Schema.org for Region of Service
-
How do you set up a region of service in schema. For instance, we have landing pages for San Francisco and Chicago because we offer our product in these areas.
-
Evgeny,
Instead of just writing it out for you, here is the easy way to get see the code set up in a situation like you have.
The first example (scroll past the definitions) seems to fit your selling a product in a specific area. If you do not have a SF or a Chicago address, do not use that. For the region, you will still have either CA or IL. Make sure you limit it to those pages where you are focusing on those markets or you will affect others that you did not want to affect. So, if you are trying to sell all over US but have products that are specific to these areas, you need specific pages for these.
Hope that helps you out,
Robert

Events Schema
Hey all, I'm looking to use some schema to publicise an upcoming event. I can't make any sense of the Schema website for this section (http://schema.org/event). Can anyone help with drafting some schema? Or point me to an illustration of an example? Cheers, Rhys

Google live blog schema
Live blog markup was rolled out to a selected group of publishers last year 2015. I'm trying to find out whether it has been released to other publishers yet (we are a news site). Not seeing any updates about it anywhere and wondering how I can find out if/when it will be available. This is the latest I can see which is not much help https://developers.google.com/search/pilot/open/live-blogs. Any insider info would be very much appreciated.

Schema.org Microdata or Microformats - Which Should We Use
Hi All, I'm wondering what would be the better alternative - schema.org microdata or microformats. I am aware that search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing recognize Schema.org as the standard. Question is, will it have any negative affect? Our web developer here says that schema.org microdata may result in negative html. I don't think that it will affect our SEO, but I guess that's also something to shed some light on. So, what's the consensus here - should we implement schema.org or go with microformats - or, does it really make any difference?

Local Results for Regional Headquarters
A potential client of mine is an appliance and furniture retailer in the region with several brick & mortar stores. They have their headquarters (and main store) located here in town, and then in several towns within an approximately 25 mile radius, they have satellite stores that specialize in certain products. They see their best results both for hits and for in-store conversions from Google Local results, wherein people search for "Furniture" or "Television Stores" and they appear in the top two or three results. The problem is, the satellite stores have a limited inventory (they are actually brand specific stores operated by the client in a sort of franchise concept. Each one has their own website). The client wants to optimize for the headquarters, and I am considering various options. I know that since they have a presence in these towns that are within 25 miles, I could set up an "area of service" listing by verifying their other stores as locations for the main store, which would get their central store and main website listed in the local results in those towns. However, if this project comes together well, I will also be doing SEO for their satellite stores. I don't want to list those locations as part of the headquarters store, and then later be unable to list them as their own business locations, as well. Example: Customer in HOMETOWN searches "Furniture" - They get headquarter's local listing and website. Customer in SATELLITE AREA A searches "Furniture" - They get satellite's local listing and website. Customer in SATELLITE AREA A searches "Television Store" - Satellite Store A doesn't stock TV's, but the HOMETOWN store does. Customer gets headquarter's local listing and website based on "area of service" set up through SATELLITE STORE A. Is there a way to do this? This isn't black hat at all, even if it seems slightly iffy. The store is still local (just less local than some others), and the company does sell those products. Just not at the satellite locations. Because of the Franchise style of the Satellite stores, they're not allowed to associate those products directly with the satellite stores in any way.

Why Google loves MOZ for "Directory Submmission Service" ?
I have just for "directory submission service" in Google.com ( Geo Location USA ). I got two results from moz community for same thread. Does Google don't understand 301 redirect from seomoz.org to moz.com ? What about Domain Clustering ? PFA: SERP Screenshot kn8evtt.png

Schema tags demystified
I am looking for a basic description of the use for schema tags and how and in what circumstances they are best applied. I have found a few resources such as schema.org and here on this forum, but find I still need a basics lesson and subsequently, some ways to execute. The Raven plugin appears to make the code visible to the viewer which seems unacceptable...Guess I'm just a bit stumped! Thanks in advance for any available hand-holding on this. ;o)

WIll embedding affiliate links from Amazon, commission connection services, and AdSense damage your SEO?
Will having affiliate marketing links and images on your website damage search engine ranking on certain terms? Those affiliate links are just for office tools and online document services and nothing like an adult contents or spamming.

Schema.org
Hola Is there any consensus as yet as to whether people plan to use schema.org as the content markup standard rather than RDFa and microformats? There are some arguments flying around about the benefits and disbenefits, but the pragmatic answer to this question IMHO lies in how many people take this up rather than any arguments on what is best. Thanks to any and all who reply. Thanks Neil
