Cloaking - is this still working ? And how ?
-
Hello,
Recently i read about all the cloaking world.
I search some information on the internet about it and i fine this service : http://justcloakit.com/.
Since I'm pretty new to whole this "cloaking world" so I have a few questions from from experts in this field. Is this still working on SEO since all the Google update recently ?
How easy is that for someone that don't have much experience and knowledge on php and servers stuff ?
Is there are more sites such as the above example ?In general i have the budget and i don't think its very hard to learn all the technical part but i just want to know if this is something
that still working, is that good investment in your opinion ? (As its not really cheap)Cheers and thank you for your help
-
There is no harm in testing stuff, but as Ruben says, don't put it on your main business website or host on the same c-block.
I've been spammier in my 'youth' and totally get where you're coming from - it can be a real buzz getting one over on Google. BUT I now work in a purely white hat way, and the buzz you get from doing it 'right' is much better - AND the results last for longer so it's a win win for me!
-
I hear ya. It's always fun to run experiments and learn something new. Whatever your reasons for pursuing it, just make sure it doesn't link to any of your other sites and isn't hosted on the same c-block...at the minimum.
Best,
Ruben

Thank you for your respond.
I know that Google smart these days and i will never use it for one of my sites.
I do have some domain that lying there that i will be happy to play with and see if i can get results.
Im not talking to use it as my main strategy, its more for playing. And don't you think that you can learn a lot from this ?
What Google's red line?
Which niche its working and not ?I see it more research Tools and if i will make some money from that so why not.
In the end i believe that Google its a cray machines but in the end machines have bugs.I know that in here most people believe more in white hat and me too but i hear a lot of crazy thing on this.
Thank you

Don't do it. Ruben is right, it's risky and potentially dangerous. Use your budget for good
-
The generic response is:
1. Your budget is better spent developing high quality, unique content.
2. This is a violation of google's guidelines and will most likely get you penalized now or in the near future.
My response is:
1. If you want to commit yourself to trying to say ahead of everyone at google, by all means, have fun. However, by the time most black hat techniques have garnered as much attention as cloaking has, they have pretty much lived out their usefulness.
2. Admittedly, you're new to cloaking but confident you could figure it out...I just find that dangerous. I wouldn't implement something on my site, I didn't fully understand, especially if it's something google doesn't like.
My two cents.
Best,
Ruben

Help! Is this what is called "cloaking"?
Friend asked me to look at her website. Ran it through screaming frog and BAM, instead of 4 pages i was expecting it returned HUNDREDS. 99.9% of them are for cheap viagra and pharmaceuticals. I asked her if she was selling viagra, which is fine, I don't judge. But she swears she isn't. http://janeflahertyesq.com I ran it through google site:janeflahertyesq.com and sure enough, if you click on some of those, they take you to canadien pharmacys selling half priced blue pills. a) is this cloaking? if not, what is going on? b) more importantly, how do I we get rid of those hundreds of pages / de-indexed She's stumped and scared. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance and for the work you do.

No cache still a good link for disavow?
Hi Yall, 2 scenarios: 1. I'm on the border line of disavowing some websites that link to me. If the page is N/A (not available) for the cache, does that mean i should disavow them? 2. What if the particular page was really good content and the webmaster just has the worse seo skills in not interlinking his old blogs, hence why the page that's linking to me is N/A for cache, should i still disavow it? Thanks

Would reviews being served to a search engine user agent through a noscript tag (but not shown for other user types) be considered cloaking?
This one is tough, and I've asked it once here, http://www.quora.com/Search-Engine-Optimization-SEO/Is-having-rich-snippets-placed-below-a-review-that-is-pulled-via-javascript-considered-bad-grey-hat-SEO, but I feel that the response was sided with the company. As an SEO or digital marketer, it seems that if we are pulling in our reviews via iframe for our users, but serving them through a nonscript tag when the user agent is a search engine, that this could be considered cloaking. I understand that the "intent" may be to show the same thing to the bots as the user sees, but if you look at the view source, you'll never see the reviews, because it would only be delivered to the search engine bot. What do you think?

Hi, I want to keep update with the latest trend of SEO,

in one side, we know that google now more focus on-page rather than off-page,
the Question is, when we handle a big size of company, that we can't change easily,
the content inside the web, this will become a problem. do you have any suggestion about
this matters ? Second question, I still keep my SEO team to do this, 5 people, 1 people hold 7 .com website,
that hosted all in SEO hosting with different IP Class C, and 7 social network site. Everytime they
are posting a unique article and put link that targetting the money site. My Question is, is it still
work to do all of this ? so at the end of month, we have almost 70links that going to money site,
with composition of link, 50% exact match text, 30 partial match text, and 20% direct www. link today, it is still working, all the site that we optimize, going up to page 1. But I want to know about
the future, or at least in your country that more competitive rather than in my country (Indonesia),
what do you do for backlink that created from your farm. I also heard that, SEO Hosting is not use, the things that works is, when u posting an article, make
sure u post from unique IP address, not from same computer. Please give me enlightment, I truly open for discussion, thanks a lot0 -
Does Backlinks from User Profile Page Still Matter
Though, lot of algorithmic changes, updates have happened. However, backlinks from quality source or trusted sites has hardly lost its importance and thats why Open SIte Explorer or Majestic seo is still there to find quality of backlinks, trust factor and authority factor of the backlinks. I need to know does having backlink (dofollow) from Profile Page - still matters and if yes - will a do follow backlink from Moz Profile Page or any authority site or forum page, having dofollow link from user profile page - does it still count as a mark to authority of your site.

Anchor text penalty doesn't work?!
How do you think, does the anchortext penalty exactly work? Keyword domains obviously can't over-optimize for their main keyword (for example notebook.com for the keyword notebook). And a lot of non-keyword-domains do optimize especially in the beginning for their main keyword to get a good ranking in google (and it always works). Is there any particular point (number of links) I can reach, optimizing for one keyword, after what i'm gonna get a penalty?

Disqus integration and cloaking
Hey everyone, I have a fairly specific question on cloaking and whether our integration with disqus might be viewed as cloaking. Here is the setup. We have a site that runs off of drupal and would like to convert the comment handling to disqus for ease of our users. However, when javasrcript is disabled the nice comment system and all of the comments from disqus disappear. This obviously isn't good for SEO, however the user experience using disqus is way better than the native comment system. So here is how we are addressing the problem. With drupal we can sync comments between the native comment system and disqus. When a user has javascript enabled the containing div for the native comment system is set to display:none. hiding the submission form and all of the content and instead displaying it through the disqus interface. However when javascrip is not enabled the native comment form and the comments will be available to the user. Could this be considered cloaking by google? I know they do not like hidden div's, but it should be almost exactly the same content being displayed to the user (depending on when the last sync was run). Thanks for your thoughts, and if anyone has familiarity with a better way to integrate drupal and disqus I am all ears. Josh
