Client YouTube Channel does not appear in Open Site Explorer?
-
Client's website has been connected to their website, along with Google+ page. Why do we not see this listed in Open Site Explorer?
-
Baron,
I believe what Michael meant (correct me if I'm wrong Michael), is that OSE runs off of Moz's crawler. If there crawler hasn't come across your YT and G+ pages, then they wouldn't have picked up the links to your site from those pages either.
Either way, I assure you that Google knows about those links due to their more robust crawling ability and the fact that they own both of those products

Michael,
Thanks for the in depth answer for when a user sees no links.
My question is - Why do I not see YouTube as an inbound link? I have my Google+ page set up correctly with links as well as the YouTube channel.
I also see the top 30 or so inbound links are from my own website?
Let me know if you have any suggestions on these questions.
Thanks!

Hey there Baron,
I'm sorry to hear that you're not seeing any backlink data for your URL in OSE! There are two types of link data we capture: External and Internal Linking pages. In order for us to discover backlinks to your site, we need to crawl the sites and pages linking to you. Once we can find those links, we will then be able to crawl your site to find pages you link to and so forth.
If you don't see any inbound links from external sites:
Check your URL for typos or other errors. Did your URL cut off or contain the wrong punctuation.
Check out the site's navigation. Sometimes it takes multiple index updates for us to discover pages that aren't linked to from the site's primary navigation. A simple fix is to create a link to the URL from another page on the website.
The Mozscape index is still growing. Keep in mind that, while large, our index doesn’t cover the entire web. If you have a smaller site it’s possible we haven’t crawled the domains linking to it. Search the pages linking to yours to see if we have indexed their links. If you need help with link building, check-in with our Q&A community at moz.com/community/qIf you don't see any internal links to your page:
Make sure we're not blocked from crawling this URL or site. If our web crawlers are blocked from crawling certain pages (i.e., with "noindex" or Robots.txt), they may not be included in the index.Just so you know, here's how we compile our index:
- We grab the most recent index.
- We take the top 10 billion URLs with the highest MozRank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains).
- We start crawling from the top down until we've crawled 90,000,000,000 pages (which is about 35% the amount in Google's index).
Therefore, if the site is not linked to by one of these seed URLs (or one of the URLs linked to by them in the next update) then it won't show up in our index.
Other tools, such as Webmaster Tools, Ahrefs, and Majestic will alway show more link data as they target the quantity of links, while OSE focuses more on quality and Domain Authority. It’s best to use all the tools you can to obtain a full backlink profile.
Mozscape focuses on a breadth-first approach. Therefore we almost always have content from the homepage of websites, externally linked-to pages, and pages higher up in a site's information hierarchy. However, deep pages that are buried beneath many layers of navigation are sometimes missed and it may be several index updates before we catch all of these.
We update once a month and you can view the next scheduled update here: http://moz.com/products/api/updates
Hope this helps provide some clarity. I'm also going to be reaching out to you in a help ticket to get the URL from you so I can take a second look in OSE for you.

I am also linked through Google plus and my youtube channel, although not seeing either. Following this thread!

6 Months and still no PA/DA or links by Moz Explorer?
Hi, It's been 6 months and my site is still showing no PA/DA or backlinks according to moz opensite explorer. I know that it has backlinks as I created them myself, and I know its crawlable and the links is there as GWT tells me so. Also you can check for yourself on ahrefs.com. Is Moz indexed pages that much smaller then the other crawlers? The site in question is amanandvan247.com. Thanks.

[No Title] for all Top Pages at Open Site Explorer
49 out of the top 50 pages of the domain www.parallels.com shows [No Title]. I find this to be a major concern. Pages have long been established, title tags haven't changed recently. Am seeing a fair amount of 301 and 404s showing up, but actual OK 200 pages still showing [No Title]. Also seeing some decreases in organic search traffic at Google. Might there be a correlation?

Fresh Web Explorer daily mentions by email not working
Hi A few months ago I setup daily mentions from Fresh Web Explorer so I get alerts to when my site or my competitors site gets a new back link, and I did get an email in the first few weeks, but I haven't gotten once since. Today I check 1-2 of my competitors fresh links and they have gotten some in the last month, but I got no alerts. I have it setup like this
Link Explorer | | PaddyDisplays
rd:competitor.com But now i'm thinking because technically "www" is a subdomain is that why I'm not getting any alerts, do I need to set it up with www and non www for each domain? ( if so that's going to eat to my limit pretty quickly, which would suck), or is there something else I'm missing? Thanks0 -

Is something wrong with Open Site Explorer as I am not getting any social and other data? Is this a problem that will be fixed in the next couple of hours? Is this a bigger issue?

Open site explorer
Hi, I am a little confused how open site explorer updates (not sure its working as aspected). It shows the recent discovered links but these then disappear and do not show in the main list (Inbound links) after a few days. Plus the links in the inbound links tab has not changed for nearly 10 weeks, my other tools are showing the new links..... Does it update on a certain data, if so where can i check the status? Thanks

Removing the clutter of site-wide links
I have a multi-part question with regard to the moz link index and some presentation suggestions. Firstly I would be interested to know how the link index treats site-wide links with regard to metrics such as DA, and PA. We all know that it is highly likely that SE's are unlikely to pass full link value across from sitewide links, and therefore it would make sense for Moz values to account for this as well - if they do not already. One annoying thing that also relates to sitewides is that they tend to clutter the much of the information presentation in a few of the tools (you can't see wood for trees as it were). This is most prominent in the "Just Discovered" page - if you have a sitewides on a large site, you can often find that this screen is just totally filled with these links as they are found. It would be very useful to be able to filter these out, as they are of little interest - currently I can't see a way of filtering them out. A further value where they create to much noise is the 'Total Links' value. Where sitewides are included in this value, the value actually becomes pretty meaningless as you can find that the majority of that value is sitewides. It would therefore be useful if there was another value for 'Total Links - Excluding Sitewides' where maybe value of 1 was just added to the count for a site wide
