Hi John,
I seem to be unable to delete the image myself - I will ask Moz if they can remove the link. I also made the same request @Imgur.

Hi Dirk,
Can you please delete the screen shot ?

Hi John,
As far as I can see - using both the debugger & Analytics extension - I don't see anything wrong with the tags. The only reasonable explanation for the drop of the bounce rate seems to be the events triggered by the enhanced eCommerce tracking. I googled it & there seem to be more cases where implementing the eCommerce tracking had an impact on bouncerate. So, if you don't want the bounce rate to change you will have to make all the events triggered by the advanced e-commerce module non interactive. Not sure how you can do it with the tag manager (I am not using it myself).

Dirk

For point no.-3 - > In tag manager, i have configured tag of Google Analytic which tag fired on all pages and track type i selected pageview.
So do you think google analytic tag fire on all pages and other than that also event tag fire on product page, checkout steps, thank you page so is that okay?.
I am really worried about bounce rate i am not able to give answer to my client, so your input is valuable to me.
-
John,
1 Events are used to do the advanced tracking of e-commerce so according to me there is no alternative; not even sure that you can configure them as "non interactive event"
2. Remarketing script shouldn't be an issue.
Not sure what you mean by point 3 - could you explain what you mean with this point?
rgds,
Dirk

Hi Dirk,
Thanks for your effort.

is there any option other than event?
-
Remarketing script at all pages can be a problem do you think?
-
Universal analytic as track type pageview tag fire on all page can this be a issue?
Thanks,

Hi,
The non-standard implementation could cause measurement errors - but the times I checked it seems that the page views where measured correct. Unlike the normal Analytics code, it's difficult to check with the Tag manager if everything is ok with the code if you don't have access to the tag manager itself. I had the error with the double pageviews a few times, but it seems to appear erratically so difficult to replicate.
I think the main reason why your bounce rate went down is related to the events which are tracked by the enhanced ecommerce tracking - so I don't really think you need to worry about it;

Hi Dirk,
The screen shot which you have given for 2 pageviews request i didn't find at my end if you double check again then you will not find such issue again. Some time this tag assistant shows green signal for all things few times shows at home page only non standard implementation.
So my question is non standard implementation can create problem in bounce rate? I feel NO..
need help.
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
When I check your pages with the Chrome plugin - I regularly get the message that the tag is implemented in a non-standard way. You should check if the tag is properly implemented.
On some occasions (which are unfortunately not always replicable) I noticed that 2 pageviews are fired - rather than one. I added a screencopy to this message.Another thing you should take into account - as you use enhanced e-commerce tracking - each event that is launched on page can have an impact on the bounce rate & time on site.
It's probably interesting to read this article http://www.analytics-ninja.com/blog/2012/06/google-analytics-bounce-rate-demystified.html and/or this article http://cutroni.com/blog/2012/02/29/understanding-google-analytics-time-calculations/Summarising - if your user is performing an action on the page which is tracked by the enhanced e-commerce tracking (and launches an analytics event), even when he stays on the same page, it will have an impact on both how the time on site is measured & the way the bounce rate is calculated. If you don't want an event to have an impact on the bounce rate you can set it to "non-interactive event" - see https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/enhanced-ecommerce - Google's advice would be to only use this for events that are non user initiated.
So the decrease of your bounce rate doesn't necessarily imply that somethings wrong with your measurements. I would try to check what is causing the "non-standard" implementation message to be 100% sure that the tracking is always working properly. You can use the Chrome analytics plugin to check if everything is ok - and use the Analytics debugger to check more in detail which events are fired on each page.
Hope this helps,
Dirk

Can anyone guess what is the issue?
-
Hi Patrick,
Thanks for reply!
- Google Analytic ID is now in GTM account, no GA code present on website 2) GTM code at bottom that i am aware before implementing enhance ecommerce my GTM was present at bottom of the page only and my tracking was working fine. 3) No only enhance eCommerce implemented nothing else.
-
Hi John
Out of curiosity - do you have analytics code installed on the site? I didn't see it when I looked on there, but I figured I would double check. Having both the GA code on the site and having it verified through GTM (which I am assuming you did) can cause that issue - it did for me.
Also, may I ask why you put your GTM code at the bottom of the page? Google Tag Manager's Quick Start Guide says to have it placed right below the opening tag.
Beyond the Enhanced eCommerce implementation, did you make any other changes?

Impressions skyrocketed 10x in few days on just one keyword and I don't understand why.
Hi everyone, I found this 'anomaly' in my google search console data. As you can see from the picture the impressions skyrocketed in a few days and then sort-of plateaued. The clicks remained almost the same because the keyword is highly informational (Wikipedia takes all the traffic). The keyword has around 650 000 searches per month. Btw. We are not doing off-site SEO. I would like to hear your opinion on what could have caused this. A Google update maybe? 5lERKef

Why might my websites crawl rate....explode?
Hi Mozzers, I have a website with approx 110,000 pages. According to search console, Google will usually crawl, on average, anywhere between 500 - 1500 pages per day. However, lately the crawl rate seems to have increased rather drastically: 9/5/16 - 923

Conversion Rate Higher Than Landing Page Visits?
Interesting to see in Google Analytics that the conversion rate is higher than landing page visits - could it be attributed to a visitor clicking the CTA button multiple times? Or perhaps there is duplicate GA code on the conversion page since we utilize both Google Analytics and HubSpot. (see attached funnel screenshot) Screen-Shot-2014-09-26-at-10.49.09-AM.png

Why did my site go from 1,000 Impressions to 0 impressions over the past couple days
so we have been doing a lot of reconstruction our website the past couple days with our navigation and moving stuff around. Now bare with me because i am a noob to SEO and i am still learning. But we went from a steady 800-1000 impressions everyday to a 0 since the first. you can check out our site here: www.hidguy.net Not sure if its because we are moving stuff around or what. But we can notice that our conversion rate has dropped and we have had traffic but no conversions and no orders. Is what we are doing bad or is this normal?

Another high bounce rate
Hi there, One of my top landing pages has an 81% bounce rate. http://www.snowbusiness.com/what-we-do/film,-tv-and-advertising.aspx My first thoughts are purely bad IA and usability, but i know there must be loads of other things people might identify. Thanks in advance, Ben

Increased Bounce Rate & Dollar Index?
We use Google Analytics on our ecommerce site and we recently made several changes to an important page. Due to logistical reasons, we couldn't perform a Google web optimizer test but tracked the page's numbers in analytics from before/after the changes were made. After a week, we noticed that the bounce rate on the page went up by about 10% but the dollar index also doubled. We're trying to figure out how this could happen, since it seems kind of odd. Any feedback would be appreciated.
