Moz crawl
-
Hi,
1. Is there any way to get the moz crawl to analyse any site like the website auditor tool in seo powersuite on command. It would be good to see what keyword my competitors are using. would also like to analyse my site when i have corrected errors on command.
2. Is google adwords keyword tool still the best keyword research tool? I Don't see anything in the newbie guides to the moz pro tool regarding keyword research.
Thanks!
David.

Hi Chris,
Just read screaming frog is good for 500 urls and then you have to pay, I thought it was too good to be true!

I love Screaming frog its a really handy tool you can also look out in case they left meta keywords in, you can also use tools that pick out keyword density on sites for another indicator.

Thanks Chris!
Just after i wrote question 1, I thought of using the screaming frog tool, I guess the title of the page is a strong enough indication?
Thanks for the links to the guides, and tools It get's a bit overwhelming sometimes it's hard to know where to start!

Hi David,
There is no direct way to see what competitors keywords are but you can use Moz to help work out some sites etc. they may be using see below for some ideas.
1. Here are some good tools if you're a pro subscriber and if not you can still use OSE.
http://moz.com/labs/link-finder
http://moz.com/labs/link-acquisition
and not forgetting the "link opportunities" tab of the open site explorer
It's one of the better one's but you can also research keywords in other ways e.g. seeing what "other users" have searched for at the bottom of the page etc. One great thing you can do in Adwords is (which links to point one) put a competitor's landing page when looking for keyword opportunities There is also a whole blog category if you wanted a look in Moz - http://moz.com/blog/category/keyword-research
Hope that helps a bit, I'm sure some other Moz fans will give some excellent advice too.

PDF Instructions come up in Crawl report as Duplicate Content
Hello, My ecommerce site has many PDF instruction pages that are being marked as duplicate content in the site crawl. Each page has a different title, and then a PDF displayed in an iframe with a link back to the previous page & to the category that the product is placed in. Should I add text to the pages to help differentiate them? I included a screenshot of the code that is on all the pages. Thanks! Justin 9tD9HMr

URL Structure Category Pages -Current Moz Friday-
Hello,
On-Page Optimization | | _Heiko_
regarding #15 of the last moz friday I have a question: http://moz.com/blog/15-seo-best-practices-for-structuring-urls What would you prefer if the lenght of the URL will be still under 60 characters and you have an example like this: Let's call it a specific page in a category. As I like the old shoe examples: You have a page about red shoes in your shoe category. Which URL would you prefer: a) www.mydomain.com/shoes/red-shoe b) www.mydomain.com/shoes/red Personally I would prefer a) or would you already consider this as spammy? My real example is not that trivial like the shoe example and the categories will be in plural and the specific pages always in singular (like in the example shoes vs shoe). c) would be to put it independently from the side structure on www.mydomain.com/red-shoe - but personally I have the experience that a) or b) will help the rankings of the category page if you have the specific pages in the same subfolder. What's your opinion on this?1 -
What on-site issue could be causing Moz to not detect internal links?
Hey guys, We've done a crawl and none of our internal links are showing up. Are there any on-page factors that would prevent Moz from being able to detect our internal links? Thanks!

Massive increase in Moz crawl.
I have a subdomain which has just started to be crawled by Moz, Previously this wasn't the case. The sub-domain had 16,000+ issues. Why has Moz started to count sub-domains as part of the main domain, has Google started to do this aswell?

Does this popup get crawled?
Hi, We have a popup on our site that shows examples of different trash cans that can be used for the bags we sell. Here's an example of a page that has the "common cans popup" http://www.plasticplace.com/3-gallon-high-density-6-mic-17x18-clear-trash-bags (This is a screenshot of where to click: http://screencast.com/t/8AvoktAcXtM) Is this content crawled by google? This is how it looks in our source code: view-source:http://www.plasticplace.com/gallon-size/20-30-gallon-trash-bags (start at line 913) Thanks!

Full Crawl, now what?
Hi, Ok, I logged in this morning to see my full crawl of over 250 pages. I must admit I was expecting an email to inform me and to perhaps outline what my next steps should be. During the last 7 days I have fixed most of the pages that had errors and also added more keywords, just like what was suggested when I first signed up. So, is there a suggested plan of action I should now take to help increase the rankings, perhaps I'm missing this from the email or something? Thanks!

Should a crawl ever take more than 7 days?
I signed up to the 30 day trial last Saturday, however, as of yet, the crawl diagnostics page still says 'First crawl in progress'. Is this normal? Many thanks.
