Perplexed by last MOZ crawling duplicate content errors
-
In the last crawler issues report from MOZ I can see many many pages listed as duplicate content with 0 duplicate urls.
Like this: http://imgur.com/fbikRVq
I am puzzled, what does it mean?
-
Even in the last crawl report the bug is still there, any idea when it will be fixed?
-
Thanks for the answer/update.

Hi Max and Doug - this is currently being recognized as a bug and we have it currently being worked on as we speak. Sorry for the confusion in the short term!
-
We have not had that happen. All the "Duplicate Content" items list a number of duplicates that's > 0.
It is possible that Moz is buggy.
-
But was your report showing the list of url considered duplicate of that url?
In my case on the right I have the duplicate url, but on the left (where the list of other url the crawler consider duplicate should be) there's written 0 page duplicate, and the list is empty.
I am aware even if two pages looks different to me could be considered duplicate by rogerbot, but in the past it was always showing the number of duplicate pages found and the list of duplicate url.

We had the same concern and asked MOZ support this question: Why are we getting duplicate content warnings for pages that are clearly different?
We received the response below. Our takeaway is that we will continue to take these warning into consideration, but apply our own expertise to determine if action is needed.
Response from support: Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the confusion! Duplicate content is always kind of a tricky issue. While you or I can qualitatively determine that there are differences between these pages, crawlers are dependent on more quantitative means to determine duplicate content. When they view the pages, one part of the process is to examine the similarity of the pages' code and look for close matches to determine duplicates; this appears to be the issue here. I stuck these URLs into a similar page checker (http://www.webconfs.com/similar-page-checker.php), and it indicated that there was quite a high degree of similarity.

Why can I see 404 pages in Google Analytics but nothing in the On-Demand Crawl?
Hello, I'm looking at some Google Analytics data for a website and can see a few 'Page not found's among the Page Titles, looking like these are 404 errors. To get a full list of what's 404-ing so I can get these redirected, the Moz on-demand crawl of the website has come back with no major errors and just a few metadata ones. Does anyone know any potential reasons why the audit has drawn a blank, and is there another way to get a comprehensive list of 404s, as I'm aware the Google Analytics data may not be covering all of them. Thanks very much Becky

Can Moz Keyword Explorer help target keywords for Google Images results?
I'm wondering if I can use Keyword Explorer (or maybe another tool?) to target keywords for image rankings. I'd like to play around with optimizing images so that they appear in search results and thus provide traffic - but wasn't sure the best way to track that kind of progress. My ultimate goal is to analyze the difficulty of ranking for a certain keyword via Google images. (I do know to optimize alt tag/title tag/place in relevant article etc, but wanted to know if I could research the difficulty). Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Getting 'Sorry, but that URL is inaccessible' error msg when trying to run On-Page Grader
I just signed up for MOZ Pro for the first time today. Tried to run the 'on-page grader' tool on some of my pages but I'm getting a 'Sorry, but that URL is inaccessible' error msg. I have verified against the robot.txt file that the pages are NOT blocking any crawlers. Can anybody help?

MOZ crawl test is not reporting on all the pages on my site.
I've run the crawl test one of the sites I've taken over SEO for, however its only picking all the pages. For instance it indexes all the pages under xxxxx/us but none under xxxxx/au or xxxxx/uk The pages are being indexed as they're ranking in Google. Thanks.

Moz Crawl Test: Referrer is sitemap.gz?
Hi,
Moz Bar | | Titan552
I'm looking at a crawl test report, and I'm seeing that most of the pages have the sitemamp.gz file listed as the referrer. As I recall in my other reports the referrer is usually the root domain - unless of course there's a redirect. Does having sitemap.gz as the referrer indicate a problem? If so, what problem does it indicate? Thanks!0 -
Where to find one off crawl report
Hello, I don't know if I am being a bit daft but I don't seem to be able to find the area where I can request a one off crawl report anymore (rather than setting up a campaign). Can someone let me know where this is now? Thanks!
