What to do with old, outdated and light content on a blog?
-
So there's a blog I recently took over - that over the past 2 years has great content. However, with their 800+ published posts.
I'd say that 250-300 posts are light in content, that's nothing more than a small paragraph with no real specificity on what its about - more like general updates.
Now what would best practice be; optimizing all of the posts or deleting the posts and 301'ing the URL to another post/the root?
-
Nope - minimal to no traffic
-
#1 Users. Anyone reading them? If not, no point for them to exist.
-
That's what I was leaning towards. A lot of this content links out to support pages on other sites - so I was a bit weary about losing link juice to other pages. However, I think the content and pages aren't authoritative enough to really show any loss from the dropped links.
-
Both of those ideas sound exactly what i would do, if they have credible posts that are valuable to their users then keep them and add to them, maybe share them on social media once you add more relevant content. Or if they really are not anything useful i would delete and 301 to something similar.

Can Yoast plugin change back old title automatically?
I have a problem with the first page on my website. Im using Wordpress and Yoast SEO plugin. After I have changed and updated some information on the page, I also wanted to change and make a better page title. That I understand is to be changed under pages, by scrolling down to the Yoast setting for the specific page. Is that right? However, I have changed the title over and over again, and asked Google to re-index the page. Everything is fine directly after that. But when I check again after 24-48 hours, the page have automatically changed back to the old title? How is that possible? I´ve tried about 5-10 times, but it does the same thing after 24-48 hours every time. Hope you people with great knowledge can help me out here. 🙂

Removing an old Google places listing for a newer version?
Hey there, I was wondering whether you could help me out on the following; One of our clients has a Google places listing that we created for their business but it appears to be being blocked - or at least conflicting - with an old listing. As such, Google appears to be showing the old listing with an outdated URL and company name - rather than the new one. Does anyone know how I can go about removing this listing or showing that the newer one is now more relevant? Unfortunately, I don't have the logins for the old places listing. Old listing; https://plus.google.com/105224923085379238289 New listing; https://plus.google.com/b/114641937407677713536/114641937407677713536

With regards to SEO is it good or bad to remove all the old events from our website?
Our website sells tickets for various events across the UK, we do have a LOT of old event pages on our website which simply say SOLD OUT. What is the best practice? Should these event pages be removed and a 301 redirect added to redirect to the home page? Or should these pages remain in tact with simply SOLD OUT on the page?

As I was on 9th position in Google.com before, now it has slipped to 29th position. WHY? is there content issue or anything else which i am not aware.

Moving content in to tabs
Hi, I'm kind of an SEO noobie, so please bare with me 🙂 On one of the sites I'm working on I got a request to move large blocks of content, just placed on the page currently, in to tabs. This makes sense. We tried it and it makes navigating through the information much easier for visitors. My question is: Will Google consider this as hiding information? It's not loaded dynamically. It's all their when the page is loaded, in the source, but not displayed until the visitor clicks the tab. Will this cause SEO issues? Thank you!

How does my blog help in SEO
Hi I have recently put a wordpress blog on my site and have employed a few blog writers, each putting 2 or 3 posts per week up. There brief so far has been to write interesting, humorous and topical articles. Stupid as it may seem I have done this only because the general consensus seemed to be "you must have a blog for SEO" Does it help? Assuming it does: Should I post the same articles to my facebook page and or anywhere else? Should the articles have anchor text linking back to my site? What should I do to make it work well? Thanks in advance Andy

What is the critical size to reach for a content farm to be under google spot?
We're looking for building a content farm, as an igniter for another site, so there will be some duplicate content. Is it a good or a bad strategy in terms of SEO.
