Does a 301 retain social actions

I just changed the domains on one of my largest and oldest sites for branding reasons. I have the 301 set to keep the page structures and all.

My question is will the "likes" and shares and etc be kept via the 301 or will they have to be reacquired?

They will carryover in whatever form Google has ranked the page. However if you're talking about showing up as a thumbs up or a tweet account no it will not show up you will have to earn those again.

Does Google give more ranking weight for Shares for One Social Network over Another.

We are using BuzzSumo to explore the types of content that generate the highest number of shares per article. Does anyone have data to suggest that a share on Google+ carries more ranking weight than a share on Twitter or Facebook, or LinkedIn? We have seen a recent case with one of our client's competitors where they significantly grew their Google+ shares within a relatively short period of time and gained a higher rank for a key search phrase that my client is also targeting. Redirect social media links to https?

Hi fellow SEO-ers! One of the sites I'm responsible for uses a Twitter or Facebook feed on most of their pages, next to their unique content. As the tweets (twits?) and comments in some of these feeds are old, they still refer to the old Twitter and Facebook-domains using http (instead of https). These links are all automatically 301-redirected, but still make up ca. 9% of the links on the site. Do you think that this affects SEO? I doubt it, because I suppose that Google has seen this many times and understands that these links are still pointing to the same content. Although my client is prepared to write a script to auto-update all these links, I think it won't make a difference. What do you think? Thanks for your feedback!

Links to Social Media Sites

I am in the process of updating my website where all the URLs of my individual blog pages are changing. I have, in the past, done a lot of link sharing on Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter of my individual blog posts, but now on the new site my links will be different. Therefore, when I launch the new site anyone clicking on my previous tweets or facebook shares will get a broken link. Is there a tool I can use that identifies all the links on social media sites? Opensite Explorer doesn't show these - unless I am missing something? Any tips on how to overcome this would be very useful. thanks

CSVs From Social Export are Blank

Hi everyone, I'm exporting social metrics as CSV's, but the CSV's don't have any data. This is happening with both the dashboard and the Facebook reports. There is plenty of data, it's just not exporting to the report. What could be going on? Thanks.

How important are social signals to SEO?

How important are social signals to SEO? Are generating social signals a must? It seems every website out there has some sort of social sharing tool installed, everyone is after a like or a tweet. Are we now looking at getting as many likes/tweets etc from real accounts as possible because actually they effect SERP's a lot. Cheers

Why aren't social interactions showing any data? It was last week, but now displays nothing? Anyone know why this is?

Hi, As I look through the various accounts I work on I can no longer see any data from the social interaction on Facebook or Twitter. This now means that no data is displayed about growth rate etc. Does anyone know why this is? Thanks, Adam
