Google no longer highlighting keyword times in titles within rankings?
-
Anyone else seeing this? Or is it a test rather than full rollout?

LOL Ahh ok I see what you're saying. I think they did away with that a while ago. As of lately I've only seen them bold the searched KW's in the titles. Either way, they are certainly making changes!! Good stuff!

I was meaning bold.
I can go one further just so we can all reminisce, here's Google just over 10 years ago... http://imgur.com/ARW9BGS,GXdbYe7 and here's Google today ... http://imgur.com/ARW9BGS,GXdbYe7#1

Maybe I am misunderstanding...
I've never seen them highlighted, only bold. But can you provide a screenshot of what you are seeing in the SERPS? I'd love to see what you are talking about. Thank you!

Settings the same, tried incognito and searching as per usual via Chrome, just tried IE (can't believe I've had to use IE - oh well!) and the same, across two different IP addresses within our office too, no difference. We are UK based, there may be something in that - tried on Google.com though and no bold keywords!
-
Hi
No change for me, still have keywords highlighted in bold as always. Strange, have you changed any settings or that recently. Also have you tried on a few different browsers to compare?
Regards
Graeme

Hey Bryan thanks for the response, to me the titles aren't highlighted on your screenshot - maybe your screenshot is a bit to unclear either that or I need glasses? If so not actually a major change - just looks weird after having seen that emphasis for 10 years?

Rankings dropped 71% in Google and 65% on Mobile
My rankings just tanked big time. The only problems are #1 Canonical Tags #2 Missing H-1 Tags, #3 URL too long. Are these high priority items now? I just lost a ton of page one rankings after very high rankings for the past 6 years.

Keywords and keyword traffic
Hi I am struggling to know what keywords i should be targeting and how the website should be best optimised for said keywords. The website offers bespoke service in the lake district UK a popular tourist destination, The business operates within say a 30 km riadus of the area. So target vistors to the website would specifically be looking for services in the lake district. The trouble is for many targeted keywords for the area are quite low or no data shown. For example: tipi camping lake district, tipi hire lake district, Glamping lake district However nationally keywords for the service have a lot higher traffic i.e. tipi hire or tipi camping, glamping what keywords should be my target? and should I targeting my website for? I don't want to target customers looking for these services outside of the lake district and also by targeting keywords without the term lake district means my competition is greater as i'm competing with the whole of the Uk for serivces It can't provide. please advise thanks

Constructing the perfect META Title - Ranking vs CTR vs Search Volume
Hello Mozzers! I want to discuss the science behind the perfect META Title in terms of three factors: 1. Ranking 2. CTR 3. Search Volume Hypothetical scenario: A furniture company "Boogie Beds" wants to optimise their META Title tag for their "Cane Beds" ecommerce webpage. 1. The keywords "Cane Beds' has a search volume of 10,000 2. The keywords " Cane Beds For Sale" has a search volume of 250 3. The keywords "Buy Cane Beds" has a search volume of 25 One of Boogie Beds SEO's suggests a META Title "Buy Cane Beds For Sale Online | Boogie Beds" to target and rank for all three keywords and capture long tail searches. The other Boogie Bed SEO says no! The META Title should be "Cane Beds For Sale | Boogie Beds" to target the most important two competitive keywords and sacrifice the "Buy" keyword for the other two Which SEO would you agree more with, considering 1. Ranking ability 2. Click through rates 3. Long tail search volume 4. Keyword dilution Much appreciated! MozAddict

Finding Cause of Google Demotion (second time around!)
Our website, christnotes.org has historically ranked very well in it's space. We have always been in top 3 positions for daily bible verse related searches. There have been no fluctuations in rankings until it took a hit around September 4th through October 14th with approximately 35% drop in PVs and over 60% drop in traffic from Google. The site fully recovered google traffic mid-Oct. On November 24th the site was once again hit, this time with a 50% drop in pageviews and over 75% drop in traffic from google. Google Analytics Image depicting the two drops attached. When the first drop hit, we checked everything - bad links, broken URLs, page speed, etc. There was a slight increase in page speed so we did a little tweaking and made some improvements (8.36 second page load to 5.5) This time around, I can find no cause and no areas that need fixed to recover our rankings and traffic. Very confused on Google dropping rank then recovering after what looks like a page speed fix and then dropping again a month later. Any suggestions???? KGOgzEm

Switching from Google Plus Local to Google Plus Business
Greetings, We have a website design firm located in India. We wanted to target customers in our city who are looking for website design locally. And with google plus local and a few content marketing would get us into first page very soon because none in the competition is using social signals or even content marketing. BUT unfortunately from last month even though our Google Places is verified we cant verify our Google Local Plus page https://plus.google.com/b/116513400635428782065/ It just shows error 500. Its a bug and its been a year for people without it being addressed. So we are skeptical if our strategy would work without Google+. At the least we decided we would just make company local page and connect it with website. But it might not have effect as local. So we are still unsure which step to take either to wait for google to fix it.(feedbacks emails calls nothing worked) OR We start the process with Google Business Category.

Why is google ranking me higher for pages that aren't optimised for keywords those that are?
I am finding that our homepage and other pages are being ranked higher against keywords that we have optimised other pages for. e.g Keyword: Luxury Towels Google Ranks our homepage http://www.towelsrus.co.uk at 20 for this and the page I am trying to rank for it is nowhere to be seen http://www.towelsrus.co.uk/sport-spa/luxury-towels/catlist_fnct498.htm Why is this and is this why our position for certain keywords fluctuates? How do I remedy this problem?

Multiple Google+ Local (Google Place) under one email address
As a automotive dealership group, we have 15+ business listings set up under one Google+ local account. Google+ Local (Google Places) offers the ability to upload a data file for 10+ listings, so we've kept all listings under one login for efficiency. Is there any specific local SEO benefit or any general benefit at all to having each business listing set up under their own separate email address?

My Google title isn't showing what is entered
Help! On Yahoo and Bing, if you search "Chant Real Estate" the full title that I've entered appears in the search listings: Chant PA Real Estate | Real Estate PA | Pennsylvania: Find PA Homes for Sale But in Google it only shows "Chant PA Real Estate". This title was what the original developer used for their site and it's been almost a year now that it's been under our control. Any suggestions? The URL is www.chantre.com.
