Are doorway pages black hat or white hat?

I am asking because I keep creating spam reports on google web master tools when I find them on competitors websites but nothing happen...
Anyone else had better experience with spam reports?

Google's John Mueller said many times that reporting a site does not mean you will see immediate action. The penguin algo has not updated for over 1 year!!! So immediate action implies 1 year or more sometimes!
What they do is gather lots of data and use it to factor in to a new algorithm update. This can take a very long time and as I have argued many many times, is a very infective approach as by the time they are rolled out the guilty sites have a new tactic in place already.
Doorway pages are frowned upon and will eventually get hit by some algo.

Do they add value to the site? Are they adwords pages? I have noticed a lot of companies are getting around the doorway pages seemingly by having them displayed for adwords ads. Like say having a doorway page for a city, and it is targeted to the add <city keyword="">so when you open it up it is basically a doorway page. I think it is a sketchy area, I would love to hear what others have to say about it. </city>

What is the impact of an off-topic page to other pages on the site?
We are working with a client who has one irrelevant, off-topic post ranking incredibly well and driving a lot of traffic. However, none of the other pages on the site, that are relevant to this client's business, are ranking. Links are good and in-line with competitors for the various terms. Oddly, very few external links reference this off-topic post, most are to the home page. Local profile is also in-line with competitors, including reviews, categorization, geo-targeting, pictures, etc. No spam issues exist and no warnings in Google Search Console. The only thing that seems weird is this off-topic post but that could affect rankings on other pages of the site? Would removing that off-topic post potentially help increase traffic and rankings for the other more relevant pages of the site? Appreciate any and all help or ideas of where to go from here. Thanks!

Why does Google rank a product page rather than a category page?
Hi, everybody In the Moz ranking tool for one of our client's (the client sells sport equipment) account, there is a trend where more and more of their landing pages are product pages instead of category pages. The optimal landing page for the term "sleeping bag" is of course the sleeping bag category page, but Google is sending them to a product page for a specific sleeping bag.. What could be the critical factors that makes the product page more relevant than the category page as the landing page?

Google+ Page Question
Just started some work for a new client, I created a Google+ page and a connected YouTube page, then proceeded to claim a listing for them on google places for business which automatically created another Google+ page for the business listing. What do I do in this situation? Do I delete the YouTube page and Google+ page that I originally made and then recreate them using the Google+ page that was automatically created or do I just keep both pages going? If the latter is the case, do I use the same information to populate both pages and post the same content to both pages? That doesn't seem like it would be efficient or the right way to go about handling this but I could be wrong.

Help With This Page
This is page - http://www.kempruge.com/location/tampa/tampa-personal-injury-legal-attorneys/ - is the most important one to my business, and I can't seem to get it to rank higher. It has the second highest authority and links, second only to my homepage (though none are all that impressive) but it is just buried in the SERPs. Granted, I know Tampa Personal Injury Attorney is the hardest keyword for us to rank for, but there must be some way to improve this. I know getting high quality links is an appropriate answer, but I'm looking for anything I can do solely on my end to improve it. However, if anyone has some ways to make the page more linkable, I'm all ears! Please, if you have a second to take a look, I'd appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks, Ruben

Wordpress - Dynamic pages vs static pages
Hi, Our site has over 48,000 indexed links, with a good mix of pages, posts and dynamic pages. For the purposes of SEO and the recent talk of "fresh content" - would it be better to keep dynamic pages as they are or manually create static pages/ subpages. The one noticable downside with dynamic pages is that they arent picked up by any sitemap plugins, you need to manually create a separate sitemap just for these dynamic links. Any thoughts??

Black Hat :(
Hello folks! Name is Mike, i'd like to ask some of you your opinion on this matter. My company hired an SEO company (reputable company in LA) to get our rankings where we want them to be. They've been somewhat successful, we were actually quite happy with their performance. I do mostly print marketing and graphic design for my company, I do manage our website and online store. As a cost saving measure we've decided to cut their service (expensive) and the SEO is now brought in-house - that means its my responsibility now. By no means am I a complete newbie, I pretty much know what I need to do in order to maintain our rankings and improve as well. And with the knowledgebase here at SEOMOZ i should be fine (i hope). Thing is that I have asked our previous SEO company to supply a list of all inbound links they created. They've been silent, no response. Am I asking for too much?? I ran some of my links through OpenSite Explorer (great tool by the way) and found tons of incoming links using black hat tactics. I don't see how anybody could benefit making these links but the SEO company who we recently got rid of. I am quite certain they are responsible for these links. Black hat tactics such as keyword stuffing and anchor links (with very small font) on the footer of some random website. Kinda upsets me that we paid so much money for this type of crap. They never offered any advise with respect to on-site SEO which I am now finding out I have a lot of on-site optimizing thank to SEOMOZ. I don't know if its such a big deal or if am simply overreacting. I am concerned of my company's site getting penalized by the search engines and making my job as in-house SEO much more dificult. Is this a big deal? Should I ignore it and begin building my own quality links and content? Thanks

Should I block temporary pages
I need some SEO advice on an odd scenario: We are launching a new product line (party supplies) on it's own domain (PartySuperCenter.com). Due to some internal/technical reasons we will not be able to launch the site until the summer. We already have the product in our warehouse so the owners want to created a section on our current site (CostumeSuperCenter.com) for the new products. Once the new site is up the product will be removed from our current site and moved to the new site. I am concerned about the effect this will have on our SEO - having thousands of product pages appear and then disappear after a few months. I was thinking about blocking the pages using the "noindex" tag. Is this how you would handle it? Thanks in advance for your help!

High number of items per page or low number with more category pages?
In SEO terms, what would be the best method: High number of items per page or low number with more pages? For example, this category listing here: http://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/90/fsx-civil-aircraft/ It has 10 items per page. Would there be any benefit of changing a listing like that to 20 items in order to decrease the number of pages in the category? Also, what other ways could you increase the SEO of category listings like that?
