Moz shows duplicate content, but URL's are tagged with campaign tags
-
Crawl diagnostics shows a lot of pages with duplicate content, but when I check the details, I see that it lists the same page but the url contains a campaign tag, so it's not really another page that is serving identical content...
Is there a way to remove these pages out of the Crawl Diagnostics?

Hey Joris,
I'm afraid that we aren't able to see what parameters you are adding to GWT, since we don't use that information in any way to crawl your site. We conduct a proprietary crawl of the site and report on exactly what your source code and server respond with.
Patrick is right that adding the canonical tags to your site (or using the robots.txt file to block the campaign pages) would clear up those errors in our crawler.
Since some dynamic URL generators can cause problems for crawlers, we do try to be overly-inclusive of these issues. We want people to know about potential issues with sites, even if they're not really issues in the scheme of the site owner's specific SEO implementation plan. In sum, we'd rather leave those judgments up to you. I hope this helps explain our thinking here!

Hi there
Well the canonical tag would help Moz understand that this page isn't duplicate, that's why I mentioned that tactic.
As far as Search Console, I was just trying to help get you other angles covered.
I would try canonical tags and see how that goes over on your next report.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Thanks,
I already added the URL parameters in GWT but it's the duplicate content that is appearing in my MOZ reports because of those tags.
No way to exclude them of MOZ? Imagine you have a page that and a lot of tagged links pointing towards that page, it's gonna list all those tagged links in the duplicate content report.

Hi there
Campaign tags don't signal unique content. It's essentially the same concept as...
http://www.example.com
http://example.comBoth are two different URLs but have the same content, thus making it duplicate content, even though it's technically the same page.
What you can do is take a look into your canonical tags and make sure those are upto date and correct. You can also look into categorizing your parameters, letting crawlers know how to handle this content. Both of these resources will help with your duplicate content issue.
Yoast has a great resource as well for common causes and solutions to duplicate content.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Why doesn't OSE show results from sites like Wikipedia, YouTube, Twitter, etc.?
I know OSE used to provide link data from these domains. But I have been doing link profile lookups on sites that I know have links from these domains - and they don't show up in my results. Just to make sure, they don't even show up when I sort the sites by domain authority.

I am trying to find inbound links for one of my site urls. My question is does SEOMoz able to track all internal links as the Open Site Explorer shows 0 internal links?
It shows 0 internal links when I am pretty sure we have multiple internal links.Should we use absolute urls or relative urls for internal links?

Duplicate Content being caused by home page?
Hello everyone, I am new to SEOmoz and SEO in general and I have a quick questions. When running a SEO Web Crawler report on my URL, I noticed in the report that my home page (also known as my index page) was listed twice. Here is what the report was showing: www.example.com/ www.example.com/index.php So are these 2 different urls? If so, is this considered duplicate content and should I block crawler access to the index.php? Thanks in advance for the help!

How can I Pull OSE Data for Multiple URL's at once
I'm putting together a link prospecting csv (very basic/simple). I'm doing my own manual hunting for link prospects and compiling them in a list in that excel doc. Once I'm done with that, I want to pull OSE data on a larger scale (MozRank, PA, DA, etc.). I know Niel Bosma's SEO tools for Excel exists, but I have a Mac, and it's not available for that. And I can't really pay for any of the big tools right now (ie BuzzStream). Does anybody know of a good tool or way of going about pulling this data in a way that will save time? As opposed to pulling data for each URL one by one. ANY tips would be GREATLY appreciated.

Duplicate page content and search in Magento
Hi all, Firstly, I am a business owner and not a SEO genuis but I work on my site and am learning how to "tweek" everyday. That said, my site www.vintagetimes.com.au needs a bit more than a tweek. Here is problem 1: I have massive duplicate page content which is being driven primarily by search and I'm not sure how to tackle the issue. Working in Magento. Could anybody give me an instruction on how to steer robots away from search results? I would also like to know WHY a search result is here as well? Example of about 20 pages of this type of result: | Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=created_at&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=metal&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=name&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=price&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=relevance&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=stone&dir=asc | 50+ | 1 | 0 |

Open Site Explorer Missing URL's
I see a link to my site on a couple different url's, but they are not listed in OSE. The links have been active for a long time too. Does OSE not track all inbound links from all sites? Thanks, Stephen
