A Hummingbird Question
-
So with Google SERPs looking for more customer intent and especially to direct questions eg, How much does a x cost? Where can I find x etc - is it good practice to create a bank of Q&A's on site or is it sufficient to have good quality content on the subject matter stating the costs of x and where you can find it written in a customer friendly manner?
Will a bank of Q&As add any value if they directly answer the most likely search questions?
Thanks

I agree with Chris and would like to add that if you have quick and easy answers, then an FAQ would be sufficient. However, if the answers are more lengthy or could be expanded on into a blog, it would be worth taking the time to create a high-quality piece of content explaining to your audience, which could then be shared with others.

Thanks Chris that makes sense - think I was trying to over think it !

Rather than look at it from a search perspective look at it from a user point as that's what the search engines are trying to please. Would it benefit users to have a list of F.A.Q ?
I would say if it helps users then go for it and if they find it helpful and even link out Google will like it and everyone wins.

On Site Question: Duplicate H2...
Hi All A few on-site audit tools pull information on duplicate H2 tags on pages. This implies it's a bad thing and should be fixed - is that the case? On one of my sites the tag-line is in H2 in the header, so appears on every page... Just wondering if this is something worth fixing. Thanks

Question For SEO Companies From An On-line Retailer
When employing an SEO company what should I be looking for? When I go to a companies website I look for how many keywords they have ranked on Semrush. Most of the companies that I have looked at do not rank very many. Saying most I am talking about 10-12 companies. There was one company that had a lot more than anyone else but their reviews were awful. Then I look at their clients websites to see how many keywords they have ranked and this is where I am baffled. Quite a lot of them especially retail sites with lots of products have very few keywords ranked and my belief is that the more related keywords that you have ranked the better you will do. I also look at how the thier organic traffic is doing over a number of months. what surprises me most is that companies are advertising clients websites where it looks like traffic is climbing and then all of a sudden there is a big drop. Am I missing something in order to find a company that will do what we are paying them for? Thank you in advance.

To redirect or not to redirect...That is the question
We have old product data that is being updated (approx 30k sku's). Most of the old pages have been indexed and drive the majority of our online sales. But, the updated products have different titles, H1's, etc and have been re-formatted for the better in terms of usability. So, should we redirect thousands of pages to the new pages? Will Google be ok with that?...or should we reformat the current url's with the new data? And, if we reformat current url's with new data...the fear is that the on-page elements that the pages are being pick up for will get wiped out, (be it the H1 in some cases or the title or alt tag for another, etc) because it's simply too much to retain them during the import. URL Question
This url looks bad: http://www.patrickmunoz.com/#!classes/c1vw1 And when you click around the page change doesn't actually occur, it's a fade into the next page. I think this is a major problem for rankings. Although pages are crawled: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.patrickmunoz.com%2F&oq=site%3A&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j69i58j69i59l3j69i61.3548j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8 When I search for a simple page - "patrick munoz FAQs" nothing comes up:

Internal linking question
I have a Q&A site which I am struggling to get ranking well in Google. I had a few questions 1. Should I be doing some internal linking and if so how is it best to do this? Should I go back into users questions and change certain keywords to links if applicable? 2. Should I be nofollowing the index pages ie /p1 /p2 of discussions? 3. If anyone has chance to look at the site and let me know if there is anything else I am doing wrong I would be really grateful. Thanks

Crosslinking Question - Footer or Header?
We own 9 fashion blogs that focus on different niches. We have Your Next Shoes focusing on shoes, Your Next Dress focusing on dresses, Your Next Handbag focusing on handbags, and so on. Previously we had links in the blog header to the other sister sites. Your Next Shoes had text links to its 8 sister sites, and so on. However, we were told that this could cause a cross-linking penalty, so we removed these links. My understanding now is that the advice we were given is not necessarily correct. We think it is useful for our visitors to see that we also operate other blogs, so we are thinking of adding back the links - this time to our footer. Basically I am looking for advise on the best way to go about this.

Questions About My Report
Hi, I have a website that aggregates NFL analysis (not news). I write 3-5 line summaries about each article I link, so there is a pretty good amount of daily content. Here's the site: http://www.profootballhotreads.com/ After I received my initial report, there were several issues, and I just wanted to get some thoughts on them. Some of these might be related to the aggregate nature, some might be not a concern, but I want to know which ones I should really worry about. Too many links. My main page is a continuously running scroll of links, so obviously this is going to be tough to accommodate. I know this makes each link less "valuable," but does it actually affect my site in any way? I don't really have links to my site on the page other than in the menu, which I assume would be scrolled first. meta description on tag pages. For site design reasons, I have several "pages" that are actually tag collection pages rather than unique pages. For example, each team's page is simply a collection of anything tagged with that team. So, I don't know if I can provide a meta description for those pages without making that the default meta description for any post with that tag. I supposedly have tons of duplicate pages but when I go to those pages, I don't see it. Webmasters said I only had one duplicate. Not sure what's going on. I'm thinking anytime I update a post, it is reading it as two different posts even though only one post exists at a time on the site. I have tons of duplicate page titles. Basically, I have tons of pages on my main page because after a certain amount of posts, it goes to a "new" page, even though it's just a continuation. So, I have Main page 1, Main Page 2, etc with the same title and meta descriptions. I don't think this is a concern, is it? Thanks for anyone who might be able to help. Let me know if there are more questions. Jason
