Supplement/Nutritional Facts
-
This may be a hard one for most to answer. I am wondering if supplement facts should be listed as html on a website or as an image? I see the benefit of both.
Having a master image that can be saved into a lower res version and posted to the website eliminates issues with misspellings, etc. It also displays the information the same regardless of user and would be much easier to manage in terms of setup. Our formulations change from time to time, so it is important that our labels are consistent across all platforms.
That being said, having the facts in html, would add potentially useful search content to the page and I imagine it would be helpful for disabled persons who use text readers.
Any thoughts on this? I haven't discovered any recommendations or specs on this but I've seen it done both ways on many different sites.

Thanks, I figured that was the case. I am glad I asked.

There is a very straight forward answer - make it HTML.
An image will give you an SEO disadvantage
An image is not user friendly (accessibility)
You want the info in the image crawled and indexed
An image bloats your page load size

I would strongly recommend having it available in HTML so you can have the potential to gain knowledge graph visibility on results like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=avocado-nutrition

How Are You Handling Blog Posts/Author Pages when Employees Leave the Company?
What do you believe to be the best approach in handling blog content for employees once they have left the company? We don’t want to remove the blog posts so they need to stay, but then there are the author pages. This gets tricky because the CMS ties the blog post to the author. One approach might be to change the author’s name to the Company’s name to get around author pages for people no longer with the company. It’s kind of tricky because the blog posts won’t have the same credibility if they don’t have a person’s name/photo associated with the post. We could leave the blogger’s page and list him as a “Contributing Author” once he’s left the company. Thoughts?

Health/Exercise/Fitness bloggers?
Hey Mozzers, I have a lot of blogs that deal with health/exercise/fitness and that niche and need to get content for them. I'm not looking for mass content that is crap. I'm looking for well thought out stuff. Any bloggers in that industry want to be guest authors and put up some posts on any of my sites? Trying to get good content and this seems like a good way. You can include a link back to you obviously. Please let me know if you are interested, I'm happy to get in touch and post your content on my sites. Thanks!

Is it advisable to have unique pages for different cities/states though there wouldnt be any actual differentiation in the actual content.
Is it advisable to have unique pages for different cities/states though there wouldnt be any actual differentiation in the content. For example should we have separate pages for "hammers in california" & "hammers in new york". The product is same and content more or less the same. The search volume for individual queries is low but collectively makes a large number. The unique title tag automatically will generate traffic. So does it make sense to make 50 such pages. Else is there any way to uniquely target 50 such queries/month/city

Multisite Worpress Environment / Community
Hello fellow SEOMOZ rs. We are building out a platform on WordPress that provides a free blog for a market niche in a multi-site WordPress environment. The client we are building this solution for now wants the people signing up for the free blogs to be able to search for each other (based on categories and keywords), to build a list of favorites from other bloggers in this community (sort of like building a team), review each other (leaving a publicly viewable review and score of each other) as well as create a forum that is outside the blogs that each of them have. Here is a summary of the goals for the WordPress Plug in (s) 1. Search for other sites within the multi-site environment
Content Development | | webindustry
2. Scoring / Review system for other users (who also have blogs on the system)
3. Ability to build and maintain a list of other users in the community (like a prefered list or team list)
4. A shared Forum area that we could admin from the multi-site platform that they could log in with using the same credentials as their multi-site blog credentials. My question for you all is: Does anyone have experience in a single plugin that will work in a multisite environment that would handle some or most of the goals listed? If not a single plugin, how about recommendations for individual plug ins that might help with this? Thanks for any recommendations!1
