Google+ What is up with results?
-
If anybody has followed me, they know I am not a big advocate of Social Media, but I understand when you must adapt. So we broke down and made our Google+ Page
https://plus.google.com/113910385846996409142
The problem is, when you go to Google and search
"Google+ Columbia Engineered Rubber"
You get what appears to be 2 place pages (our company is in 2 locations) and one page that looks like something somebody tried to make, could have somebody here, or some auto generating thing..don't know. But our real page that we made (linked above) doesn't appear at all.
Does anybody know how to go about consolidating these pages to the one I made, its quite confusing for one company to have 3 pages showing in results none of which are correct.
Thank you for you time,
Don

Thanks Keri - right on!

Hi Sarah,
This is a bit of an old question, and at this point it'd be best to ask your question in a new question for better visibility. Thanks!
-
Hi Miriam,
Looks like I lost descriptions and cover pictures on my locations during the dashboard switchover. I have 70 locations - is it worth cleaning up. I would hate to invest all of that, only to learn later I should migrate to this new thing.
Thanks,
Sarah -
Hey Don,
'Growing pains' is a good description. I agree with you on your assessment. There are things that just aren't working well yet and Google is aware of it. Hang in there.
-
Hi Miriam,
Thank you for the follow up. Even the rep I spoke with at Google admitted that Google+ is new and they still don't have all the tools they normally do for other products they support. I kind of got the feeling that they are going through growing pains on both sides of the fence.
Thank you,
Don

Hi Don,
If you mean that you are in communication with Google reps, then yes, wait to hear what they have to say, but I strongly recommend that you do not attempt to merge your Google Places and Google Business Page. Pretty much every Local SEO I know agrees that merging is still too buggy to make it a safe action. For more on this, read:

Hi Amber Thank you for the reply,
It appears there is Google+ places and then Google+ Business page
Our issue is actually 2 fold, one in that our Google+ pages shows 2 locations for our company which is somewhat correct we own 2 buildings but we're only operating out of one. <cite>https://plus.google.com/102854794284853776525 (Center Drive Vandalia, OH) we own this building but aren’t located there yet. And</cite> <cite>https://plus.google.com/102935581108818455036 (Thunderhawk Dayton, OH) this is where we operate out of.</cite>
The second has to do with Google+ Business, in that there appears to be a page <cite>https://plus.google.com/105577406950465576457</cite> That was either created by somebody here or in error. Either way we need to merge the one I created with it.
I have since called Google and they are actively working on the issues.
Again I appreciate the responses. At this point I'm going to say if the Google+ team has to investigate further for advising a course of action, I should probably wait to see what they have to say.
Thank you,
Don

Don,
It sounds like you just created a G+ Business page, correct? And that you may have duplicate Google+ Local/Places listings.
Unfortunately I am unable to recreate what you said you are seeing when you Google "Google+ Columbia Engineered Rubber".
I do see two locations in Maps with the same URL that is associated with the page you referenced above:
2501 Thunderhawk Ct, Dayton, OH
875 Center Dr, Vandalia, OH
Can you attach a screenshot of the 3 results? There are a few ways you can go about handling listings with wrong business information but I would just need a little bit more information.
-
Sure thing. Good luck.
-
I appreciate the response I figured as much, the page was made last Friday. 4 days ago. I guess I could go to manual submit a url, but I fear I must get in touch with somebody at Google to get this sorted.
-
It can take time for Google to find your Google+ page and add it to the index, Don.
(yes, even though it's on their domain).
I'd wait a few days and check back. If it's not sorted out, then I'd start worrying.

QUESTION! Does anyone have any information about using an API to create Google Posts?
We have a client that has over 150 locations. They are using a software to post to all of their accounts at once with an API for different platforms. We are wondering if there is anyway to do this to post to their Google My Business Page.

Client Doesn't Know Google+ Brand Page Manager Login - How to Recover
Hello - I'm working with a client who has a complete Google+ Brand profile setup for their business, but cannot locate the google+ login associated with the management duties of that page. Is there a way to track down or at least to see who the page owner is and their associated email address?

Google Play rankings?
Hi everyone, I've spent the last hour or two googling information on Google Play app rankings, and a few websites mention that standard pagerank of the app page is taken into account when calculating rankings. This seems to make sense, though I'd estimate it's probably not a large factor, with daily downloads being a much higher factor IMO. So my question is, how much of a factor does standard link-building for a Google Play app webpage have in the rankings?. We're trying to increase exposure of an app we've built (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.onedirection), and though we seem to have more downloads, reviews and +1's than others, we seem to be ranking beneath them. Thanks, Chris.

Can Google index content from within Facebook apps? (photos, events, custom app, etc.)
Hi guys, I've Googled the heck out of this query and I seem to run into very top level answers (and I do apologize if my ignorance is to blame), but is Google able to index content from within Facebook applications such as Photos, Events, and possibly a custom app? If Google is able to better index both Javascript and AJAX, I would assume that the simple answer would be "yes", but since many of these applications don't provide outbound links, tracking traffic and conducting follow up experiments appears to be quite difficult. Since many of us use Facebook as a destination, if we take the time to optimize deeper content by adding detailed captions in pictures or unique descriptions for events, how can we determine that 1. the content is being crawled by search engines and 2. how is that content crawled and disseminated for user consumption on search engines? I appreciate your time and thank you for your insights.

How do I build author rank on Google+ ?
I have a website for one of my businesses at www.trustworthycare.com that we've been building upon for many years. On that site we have a lot of content and we publish at least two blog articles each week with solid content that is relevant to members of the market that the business wants to attract as customers. I have a second website for a new business at www.ageassistance.com that is in the same market but which operates in a different manner. That second business is very new. It also publishes two articles per week. Both sites name me as the author and I have created a Google+ page for myself. The sites identify me as the author for google+ author purposes. Both businesses also have google+ pages. The weekly articles are being pushed out to the respective Google+ business pages as well as to my own Google+ page. I think I've got all the basics established for us to take advantage of google+ for SEO purposes, then. Is that correct? If so, what do we do next? What matters? Getting others to +1 my posts? On which Google+ page, mine or the businesses? Getting others to share my posts? If so, is it better to get them shared from my personal page, or from the businesses' pages? Thanks!

Google+ Is this listing Claimed or Not?
I'm working on a dentist website. I logged in using their gmail account. I then searched for the practice name with the city and state then found their listing. I clicked on the link that has the Google reviews and it brought me to their Google+ page. If I click on Manage this page, it takes me to my client Google places dashboard page where I can edit some information.... even though I am having a hard time uploading images. Getting a "Cannot upload images at this time" Error The weird thing is that if I hit the browser back button and then Manage this page again, it takes me to the page where I can claim the business. I click on the blue link that says "If you own this place, claim it and edit it directly", I get a message that says "You may only access listings that you own. If you created this listing with a different Google Account, please log into that account and try again. If you've deleted this listing, you may create it again in Google Places Any clues on what is going on? Please see images attached. iyonJ.jpg Zqe7K.jpg

How much of an impact does Google+ page age have?
Do Google+ pages gain authority with age? Does it matter very much if I wait a few months to make a Google+ page as opposed to establishing it now, even if I won't be doing much work on it for a while?

Finding google + influencers
I'm trying to sink my teeth into the power (or future power) of Google +. I would like to find people who are already well connected with Google + (in the military space). I can easily find Twitter and Facebook lists to see who is being followed and who the active users are, is there anything like that for Google +?
