Question about ranking for long tail keywords
-
So I am looking at some long tail keywords for my web design company, for example:
"website development and design company"
The top results are websites that are not optimized for that specific keyword but about "web design & development" in general. The top ranking sites also have quite high PA with lots of links.
If I were to create a page specifically about that term would it be fairly easy to rank for since the top ranking pages are not optimized for that keyword?
-
not necessarily, overall good rank factors would mean that semantically you end up in the same place - you maybe the best at your term but they are best at relating to that term (if that makes sense)

A Solution to Keywords Being Grouped in Google Keyword Planner
Hi guys, I am trying to get search traffic for a list of keywords which I put together a few years ago for one of my clients, this was before Google made changes to their Keyword Planner. When I am adding the list into Google Keyword Planner it is "grouping" a number of the keywords/phrases together, and therefore removing 13 of the keywords from the original list of 59 keywords. Is there a way around this so I can get search volume for the original list, and not the cut down one? I am specifically using Google Keyword Planner as I want to get search volume for a number of specific locations in the UK. Any comments/feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Jack. Optimizing Webpages for Keywords- Using Text Links to Distribute Internal Page Rank
My Manhattan based commercial real estate firm hired an SEO firm. The company conducted a content audit, created a keyword matrix and suggested optimizing 51 pages for specific keywords. A specific price per page was quoted, which I understand and accept. I was under thought that setting up internal text links to redistribute page rank and thereby improve ranking for competitive terms was included in the price. But this task was not included in their quote. I really want to avoid getting nickeled and dimed to death. Should this cost be included, or legitimately is setting up the internal link structure something that is an additional expense? If this task is legitimately an extra, how labor intensive is it? A lit bit of extra time when re-writing pages or a completely different task that would be quite time consuming? Also, I believe the flow of page rank within a site can have a big effect on ranking, so setting up internal links is critical. Are these assumptions correct? For some background, www.nyc-officespace-leader.com gets 4,500 organic visits per month. Google Page Rank is 2 and the site was hit by Panda in 2012 but has partially recovered. I would really appreciate some insight from the MOZ community. I do not want to pay too much or too little for these services. THANKS, Alan

What is the best way to do a one time rankings check of 10000+ keywords
Title pretty much sums it up. At the pricing moz offers this is not practical. Even at their highest tier i would only get 3700 keywords, so it would take several months to get the results.

After 10th August ranking has changed
Good evening, I hava a questiong regardin the ranking after 10th August. I hava an online tire shop and the ranking has changed that means I was on the first position on search term "anvelope" and now I am on the 3 rd place. I have unique content, few duplicate content and still in front of my site there are sites with huge duplicate content and not so unique. Is it a coincidence that the position has changed on the 10 August or I was affected by Emanuel? How Emanuel update can affect an online tire shop? In other city's I am on the firs place. My site is www.anvelope.ro Thank's Florin

Optimizing for two nearly identical keywords.
Hi Mozzers, So in one of my campaigns I'm trying to optimize for "Personal Trainer Minneapolis" and "Minneapolis Personal Trainer". Would the best tactic be: Develop and optimize two pages. One for each of these similar keywords. (Clearly not the best UX). or Try to optimize a single page for both. Thanks for your thoughts!

How do you check your KW rankings?
I'm currently using the PRO campaigns to track my main keywords. However, I'm trying to do some research on KW opportunities, and having no luck finding a way to conveniently check rankings for new keywords. What tool do you use to get ranking results for large keyword lists?

Google Keyword tool data + No. 1 Serp rank =/= to taffic on landing page
So a keyword we are targeting "painted bedroom furniture" google keyword tool says gets 480 exact local searches (and 880 broad), and in the same local google we have ranked 1st for months (and currently we are 2nd and 3rd too), but looking at the google analytics that landing page has only gotten 78 unique page views from searches and only 21 from "painted bedroom furniture" . (the 2nd link gets 12 page views and the 3rd gets none, from that keyword) Now for me that does not make sense! For other keyword which we rank No.1 the keyword data and analytics generally match/make sense. Is there something I'm missing?
