Outgoing Links Best Practice
-
Hi,
It is my understanding that it is good practice to add relevant out going links to my content pages.
I do not intend to over do it and the out going links I intend to add would be useful for the reader.
My question is do I need to add noindex/nofollow tags to these links? Does it make any difference either way or can I just leave them as index/follow links?
Thanks

Thanks Oleg

Leave them as index/follow. You'd only use nofollow for links for irrelevant, non-reviewed links (i.e. blog comments, forum sigs). If you are linking to a useful page that's relevant to your users, keep the link ecology flowing!

We have the popular brands that we sell listed on our homepage. We currently have them in just plain text at the moment but we want to know if it would be best to: Leave them in plain text Link each to the most relevant page on our website Link each out to the actual brands website Link some to internal page, others out to brands website, some blank Not have a list of brands We do have a webpage that lists all of our brands but there are hundreds we carry so we narrowed down the 40 most popular known brands that people will be looking for on the homepage. Ecommerce category navigation structure -best practices
Hello, I've heard that there is a specific strategy for the best linkjuice distribution for categorizing an ecommerce site. How many links should there be on the home pages? Categories 1 deep? 2 deep? This client's customers don't like to go very deep, and they usually don't find our second page Thanks!

Too Many On-Page Links
If a page has more than 100 links, rather than splitting up the page into multiple pages, is it ok to use name="robots" content="noindex, follow" />? The page in question lists links to articles so the page itself isn't that important to appear in serps, but the articles are the helpful content pages: www.ides.com/articles/processing/injection-molding/

Optimise duplicate products or canonical link
We exist in a niche market with a good % of products that sell well at specific times of the year. Lets say for example a red cup can be sold as a christmas red cup and a valentine red cup or just a red cup. Would we be best to optimize each specific product specifically for those seasons/events on different pages or keep google pointed to just one page using a canonical link.

Randomly Generated Links & Passing PageRank
Hi all, If you were to have links that were randomly generated on each refresh, how would they be treated? I would imagine that they are treated normally and isolated to each crawl. So Google would just see the link structure changing from crawl to crawl and therefore give no long term value to these links. Any ideas? Thanks for your responses! Nick
