Disavowed links, updated website etc - still no ranking improvements
-
Hi,
Could anyone take a look at www.artificialgrass4u.co.uk - a few years ago it used to rank highly for 'artificial grass' ... then when Google rolled out its algorithms punishing websites with poor links it lost all it's rankings.
We've disavowed almost all of the bad links, and have been adding new optimised content etc over the past few months but rankings still haven't improved.
Is there anything I'm missing?
Thanks

I think the first question I need to ask you is the following
- Did you have a manual penalty in GWT?
- Did your rankings drop from algorithmically?
- Do you know exactly which updates you were effected by? (panda, penguin, top-heavy, layout...)
- What made you decide to disavow links? Did you even need to?
One of the biggest mistakes I have seen many others do when their rankings drop is "panic" and start disavowing links. SEO'rs tend to run to the disavow tool when they may not even realize that their issues have nothing to do with that. Of course if you have a manual penalty they you have something to go by, but if you are effected from an algorithm change then you have some work ahead.
I think the first step you need to do is try and figure out which update(s) you were effected by. That will give you a better idea where you need to focus your attention. Here is a great article that will help you to understand
Once you get past that then here is an awesome article in which even helped me to recover, it takes some work but I promise it was the best thing I ever did.

Keszi above is spot on. Likely have to wait for the next penguin update.
That said your title is the below:-
Artificial Grass - Fake Grass - Artificial Grass Suppliers - ArtificialGrass4u.co.uk
Artificial x 4 - as artificial is the synonym for fake. That is robust SEO I am not sure if google would go as far as keyword stuffing. You may consider the title being a bit more customer friendly. That may assist as well.
ie Artificial grass | Synthetic Grass suppliers | Artificialgrass4u
Not much help, but good luck.

Hi there,
It can take quite some time until you will see effect of the disavowed links file. For example in one of our projects I've seen it took almost 6 months until we have seen some recovery after submitting the disavow file.
Also what I'd advise you to check if your rankings were only effected by the lower quality links you had in the past. One tool that might help you with that is Barracuda's Panguin tool: http://barracuda.digital/panguin-tool/
Basically it will use your Google Analytics data, and overlap with the known google updates. That could also highlight if your website was hit by another update meanwhile.
I hope this helps a little-bit.

How To Place A Last Updated Tag
Hi All, I hope this is something you can help me with. My website is running wordpress and I post frequently. However I do update a lot of my posts over time to keep them relevant. I would like to add in the last updated tag into my posts to clearly indicate this to the search engines. Is this best placed manually or does anyone know of a plugin which can take care of this is a smart manner. Thanks In Advance

New Page Not ranking?
One of this client's top keyword is "oak beams". They already rank well in the UK for other related terms like "reclaimed oak beams" at /reclaimed-oak-beams/ and "air dried oak beams" at /air-dried-oak-beams/ We have created a page at /oak-beams/ but this page ranks nowhere? Instead the reclaimed oak beams or air dried oak beams page ranks for the term "oak beams". Any ideas why Google is swapping between those pages and not choosing the /oak-beams/ page? A few notes are that the /oak-beams/ page is newest page on the site and yes I know there are no links pointing to it but there are no links pointing to the other pages either?

Internal Links
I have a page that I am working to rank. Open Site Explorer shows that I have 69 internal links and a competitive site (ranked #4) has 822 internal links. The page I am looking to rank is on my main navigation menu so it should have an incoming link from every page on my site. My site is 6 years old and has 497 pages indexed according to Google Webmaster Tools. What do I need to do to improve the number of internal links that are being recognized?

New Pages - Stable Rankings
Hello, Not a direct question really, just a poll really of your experience - I work with a few companies and have noticed recently that there seems to be an increase in the time it takes to go from a) showing up in the index (quickly within a day or two) to b) getting a stable ranking. I see spikes over the first few weeks (even up to 3 months) before the rankings eventually settle. Have you noticed the same, is it taking longer to achieve a stable ranking, do you work with any sites that get indexed, rank, and stay in the same slot for moderately competitive terms comparing to a year or tow ago? Interested to hear other people's experience and how long we expect to wait for new content to settle Thanks

No links or traffic to our articles
Hello, Our articles are written by a professional in the field, taylored to what we think our ecommerce customers would most want to know about. But there is no traffic to our articles and almost no inbound links. We have 15 articles around 500 words (roughly) each. We've got a right sidebar banner about our FAQ and articles and a rotating banner with one slde about our articles. Also, we have a tab at the top. We've had a good article section for 5 months, and a descent one for a couple of years Could it be our industry, or what can we do?

On page internal link text
Hi, I'm in the process of rebuilding/designing an existing well ranking niche bespoke software site and have the following question - In the footer, I'm planning on linking to the main landing pages (blue widget software, red widget software etc theres about 7 in total). In these links I want to know if its best to have the word "software" in each link as I'm scared of it looking spamy. We sell custom software, and a lot of the keywords that currently attract traffic (as reported in analytics) end in the word software, for example - blue widget software red widget software In the footer would you end each link with software or not? How much effect would this have on rankings? Thanks in advance.
