Analytics - content performance

Hi guys, is there any way to group specific pages together in analytics and just see how they have peroformed visit wise, etc?
I need to group some resort guides all with different names, it's tedious going through each one manually.
Help much appreciated as always!

The best way to do what I think you're trying to do would be to create some advaed segments.
Essentially you're just creating a group of pages and then only displaying data for those pages when the segment is applied.
Start with these two guides and come back and let me know if you're having trouble with either one:

Hello again.
Would it be easier to just exclude the ones you don't want? That way, you could just remove a few pages from the query if that is easier.
alternatively, you could tweak the GA tracking code, and add a custom variable for those pages you want to track together. See https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/gajs/gaTrackingCustomVariables?hl=no#pageLevel
The code could be something like:
_gaq.push(['_setCustomVar', 1, // This custom var is set to slot #1\. Required parameter. 'Resort guide', // Your grouping name. Required parameter. 'Specific page title', // Sets the value of "Resort guide" to "Specific page title" for this particular article. Required parameter. 3 // Sets the scope to page-level. Optional parameter, but you should have it in this case ]); Good luck! Anders

Hi thanks for the reply.
Unfortunalye cannot add keywords and theres no pattern in the url to only grab ones i want.
It would be good if analytics from Google allowed you to make groups of content to only monitor rather then all of it.

Hi!
Have you tried taking a full content report, and just exclude the parts of the site you don't need. Perhaps that would be easier than adding all the sections/pages you do need.
Or, if possible, add a special keyword ("resort guide"/"holiday guide") to the page title, unless that messes up something else for you (SEO etc...). That way you could create a content report for all pages with added keyword in the page title.
Hope this helps,Anders

How to change domains in Google Analytics without losing the data
Hi there, We recently changed our domain from .COM to .NET so that all our subdomains from external pages matched. Right now in Google Console we have our new .NET website being tracked, but in GA we are still tracking .COM. It is also causing issues with MOZ crawling our site because of the .COM/.NET discrepancy. My question is what is the best way to change our Google Analytics from .COM to .NET without losing historical data and what considerations do we need to change before implementing this? Our team was concerned that just downloading the old data would be too vast and it we wouldn't be able to continue manipulating it dynamically in GA. Thanks!!

When I click an outgoing link from Analytics - why are they all broken?
On one of my websites, if I visit the Behavior > Site Content section of Anayltics any link I try to open is broken. Google Analytics is appending the domain before every URL causing it to open in a popup but as a broken link. Example: Trying to click a link to a page on the website at this URL: http://www.thisisanexample.com/test.html But in the Analytics popup browser this is what it tries to load: www.thisisanexample.comhttp://www.thisisanexample.com/test.html So I can't preview any of the content within Google Analytics. I feel like this is a settings issue somewhere... Any ideas?

Google Analytics, new property or views?
Hi All We have an existing Google analytics account which was customised relatively heavily a few years back, with custom variables, e-commerce tracking and the a large number of filters. We have determined that the custom variables and e-commerce tracking, at least for now, are no longer required and actually complicating our lives. We want to simplify the account and add a fresh set of goals and events. Our initial train of thought was to create an entire new property with the usual views, raw, test, main etc. We are proposing to retain both properties (6 months) so we can still do some comparative stuff. We're now wondering if we should retain the existing property and just create new views, the downside being that whilst we can compare data with previous periods it's meaningless to some degree as the filters etc are different. The plus of more views is that we're not firing the tag twice retaining two properties. Views and opinions welcome. Thanks

Domain redirect for direct mail (source) tracking in Analytics?
We have a client that would like to do some direct mail marketing and the plan is to use a short/simple domain in the marketing materials, which redirects to the main site domain. By default this would show as a referral traffic source in Analytics, right? So any traffic that came through that redirect would be attributed to "shortdomain.com / referral"? Meaning I wouldn't need to do any sort of customized, advanced tracking set up to track conversions that I've already set up (ecomm and goals) and attribute them to this new source? Just double checking that I'm not overlooking something. Thanks!

How to identify rising keywords in analytics?
Hi Guys I just spotted in the Google Analytics > Traffic Sources > Search Engine Optimisation > Queries section a keyword that on the 27th Feb went from generating 35 impressions per day to 2000 impressions per day. This was down to people searching for a newly launched product. Does anyone know how I can identify any increases like this easily? I only came across this by accident, and I am 1 month behind the times. It would have been ideal to pick this up closer to the time so I could capitalise and write some great content on the topic. Thanks Paul

Long tail analytics
I've been playing with google advanced segments, but can't work out how to do this: Show all the keywords and traffic that send between x and x number of keyword searches per month. I'd like to have 3 different segments to show short, long and midtail keywords. Can anyone help?
