.
You have done all you can for now. You will see your pages start disappearing from search results.

The code is correct and I see that there are 0 links to that results page - the only thing I can think of is the search engines indexed the page before you added the tag!

Title Tags & Keyword Order
Hi I've read various articles on this - some saying it's still important to have the keyword at the beginning of the title and some saying it's not a big factor anymore? Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Should I use **tags or h1/h2 tags for article titles on my homepage**
I recently had an seo consultant recommend using tags instead of h1/h2 tags for article titles on the homepage of my news website and category landing pages. I've only seen this done a handful of times on news/editorial websites. For example: http://www.muscleandfitness.com/ Can anyone weigh in on this?

H Tags Vs "H Style" Tags?
Hey everybody! So I was wondering what the difference between the H tags and "H Style". My first thought is that it's just the style guide, and not actually a meta tag, but before I go around changing all these styles I want to make sure my computer isn't going to explode SEO juice. Thanks!

Doubt with no follow links: disavow or no action?
We have a google penalty (artificial links) we have checked our link profile with link detox, and we found that a group of links that has no follow tag have been classified as toxic (stats websites mostly). But should we remove those links or what? They are no follow, it shoud be enough. Should we include this links on the spreadsheet anyway? Should we include and add "no action taken"? How would you proceed in that case? Note: I know link detox is not great, but it helped us to collect data. But we have now to make decisions about the results, and I'm new on this and I have doubts. I would appreciate your help Thank you!!!

Is this keyword easy to rank? how can I estimate what kind of work it takes.
I am Using Micro Niche Finder KeyWord: Send SMS online domain available: .org Avg. Monthly searches: 1600 Adword cost : 2.12 Measure of Back link: 633 SOC: 20 (green) Most of the Back link using Majestic SEO appear to be coming from sendhub.com and massmailsoftware.com website. I researched sites with these keywords and those sites appear to have tiered pricing plans and appear to be charging money for their services. My plan, put some effort in organic SEO and rank this site to page 1. Get some optin users and start communicating with them to see what is their pain point. How can I tell on what it takes to rank this page to page 1 on google? Would it take lot of blog articles for back link and if so… how many? Is a rough estimate possible. Thanks.

Do Follow and No Follow Attributes?
I have a blog on Trulia and Active Rain which are real estate websites. I see that they both are Do Follow. My question is how much link juice do these sites pass a long to my site when I write a blog post on these sites and create a link to my main site? I've heard somewhere that even though a link has a Do Follow attribute it passes little link juice in certain cases like a no follow attribute. Also, if a link is a No Follow link, does it still pass along some link juice or is it completely juiceless. Is there a way to see which sites pass the most link juice to my site? Thanks all.
