Get value out of buying another domain
-
How do you transfer value from another domain to your domain?
Specific scenario: I'm a new startup selling coffee online. A large online coffee retailer just shut it's doors and asked us to bid on its remaining assets, including their domain. It currently receives 20,000 unique visitors organically.
If I were to purchase their domain, how would I use this domain to make my site rank better in search engines and drive traffic to my site? Links? 301 redirects? Or would it not really make a significant difference?
-
I agree that the 301 redirect from the old site to the new would be the simplest to transfer the equity (if you did not want to set it up as a division of the original site). You would need to make sure that you spend a lot of time getting the 301 mapping from the old site to the new site correct - otherwise it would not be worth it.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I'm thinking from the standpoint of how you can make the most money rather than how you can increase your traffic and rankings of your current site. But make the recently acquired site a division of your current site and do business as both. Rather than ingratiating the business into yours, have two phone lines, two sets of letterhead, ect. I realize there's A LOT to doing this and you'd probably have to hire a couple more people, and it may be a bit of investment, but the long term payoff could be astronomical. I've seen clients do this right before my eyes and I have assisted them. Unless this is a known company in it's going out of business is extremely well-known. Then scrap everything I just said.
-
Yes, we want to keep our current site. The end goal is to use the acquired domain to help with our site's traffic and rankings.
-
How new is your company? New enough to take on their name and scrap yours?
If not, you have options such as domain forwarding with the registrar, 301 redirect, ect, but I'd have to know if your end goal is to keep your current site and just use the acquired domain to help your site's traffic and rankings.

Does it make sense to buy a domain to be used in a year or so?
Hi guys We all know domain age is a big win in domain authority, although I am thinking - does it make sense to buy a domain to be used later on for one of our future product lines? We can publish some content on it, link it from a few sites, however use it heavily after a year? All help will be much appreciated! Lily

Can i get banned for my content?
Last night all our indexed pages are gone from google. Completely deindexed - banned. Links could not cause it, all of them are related, anchors diversified and spam is never used. Content is the same like our other website has, just some small changes. First stronger website is working as usual. So can it be that duplicate content caused a complete ban? (Website is 6 months old. Content has never been properly indexed, due to same reasons i think. Last week we made changes, ant it started to get indexed quite well until tonight..)

Stability in the rankings - Domain mapping
Tues domain mapping of multiple (more than 180) urls to a single address can harm rankeamento these urls? I have the following scenario… Mapping domain addresses: www.meusitecidade01.com www.meusitecidade02.com www.meusitecidade03.com ... www.meusitecidade181.com to: www.meusite.com where I have a index.php page which will assemble according to the url mapped. There has been a lot of stability in the rankings (not google dance) some of these urls for some keywords and unique pecularidade see that, relative to other site, is the above scenario.

301 Redirecting multiple domains to brand new domain
Hi guys, I have read quite a bit of stuff on 301 redirects after Penguin. Hoping someone could help me out. im looking at a way to do a legit 301 redirect without passing the penalty. I have acquired two businesses, business1 and business2, that both had websites that were hit by penguin. Ive anaylsed there backlinks and theres a lot of spammy forum links and comments and I was also informed they were both using buildmyrank. A side note, buiness2 only started using BMR after it noticed business1 have large amounts of high PR links. business1.com was ranking at position 1 till the penguin hit. Business2.com was ranking around page 2 I work in the same arena as these two businesses and didnt generate any business via the internet. When these 2 businesses failed (due to loss of rankings and traffic) i decided to take them over. What I am thinking of doing is 301'ing both business domains to my brand new, zero links, domain which will be the name of my new company. I will combine the content from both sites, around 1000 pages, in to the new one. So my question is, does 301'ing multiple domains, that target the same keywords, and operate in the same niche, look less "spammy" then 301'ing 1 domain? I'm trying to look at it in the eyes of google. It is a legit merging of businesses. Thanks for your help, really appreciate your time

Am I buying links according to Google?
I have the opportunity to sponsor a variety of sections in a variety of .edu sites. Really appealing since they will both provide high quality traffic as well as to help our rankings... (maybe 🙂 )... Anyway this opportunity involves a monetary exchange, no different than advertising in Adwords and/or buying a display ad with the NYT. The links will be both text and banner... With follow links. My questions to you guys are: Is this practice penalize? And will display ads pass link juice also? Thanks for the help...

Purchased a high ranking domain and want to transfer my site to the new domain
I recently purchased a highly ranked domain. The link profile is very good and I don't want to lose to many links however I want to transfer my site to that domain. What is the best way of doing this without losing the current rank on search engines? Also how much does the transfer of registrar information impact my SEO?
