I agree with everyone said above.
In the terms of social media, I want to point out that Google+ has been known to make pages get crawled faster.

Hi Mark
I agree with both Chris & Ratan. Based on Rand's recent Whiteboard Friday there is also a case of saying Google+ is best for SEO - some interesting thoughts on there so worth watching.

You can't actually get a candid 'yes' or 'no' answer to it. Twitter has it's own benefits and so is the case with Facebook. What matters is how effectively are you using a channel. If you are using Twitter efficiently, it is good for you, and if I am great at Facebook, it is the best for me. When talk about the potential of these two in terms of SEO, they both are neck to neck.
Google does see social signals and gives it importance in search rankings, but it does not necessarily depend on any one social media for the same. More is better for it.
Using at least 5 channels like Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Google Plus, Stumble Upon etc. devotedly will give you the benefits of social signals in a better way.
Thanks

It's not about importance but more about crawlability, because Facebooks has privacy settings and not everyone's profile is public it can't always crawl all the links where as Twitter Google can see the links.
So twitter is better as Google can read it easier. Bing Uses Facebook more I believe.

Facebook Graph Search
Hi All. Just wondering what your experience is with using Facebook graph search? I have a site that ranks highly for a good number of keywords on google, yahoo etc, but when you use the facebook graph search, it either doesnt show up at all or is buried away in page 5 or something. I'm talking about the 'Web Search' bit where it returns web results rather than searching for pages likes by my friends etc. Any thoughts? Why is my site way behind the competition in Facebook? I'm a white hat kind of girl and can't think what I might have done to offend! Have you come across any good resources advising how to optimise for facebook graph search for web? Thanks Jo

Has anyone done any testing on LinkedIn Endorsements to see if they are of any SEO value?
Hi, Has anyone done any testing on LinkedIn Endorsements to see if they are of any SEO value? It is so easy to endorse a persons skills, it seems to devalue the credit given. But, if it is adding any SEO value, why not? Thanks so much, Donna 🙂

Facebook comments plugin moderation
Hello I am trying to integrate the Facebook social plugin http://developers.facebook.com/docs/...gins/comments/ into my website. So far I have included the HTML 5 code in my site and it is visible, but how can I moderate the comments before they are being posted? I have included into the header of the root of my site but when viewing the comments area on a page within my site I cannot see any moderation options? Hope this makes sense and someone can help Many Thanks

Contacting Facebook
Does anyone know how to make meaningful contact with Facebook??? Last month I tried to set up a couple Facebook PPC campaigns for a couple clients only to find out that I can't because another client of mine for whom I set up a Facebook PPC campaign last fall has an outstanding balance of a whopping $30. To be clear, I was only an admin on the client's Facebook page. Their credit card (not mine) was in use, and they didn't pay their bill. So now, Facebook is holding that against me. I've contacted them through one of the help forms on the site. They clearly don't understand where I'm coming from. I've now sent them 3 emails, and now I'm not receiving a response. I just recently resorted to sending a direct message through Facebook to Facebook Marketing. No response. It really does boggle my mind how they're penalizing me, and in turn, my clients, because another former client of mine from nearly a year ago has a $30 balance. I'm not even an admin on the one client's Facebook page anymore?! With AdWords, I regularly have clients who owe Google money but that doesn't affect all of my other clients.

Twitter Username: Keyword or Company Name?
Hello everybody! I'm in doubt with which one is the best: To have a Twitter profile name with: 1)the company's name.
Social Media | | seomasterbrasil
Of course it's good for branding, but it's a B2B, industrial market. 2)a relevant keyword.
Will it bring traffic, considering that is a B2B, that works different. The question is: does Google gives relevance to username with keyword in it? If yes, have it a great value, or should I use the company name? Thanks! =]0 -
Does the Facebook Share button still exist?
Hi everyone, I'm reading everywhere about the Facebook 'Share' being more powerful than the Facebook 'Like'. Just yesterday, there's a post on the SEOmoz blog about Facebook Shares http://www.seomoz.org/blog/plus-one-adoption-rates-and-social-sharing-statistics But I thought the Share button was replaced by the Like button? http://mashable.com/2011/02/27/facebook-like-button-takes-over-share-button-functionality/ All references to the Share button now point you to Facebook's Like button developer page. So if we want more SEO value, where can we get the Share button from? Or do we have to make do with the Like button from now on?
