PPC/Adwords in China
-
I am trying to understand the challenges of running PPC in China. If anyone has any experience with adwords/Baidu/Alibaba I would really appreciate them sharing. I was having a hard time locating the specific polices in Adwords help. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks!

Were your ads in English or Mandarin for Adwords?
-
There is an agency that specializes in PPC advertising on Baidu called adSage. Even if you're not looking for an agency, you could contact them and ask about the challenges of advertising in China.
-
We have been targeting adwords at China for a while and seen some success. But getting into Baidu, we had to use a Chinese native to help us get in. If you try to contact them via the English site, they never respond.
Of course, you will want to have Mandarin/Cantonese landing pages/site depending on what part of China you are targeting.
I hope that helps a bit.

Do IP and/or DNS changes impact Paid search (Adwords, Bing, etc.)
What impact (if any) does IP or DNS changes, have on paid search campaigns? We recently performed an upgrade to our sites that required a datacenter change (but within the same region East US) and DNS change. We believe there may have been an impact to our ad campaigns in the form of suppression of our ads following the change, specifically - Google Adwords. Is there any information regarding this issue or has anyone experienced this before? Thanks

Adwords Expanded Text Ads - How are they working for you?
I think it would be nice to get a consensus from more people. The day expanded text ads came out last week, I immediately jumped on it and created them for all my campaigns. I still left some of the old ads running in each ad group so that I could compare. Looking at the conversion data from the last week, the conversion rates are between 2-7x lower on the expanded text ads, and as a result, the cost per conversion is 2-5x higher as well. Basically, they're performing horribly. The click-through rate is mildly higher, but who cares if they're not converting? I know it's only a week's worth of data, but it seems the difference is enough to be statistically significant. I'm wording what everyone else's experience has been.

Baidu PPC Agency Recommendations
I have a client that is a perfect fit for the Chinese market, but have had issues with reseller agencies that don't really know what they are doing. Does anyone have any agency recommendations? I am only spending a few grand a month.

Is PPC worthwhile for a product with no search volume?
I'm working on a PPC campaign for a client who provides a luxury service. He has very little search volume in general, and there's one product that has no volume at all. I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to run a campaign for this product using the general keywords. I estimate that 95% of the population has no intention of using our service and can't afford it even if they did. For example, say we're a concierge doctor service. When people search for 'medical doctor' or 'medical treatment' they are looking for doctors, and we probably could help them, but they won't want us when they could go to the doctor's office down the street and pay a fraction of the price. Obviously I'd tailor the keywords so it would be as relevant as possible. Yay: If my ads are clear, then whoever clicks them is interested in my product, so my money is being well spent. I'll just have a very low CTR. Nay: Spend the money on advertisement tailored to the target market, both people with existing interest, and those who would want it if they knew we existed. Yay or nay?

Anyone sad to see Adwords Position Preference Go?
Is Google saying, "Why keep offering a service that doesn’t work?" or "Let's make more money."?

Is there any correlation between the on-page factors being complete in moz and having a good quality score in Adwords?
I've been optimizing the website for a few keywords we're targeting and I'm looking to improve the quality score for my Adwords landing pages. My on-page scoring is great, but my scores in Adwords are low. Ideas?
